The property is wonderful, staff was incredible, and management/ownership went above and beyond. We will definitely be back!

WOW, what an experience. We absolutely loved our stay. This is an original building built in 1897. The room was amazing and so comfortable. The owners of the building are renovating so the restaurant and saloon aren't open yet. The owners are so warm and welcoming. I would stay there over and over again.

Beautiful building. Spacious suites. Appreciated having a living room and bedroom. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen shared with other suite. Easy parking on street. Restaurant downstairs with new kitchen opening soon. Great decor.

Very quaint and comfortable old Victorian hotel. We stayed in suite 1 that had a living room and separate bedroom and bathroom. We were the 1st guests of the new owners and only guests during our stay. We loved it!

The property was a perfect balance of historical architecture and modern amenities. This time of year it was also not over crowded with people. I'd stay there again.

Very nice suite with plenty of room to lay things out. The bed was fantastic. The shared kitchen was great with the treats and some breakfast items but I would have liked the pastries to be replenished, what was there was old. All around a good place at a good price, we'll definitely stay here again.

The check in and personal service/tour of the room and hotel was excellent. The area surrounding the hotel is magnificent. My wife and I walked around the Main Stret area and loved the local shops and views.

We cannot recommend this place. The history of the building was interesting, but we had to check in to the bar next door. There was a young woman in the alley smoking that we at first thought was homeless. Dressed very grungy, sitting in the alley. Turns out she worked in the bar and was the one who was checking us into our room (giving us the key code). The bed was comfy and It was fairly quiet in the street. The kitchen was FILTHY!!! Corners and stairs were disgusting. It needs a complete cleaning and updating.

Clean and comfortable.

Our stay here was fine. Some of the things that kept me from rating it higher were the confusing check in (there isn't a front desk so-to-speak; you check in at the restaurant bar), lack of clarity on where to park (we ended up parking in a lot down the block, but there isn't any signage), lack of blow dryer/iron, and the extremely hard bed in the bedroom. It also wasn't clear if/how we needed to check out since the restaurant didn't open until way after we wanted to leave. We figured out all of the things as we went, but we would have appreciated a little more clarity.

It was an amazing room, better than the pictures and very well maintained.

Very cool historic building. Owners were nice and helpful. Property is clean. There is a restaurant on the first floor and several down the street. There is a park within a easy walk. Close to Deadwood without the crowd. The only issue was noise from the bar across the street.

Nice, quiet hotel. The room wasn't properly cleaned when we arrived.

The room is gorgeous, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food options are limited but very very good. Love the bar and restaurant below. They offer a kitchen for the guest use that was stocked with food, coffee, cereal and snacks. I am so happy we stayed at the property and I can't wait to stay with them again.

We were in the Red Suite on the second floor of an original Lead building within an easy walk of the Open Cut, and SURF Visitors Center. Also near the Mining Museum and Opera House. The room was nicely decorated, and the bath had original touches. We were above the bar/restaurant. The breakfast was wonderful. We were able to choose from the menu. A nice addition to Lead's hotel offerings.
We did not expect an elevator, and this was not a problem for us since we are walkers. However, I could see this being a problem for others. We packed over-night backpacks, and thus eliminated dealing with heavier bags for the stay.

Enjoyed staying here because it almost felt like we were in the old west. The decor and the originality of the building and features made our stay even more memorable

Beautiful hotel in quiet town close to Deadwood. Great breakfast.

This property is the perfect combination of capturing the experience of staying in an old-time saloon while providing the creature comforts that we have come to expect. It is super spacious and has tall ceilings. The features in the room are very well done. The bathroom is roomy and has excellent tile work. The modern conveniences include AC that doesn't blow over you, i.e., the kind you have in your own home and TVs in both the bedroom and the sitting room.

The Stampmill was perfect for what we were looking for. Located right in downtown Lead, with easy parking, and within walking distance to many of Lead’s attractions, including the mine right across the street. The suite is located on the second floor of an amazing building constructed in 1987. Stairwell access to the room is from a private street entrance or through the Stampmill Restaurant and Pub. The Victorian suite had plenty of space with a queen sized bed in the bedroom with attached full bathroom, along with a separate sitting area. Furnishings are fitting and match the era but they do also provide modern conveniences like Roku and mini fridge. The property manager and staff, like many from the area, were extremely helpful and super friendly. Complimentary breakfast in the morning is anything off the restaurant menu downstairs and was delicious and so filling that we couldn’t finish our plates. The Stampmill is unique and full of history. Thank you Jana for sharing your wonderful property with us and making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely recommend staying in this wonderful piece of history to our family and friends.
