About this lodge
This private island vacation rental is located an hour East of San Fransisco in the California Delta close to Discovery Bay.
It offers an array of cabins totaling 7 bedrooms, 8 baths, and a central lodge with a large kitchen. This is the ideal place for boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, campfires, or exploring the 1.3 mile private island loop. With plenty to do on and off the island, make this your next vacation spot! Perfect for large families, Groups of friends, or corporate events.
NOTE!! This is an Island, and is not directly accessible by car.
If you do not have a boat there are many boat rental companies in the area. The most popular for our guests is CB rentals in Discovery Bay. They have a collection of platform boats that are great for groups, and there the rates are very reasonable. Many of our guests have said renting from them was a great experience!
There are around 60 goats & sheep, on the island that help control the vegetation. They are friendly & adorable, and may come up to you to say ‘HI’. If you have a dog, you need to be carful and keep them in control around the goats.

We had an amazing multi generational weekend at Faye Island! Quick 15 min boat ride from Discovery Bay or short 10 min ride from Bullfrog Marina where your guests can park for free! Accommodations were plentiful, well appointed and clean. Everything was accurately depicted on VRBO listing. We had a wide range of ages from 84 to 6 months and this property had something for everyone! I can’t rave enough about how wonderful this property is. We’re definitely coming back next year!

Our family of 4 generations, ages 12-90, all had a great time on Fay Island. We all had our own cabins which were very comfortable. The kids swam off the dock, hiked around the property and really enjoyed the canoes that were there. It was peaceful and we enjoyed the birds and otters that we saw. The fishing was great. We even had our own private air show as the planes were practicing right over our heads. Communications with the owner and caretaker were great. No problems. The kids voted to rent Fay Island again next year!

This was our third stay at the island, and it did not disappoint again! We had seven adults and 10 kids for two nights of endless fun and adventure. The island is a magical place.

We LOVED our stay at Fay Island! We had a large group of friends all stay for a long weekend and we had a blast. The island has it all - comfy beds, large kitchen, big dock to hang out on, BBQs, large pots and pans for cooking, and a beautiful trail around the perimeter of the island. The house was extremely well stocked for fun in the water with floaties, kayaks, and life jackets. There was a pump to blow up the floaties, and a big speaker to use. The kitchen and living room is in a separate structure than the bedrooms, which we loved so that people could go to bed at any time and the folks that wanted to stay up didn’t have to worry about disturbing the people sleeping. We rented a pontoon boat from CB’s pontoon boats and they were also amazing, and helped us with gear transfers too.

Such a great property for a family reunion. Plenty of space to be enjoyed together or to spread out. We had an infant, kids, teens and adults, and all had a great time. The goats are super friendly and fun. We will definitely be back!

This is our second year staying at Fay Island for our family summer vacation. What a special and unique vacation rental. Easily accommodates our group of over 20. It’s a wonderful location for the boaters and nature lovers. We love having everyone together. We will definitely be back!!

Fay Island is the perfect spot for a large group to stay on the delta. It has all the amenities you need, including inner-tubes, kayaks, fully stocked kitchen, outdoor deck with grills, etc. It’s on the fast water so you can do sports right from the house. I couldn’t recommend this place more for a large group, you will seriously have so much fun.

This place is not fancy but it has everything you need and then some. The island to yourself is such an experience. The owner and property manager are extremely accommodating. We were a group of 20 and everyone had their own space to get away from the chaos or the lodge to join in the chaos! We played games, took nature walks, did a little skeet shooting, boating, jet skiing and much more! We have already started planning our next stay. :)

We hosted an epic family reunion on Fay island. Kids ages 18mo—12years all caught fish. The deck is perfect for watching as the little ones learned to water ski. The caretaker and host were very attentive and fixed some issues with a broken AC unit and shower door as soon as they could. The club house central dining area was perfect for gathering to eat and host a bbq. We brought a baby pool and slip n slide for the deck which was perfect on the fake turf and kept the little kids super entertained.
We are really grateful for the chance to stay at Fay.

We have been enjoying Fay Island for years hosting our annual retreat. Since it has been converted to a formal VRBO, there have been numerous upgrades that enhance what is already a spectacular property. We brought a private chef who enjoyed the numerous options for cooking, grilling, and smoking. We planned meals to reflect the Duck Club history. Sunsets are spectacular.
The caretaker on the island did a great job with a few of our unanticipated needs.
It was a perfect retreat.

My friends and I had a blast staying at Fay Island. It was so great and fun to have the whole island to ourselves. We got to enjoy the sunshine, jump into the river, and explore the nature there. One night the goats even came to say hello to us near their pen! The rooms and cabins were very comfortable and there was more than enough space for everyone. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and adventurous experience.

We enjoyed using the fully-equipped kitchen and bbq, the kayaks, lifevests, and fishing gear and had so so so much fun! Truly, it is a one-of-a-kind place on earth; what an exceptional location to celebrate a 40th!

We stayed on Fay Island with 20 friends (no kids!) for my husband's 50th birthday weekend. We had the MOST amazing time—nobody stopped smiling for three days straight! We rented a ski boat and a pontoon boat and spent relaxing mornings drinking coffee on the deck, afternoons out on the boats, followed by late afternoon naps, cards or backgammon, sunset cocktail cruises, BBQ dinners on the deck, late night dance parties, and even a bonfire! The property owner and manager were super responsive and friendly and have pulled out all the stops to make this place so special. Additional shout-outs to Cathy and Jeff at CB's Pontoon Rentals, Derek at Bay Area Boat Rentals, Carl at Bullfrog Marina and Brian at B-Boys BBQ for exceeding all expectations. It takes a village to pull off a three-day birthday extravaganza without a hitch and we couldn't have done it without you! Can't wait for next year.

We have scheduled a 40th birthday gathering at Fay Island in June, so we did a test/reconnaissance stay there this week. It was super, and we look forward to the next visit. So peaceful and comfortable... and the owners have big plans for future improvements. We loved it.

Amazing private island with private access to the delta. Closest spot to the Bay Area for warm water boating.

Location is great - right on a channel so none of that slow water nonsense. Close to a couple of marinas for getting in and out, or picking up that forgotten something.
Pictures are very accurate. But its such a large place with so much room that it doesn't register until you're there. There's so much inside and outside living spaces. Can watch the sunrise on the front deck while sipping coffee, have means indoors or outside, and see the sunset on the back deck while grilling dinner.
Kitchen was well setup with everything we needed.
Bedrooms are an interesting combination of king size bed rooms and bunk rooms. Everything is clean, comfortable, and tidy.
There's air conditioning everywhere so its very pleasant on those hot summer delta days and evenings.
Owners are very quick to respond to any inquiries and are nice people to work with.
Will definitely book again

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Faye Island. The communication with the caretaker and property manager were excellent. We felt well cared for. When we needed extra pillows and paddles for the kayaks, the caretaker tan out and bought them for us. There were a few nuances of the property and space due to the rustic conditions, however nothing we couldn’t deal with. We know this property will get better and better as the owners share this gem with more and more families. We look forward to staying at Faye Island again!

We absolutely loved this unique property. Being right on the water with tons of toys provided was so much fun for the kids and the adults loved the privacy, the many many sleeping cabins and room options, grilling on the back deck watching the sun set, and just generally spending quality time together in an idyllic setting. Staff was amazing and helpful, zero issues. Thank you, we will all want to return many times!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this island adventure. All cabins have been remodeled and offer updated furniture and comfortable bedding, towels along with two laundry rooms. Kitchen has everything you need to create family meals and there are three types of BBQs on the spacious back deck. AC units kept us comfortable on even the hottest days. This is a place to make special memories, Swimming, Boating, Jet Skiing and Fishing. There was 18 of us and we all had plenty of space to relax. Be prepared for enjoying the outdoors in the country with all the critters that come with.....and with sunscreen and bug spray. The care taker was available for any needs and very nice. Thanks for sharing your island home with us.

Our family stayed at Fay Island from July 10-July 14.
We rented 2 pontoon boats from CB Pontoon Rentals to get all of us to the island. Once we arrived we immediately felt so happy to be there. The kitchen was well stocked, there were ample towels for everyone, deck furniture was great for our morning coffee and evening meals. The path around the island saw many of our footprints for our morning walks.
Overall Fay Island is a great place to enjoy your family. The owners and caretakers were so kind and receptive to all of our needs and wants for that matter.

We had a great time on Fay Island. Host and care takers were super responsive and very flexible. For example: We had a few people bringing tents and they made sure to mow the lawn right before our stay. We wanted to make s'mores one night and they even got us those for free. WiFI and electronics worked just fine. The goats were nice and the track around the island made for a nice run. You are certainly out in nature and have to expect everything that comes with that, including bugs and wildlife. So be prepared and you'll find a great place for a retreat.

What a great relaxing place to stay for a weekend retreat. Spacious property, quiet, and scenic. Jayson, the property manager was super accommodating, and welcoming. Can’t wait to book again in a few years. Well worth every penny.

I brought 17 girls 10-18 here for the week! We had a wonderful time.
It is great to have a private place where we can let the girls roam free without worrying about strangers coming around. We spent a lot of time each afternoon swimming, floating and kayaking.
The kitchen is well stocked and was able to handle the 27 of us.
Sunrises and sunsets are so pretty.
Hope to come stay again someday.

It can be a struggle to find places to stay that can accommodate large groups, but I think we have found the holy grail! Fay Island easily housed our family of 20. The layout was great and felt very spacious. Obviously the docks with access to fast water was absolutely amazing, but the island provide a lot of fun as well. Morning/evening walks, tons of wildlife (including friendly goats), fire pit, games, etc.
Our group would highly recommend. We can’t wait to come back next year!

This was the second time I've rented the island and it was yet again incredible! We had over 15 people including several of my friends and their grade school kids. It was magical to watch the kids play outdoors all day getting dirty and exploring the island. Not once did one of them ask for the wifi password. One moment they would be playing in the kayaks, and the next they would be throwing the football on the back lawn. My friends and I relaxed on the front deck with music and beverages. This rental is such a unique experience! It's like sleep away camp, but with good bedding, a well-stocked kitchen, and air conditioning.

We had an amazing time at the island. We were celebrating our friends 50th birthday and it was perfect for a group of seven families with one or two kids each. We also had a couple of pets and the sleeping arrangement was perfect. Steve is very comfortable with good heating and cooling arrangements. There’s a trail that runs around the property and it’s perfect for morning and evening walks.

This place was perfect for a 50th birthday with friends and family. Enough room for everyone to have a bed….and plenty of space to explore. We will definitely come again.

We had a fantastic time - this was the perfect spot for our leadership retreat. The cabins are well-maintained and wonderfully clean - we enjoyed the main cabin and its great kitchen for our group meetings; the many decks and cabins provided the perfect place to rest and enjoy the views. The property has everything you could want for a great time ( for a group or family), with opportunities to fish, boat, ski, float, or walk to experience the wide variety of birds and the beauty of the channels. Thanks, Paul, for being a fantastic host!

This place was incredible. A whole paradise all to ourselves, tons of bedrooms, kid bunk rooms, amazing dock and water access, a true getaway. Our kid said, “I feel like we should have had to fly here to be here,”. A great hangout for family and friends!

My family and friends stayed at the island for three nights recently and had an amazing time! The cabins comfortably slept 10 children and 5 adults with room to spare. We enjoyed tons of boating, floating on the magic carpet, paddle boating, walking the island, and looking at the beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is very stocked as well. This was the ultimate rental to feel far away from it all and have an island all to yourself!
