We enjoyed our stay overall but would have enjoyed newer mattresses. Easy check in. Shower and supplies were nice. Beautifully updated historic home. Thank you!

Negatives: First of all the property is not numbered. Second, and most importantly, this a duplex. The person(s) upstairs started making an insane amount of noise starting at 10pm. They were finally quite after asking the owner to reach out to them. They started again around 1 and reached peak noise again between 2 and 4am, I got 3 hours of sleep total. The beds are just foam blocks, no support and was uncomfortable. Some of the bedding smelled like BO like they hadn't been washed. The rest smelled like they bathed in perfume. My wife and I are allergic to perfume so I woke up with a swollen throat. Nothing was done about this. Then we almost locked ourselves out because the lock on the front door locks automatically and there was no warning. One of the bedroom doors doesn't latch either.
Positive: the house is old but you can tell they have put work into restoration and updating it. They also left plenty of the usual things you would find in a decent hotel. They even left some drinks and popcorn! Overall it would have been fine if not for the horrible neighbor upstairs and the bedding either smelling like BO or an entire bottle of perfume.
We recommend looking elsewhere, we have requested a refund or part of a refund but no answer. VRBO was going to deal with it at nearly midnight but then told me to contact them the next day. They told me to request a refund.

The stay was fine but the locks on all the doors need to be updates.

I have mixed feelings about this property. You will find the house to be charming being that it’s an old historic home turned into apartments. We were on the first floor. Lots of space to spread out and was clean. What I didn’t like was there were broken blinds on the front door that faced the very busy gas station allowing the people walking around out front to see into the living room so there wasn’t privacy. There also was no curtains in master allowing the street lights to shine in and no coverage for full privacy. If those things were fixed I’d stay again. However with that being said I rated lower due to the lack of communication from the owner. That tuned me off and wont stay again. Had issues with communication since the beginning. They said they would be better and it seemed that way but then changed and never heard from them on a question for help. Communication is crucial and would of changed my whole rating.
