Location. Extremely clean. The staff go above and beyond. Very helpful and friendly. Lovely that the owners mingle with the guests too.
Can’t fault the property or staff but guest did abuse the free communal goodies.

The room was amazing we're looking to book already for another stay
There nothing we didn't like

Lovely quirky bedroom and incredibly comfy bed. Nice extra of unlimited biscuits and sweets.
Staff very friendly.
Was at a wedding there and only 2 toilets downstairs for all the guests.
Obvious cost cutting exercise with 1/4 filled toiletries in some cases in the bedroom.
We had 2 rooms - one of which was reasonably priced. No idea why the other was £50 more.
Breakfast and meal portion sizes quite small. Staff forgot a few requests for breakfast.
Was very hard to get hold of anyone on the phone to answer a few questions we had about our booking.
Had to request an iron several times.
Just a few small bit of feedback for improvement. We had a lovely stay overall.

Cannot fault anything, such friendly staff, food was delicious, room was divine. Had the most enjoyable stay for my husbands birthday, will definatley be back in the Spring/summer to enjoy the lovely grounds. Highly recommend.
Absolutely nothing, cannot fault this hotel.

So beautifully presented, especially with the Christmas decorations in full flow. Very attentive staff. Our bedroom - The Mallard - was perfect in every way - meticulously designed, spacious and luxurious. The restaurant was unfortunately closed on that night but the breakfast was excellent.
No marmalade for breakfast!!

Exceptional decor in the room and the hotel generally. The grounds were extensive, well-kept and great for a short walk before breakfast.
There was a croquet lawn and an attractive kitchen garden. Lovely!
We were extremely well looked after by friendly and attentive staff.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances (a funeral nearby the next day), we stayed on a Sunday evening when the kitchen is closed. We were sorry to have missed having dinner at the hotel; locals told us that the food is excellent.
Not a big issue but breakfast was served from 9.00, which is unprecedented in our experience.

The lights kept flickering often as they need to do an upgrade to a higher phase

fantastic venue, so comfortable and well appointed rooms.
The coffee station was a good idea, but didn’t really work in practice. The area was a bit of a bottle neck, carrying hot drinks around not very safe, and sadly the coffee machine was poor. It would have been better, we felt, to have the facility in room. The little treat jars and fridge would still be fine where they were however.

The breakasts were excellent, the friendliness of all the staff was good
Heating in the room was inadequate despite discussing this with the owner
The room was too small with only one seat to sit in.We didn't like the fact that the sink was in the bedroom.Whilsy we were allocated the room at the price we had anticipated the hotel was largely empty so un upgrade to a better room would not have hurt or inconvienience any one

The hotel is situated in a quiet plot so not a sound at night from cars/people etc.
Rooms were furnished and decorated exceptionally and the staff were welcoming, friendly and even let us have a peek at the other rooms which we will be booking in to stay again soon! A good quality breakfast and the bed was so comfy I wanted to take the mattress home. We will be back. Thank you.

Could not rate this place highly enough. Luxurious but unpretentious, staff very friendly but very well trained and they remained correct at the same time. Top notch breakfast, like a home from home. Pricier than the average but then here you get what you pay for. Cracking Halibut steak first night………exceptional!
Sunday Lunch top drawer all washed down with a large glass of Pitchfork Shiraz and a superb Muscat digestif.i
We didn’t like to leave at the end of our 3 day stay😀
