Great location as it was close to Notre Dame where our grandson played in a baseball tournament. Also close to grocery store as well as restaurants.
Kids played some of the board games
We cooked out and played cornhole as well.
Lisa responded to my question quickly.

Clean well maintained house. Backyard could use a little bit of up-keep. Overall a very pleasant stay for our mini-family reunion to see the new candy factory!!!

Excellent location! Charming residence. Very accommodating in all ways. The deer in the yard made it all feel so calm. Highly recommended!! If VRBO allowed for more stars in the ratings, they would all be tens … in Gold and Blue! 👍

My husband and I enjoyed staying in your home with his brothers and their wives for his 90th birthday which we celebrated in nearby Mishawaka with children, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and a great grandson. The house was perfect for us and well supplied. We loved the different spaces, both indoor and outdoor porches and the neighborhood for walking. Thank you, Lisa and Mike!

Spoke with Lisa a few times before booking. She was very prompt in her responses and always provided great information.
The house was adorable and our crazy family of 8 adults and a 4 year old were very comfortable. There’s ample space in the living and dining rooms and the bedrooms are spacious. As others mentioned, two of the bedrooms share a commons walk space. They have doors but the back bedroom will have to walk through the other room to go downstairs or use the restroom. Our group is comfortable so it wasn’t really a big deal for us.
Lisa decorates for Christmas, just enough to be festive but not gawdy. We brought in a small 4 for tree to decorate and it really was just enough.
The house is loaded with dinnerware, glasses, crock pots, bakeware, great pots and pans and a regular and Keurig coffee pot. Having good pans to cook in made such a difference. I’ve had really terrible cookware in previous rentals so I truly appreciated this as I did all of the cooking for the entire family for 3 days!!!
My family already said that we should book again next year!!!
Thanks, Lisa. We had a great time.

With three days to plan a trip from Wisconsin to Elkhart, IN, for the Central Zones Swim Meet, my head was spinning. We needed space for our family of five to feel like this was a fun adventure rather than trekking five hours away to watch big sis swim for four days. Ponader House to the rescue! We were able to spread out, the kids each claimed their space/bedrooms, and we were able to use our limited downtime to tour Notre Dame. While it was a tiring long weekend, the kids were sad to leave the house. Lisa was very responsive and attended promptly to all of our questions and requests. Thank you!

The house is charming and inviting. We were busy all week but wish we had more time to enjoy all the wonderful things about this house. We did enjoy a little time on the sun porch. It was super clean and had everything we needed to make an enjoyable week in South Bend. Lisa was fantastic and took care of all needs. Quick communication with her. We all loved it.

My sister, my dad and myself rented this beautiful home to spend a few days with family who live nearby. Upon arrival, we instantly felt at home and knew we had made the right choice. The house was not only immaculate and charming but had everything we needed to prepare family meals together. The spacious dining room allowed us to be together to eat and to share laughs. We also enjoyed sitting in the beautiful sun room which was the perfect size for our group.
Not only did we enjoy the inside of the home, but the peaceful setting included watching a family of deer, rabbits, and other small wildlife in the backyard.
The memories that were made in this home will last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing it with us. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at this beautiful home while our daughter's attended a summer conference at Notre Dame. The house is beautiful, cozy and very clean. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The home is located on a very quiet street and is close to Notre Dame, great restaurants and shopping. Best of all were Mike and Lisa who communicated with us along the way with advice on things to do to weather alerts as summer storms were approaching. We loved the home, the area and were so impressed with the care Mike and Lisa took to making our stay a great one. Would recommend a stay at this wonderful home. We can only imagine how enjoyable a stay here would be during football season given it proximity to Notre Dame.

Great house near ND campus! Enjoyed the stay!

We had just a few days to be together and decided to try renting a home vs commercial setting to make the most of our visit.
We certainly picked the winner! First of all, Lisa and Mike are phenomenal hosts! Quick to respond, caring, offering clear direction. The home, in addition to being beautifully cared for and comfortable, had every item you could possibly need for a stay. Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative and we didn’t get a chance to use the spacious back yard for grilling out or gathering around the fire pit. But we hope to be back!
While the house itself is located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood (we had a deer visit the backyard) good restaurants, stores and shopping are only minutes away and easily accessible.

We stayed at Ponader for ND Graduation Weekend and it was just perfect! It is close to campus and has plenty of comfortable space for the family to gather. The house is super charming, cozy, very well maintained and clean. It is, also, very well equipped. Lisa responds quickly and is always ready to help. We really appreciated the welcome basket which included goodies for our grad. We would definitely go back!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here! The house is so nice, and it is very clean. We loved the decor and all of the "extras" this house offers. The welcome basket was a great touch, and the binder of information that listed popular restaurants in the area was appreciated. The beds are extremely comfortable. Overall, the house is very welcoming. If we are ever back in the area for another game, we will definitely try to book this property again!

What a lovely home this is. There was plenty of space, the amenities were perfect, the decor was nice and it was very cozy. We dis have a problem with the water not having enough pressure but once I contacted the owner, there was a plumber there ASAP. The issue was quickly resolved. This made me feel very good and confident with the owner's response time. A little joy that we found each day was in the deer visiting the backyard...super cute! I would definitely rent this place again!

This is a very cute, well decorated, full kitchen, update house minutes from ND campus. The neighborhood/lot is a cozy, wooded, secluded area tucked away on "old" South Bend. Perfect for ND events. We'll be back!

My daughter, who used to live in South Bend, said this is the nicest home she’s ever seen in the area. It was very clean, the furnishings are lovely, and the beds were extremely comfortable and cozy!
The owners left enough of the original cabinetry and touches to honor the house’s origins, while also updating and freshening in a more modern way. The decor felt very warm and positive.
The welcome basket with chocolate, gourmet popcorn and beers was a wonderful touch. We loved staying in Ponader House, and will certainly be back!
