It is spotlessly clean, the owner is very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is located in a 2 bedroom apartment on the third floor of the building. Each bedroom has its own lock and is therefore very secure. The communal kitchen is well equipped and the presence of a washing machine is a tremendous plus. Being so near the Retiro park, the location is perfect and quiet. There is a "Dia" supermarket very nearby for those who wish to self cater. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants in neighbouring streets.
There being no lift in the building, it would not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.

That the amenities in the apartamento were very good. There was an excellent kitchen and a nice bathroom. The rooms were very clean and smelled very good. The bed was very, very comfortable. The bedroom had a good closet.
That the apartment was on the fourth floor and I didn’t know about it beforehand since it was not listed.

The bed was VERY comfortable and the temperature comfortable with minimal use of the small portable heater. The room was very clean and the flat screen TV was large. Sufficient shelf and closet space. The clothes washer and refrigerator operated well. The water from the kitchen faucet was very hot. Great for sterilizing the dishes. The full bath tub/shower was nice. Host was friendly. The location was very convenient to Parque Retiro, Metro locations, (especially Goya & Ibiza but also Atocha) and even to the communities surrounding the park. Don't let the maps mislead you about the distances. There are many restaurants/bars/grocery stores and other shopping options such as El Corte Inglés within easy walking distances. Even the museo for la Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (Museo Casa de la Moneda) is easy to reach on foot. It's free but remember to have your passport with you to access it. Tokio was unavailable :-( .
Two main items. 1. The kitchen was sparsely supplied with cooking utensils or basic spices left from prior guests. There was no cutting board nor a colander (strainer for pasta) among other items. Inconvenient to prepare some meals. It's not cost effective to buy sugar, spices, etc for only a few nights of meals. 2. The apartment lost power twice. Evidently, using the low Watt portable heater may trip the circuit breakers when used in the kitchen with or without other appliances operating. It's not a problem after you received instructions on resetting all of the breakers but it's especially frustrating when it occurs right before a World Cup match showing La Albiceleste and you're unsure of the cause or resolution. Another issue was that one of the 2 heating elements on the stove didn't operate at the lower heat settings. It made cooking some items inconvenient.

Comfortable bed, clean, lots of nice coffee shops and bars nearby, the room had a decent quality heater which came in handy as it was December and the weather was quite wet & miserable, easy location for buses and metro, close to retiro Park and museums, friendly and helpful host.

The host was very nice and the room was very clean. The location was fantastic, and I loved being able to walk through the park, to the metro stations, etc
There was no lock on my bedroom door, which meant that anyone with a key (the host, any people staying In the other room in the flat, etc) could have gotten into my room at any time, which especially made me nervous as a young girl traveling alone.
9.0 / 10.0
• Location (next to the parc and city center & metro)
• The kitchen
• Smart TV
• Caring of the host
Nothing to mention
