**Please note: We DO have central heating. As in most homes in this area, Air Conditioning is not provided and rarely needed. If necessary, the windows do open and there are oscillating fans in closets and ceiling fans in two bedrooms.
**We do not have direct mountain views. Hattie’s hideout has lots of trees all around. The color-changing leaves are lovely in the Fall.
**We have a pest control service, but here in the mountains near the trees, bugs and little creatures will still find their way inside between cleanings and exterminating. This is all part of living near the woods. Perhaps you will agree that the beauty is worth a little sacrifice.
**There are two flights of stairs and no elevator. The driveway splits and leads to the middle/main level and the bottom level of the house. The people staying on the main level won't ever have to use the stairs if they'd rather not.
**The lower driveway is semi-steep; 4-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended in the winter.
OUTDOOR SPACE: Step outside onto the spacious deck and immerse yourself in nature. Enjoy your morning coffee while spotting the deer or gather around the fire table in the evening for a cozy conversation over a glass of wine.

The game room is located right off the bunk room and includes a movie area with sleeper sofa, arcade games, and Giant Jenga as well as board games, cards, and a toddler table.
THE MAIN/MIDDLE FLOOR showcases the living room and kitchen space with two decks, one to the propane grill and one to the fire table. The living room contains a smart TV and extra hidden seating in the ottoman. A large dining room table and bar seating allows for family and friends to gather ‘round near the fully stocked kitchen. A traditional drip coffee maker, a French press, and a Keurig single cup coffee maker are provided. The open floor plan enables groups to be together for cooking, dining, and relaxing. This level also includes a King master bedroom with walk-through full bathroom. This bedroom closet contains a booster highchair, a Pack 'n play bed, an audio baby monitor, and nightlights...perfect for a family with little ones. Toddlers and infants are more than welcome to stay, but please be aware that this house is not child-proofed inside or out; young children will need to be watched at all times.

Great location for Land of Oz and Tweetsie. Perfect layout for multiple families with kids. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

My family all met within the week, some for the whole week and some came and went quicker. There was plenty of room for us all and everyone really enjoyed the time we got to spend together.
We visited Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and of course our main reason was Oz. All were within 10-20 minutes from the house so it was very convenient. We definitely recommend this house for the area!!

We loved our stay in Banner Elk. We have been several times before but this was our first time staying in this VRBO. We will definitely be back. It was so clean and large. Plenty of space for the 9 of us. Our kids had an absolute blast in the game room downstairs. It was very convenient being able to put them to bed while still enjoying some adult time upstairs. The property manager was extremely communicative and responded quickly. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

This was a perfect house to stay at in Banner Elk and was very close to the main street in Banner Elk making it incredibly convenient. The instructions and communication with Kelsey were super clear and she made us feel very welcome.
The house was immaculate and the hot tub was an extra bonus! Overall the experience was a 10/10 and will definitely be staying here again in the future!

We had a wonderful time and the house was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The location was close to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. The views and environment were so relaxing. Great open floor plan and large dining area. Kelsey was a wonderful host and very responsive. She went out of her way to check on us throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

Great property and great location to split time between sugar mountain, beech mountain, and downtown banner elk. Awesome game/play room for little kids (2-8 years old). Very peaceful location. Great spot for multiple families too!

Great place to stay! Plenty of room for our 2 families and everything was well organized and stocked. The commute to Sugar Mountain was not too far away. It was secluded despite a house up the hill (we never saw anyone home). Highly recommend

I cannot express fully how wonderful of a stay we had at this cabin. We all slept and lived comfortably, and we had super easy access to Boone and surrounding areas. Cannot recommend this cabin enough. We're so grateful to have had a comfortable place to retreat and rest in the Blue Ridge.

We had a ton of fun in our winter vacation. It is hard to beat the location of this property, just minutes away from our two favorite ski resorts in NC (Ski Beech and Sugar Mountain). The house is also very close to Banner Elk’s main street, which made it super easy to get hot chocolate at the local cafe right after a full day of skiing.
Our kids loved the game room with the foosball table and the arcades. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and more importantly, clean.
Communication with our hosts was another highlight. They were super responsive and friendly. They provided detailed instructions that made the check-in and check-out process very easy.
I would stay again in this property.

I would rate a 5 star to this comfortable cabin. It has everything we needed to enjoy our days at Banner Elk. It was convenient located closed to attractions and outdoor activities for our entire family. We also enjoy taking pictures while seating around the fire pit outside of the house. The cabin was clean and sanitized and there was plenty of space for the kids to play at the playroom. The checkin and check out process was super easy. Kelsey, the host was always attentive and available to our needs. Thanks Kelsey and Lucas for letting us stay at your beautiful place. We would recommend it to our friends and hope to come back next year!!

We just spent 4 wonderful nights at Hattie’s Hideout over Thanksgiving with our extended family. The home was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for 12 people of various ages. The kitchen was well equipped and provided lots of seating for our Thanksgiving dinner.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay there! I highly recommend Hattie’s Hideout for your family getaway!
