Such lovely hosts and location. The sheer history of the place was so rich. Jenny is a wonderful host. She is generous and kind, proud of their b & b and rightfully so.
We were passing through but it is so worth staying a couple of days. Highly recommended.

I only stayed one night but was not disappointed. Really relaxing, comfy bed, wonderful breakfast and the hosts went out of their way to make me welcome. Would recommend.

The wonderful people who run the b&b are top of the world.
The room could be a bit smarter with little input.

I cannot rate breakfast as I didn't, have any, I felt the cleanliness was not up to standard, I expected a continental breakfast in the room breakfast was served in the dining room which I didn't,t feel comfortable with. The room itself was very tired and not veryclean as was the rest of the areas, the bathroom was up to date with a nice shower which ididn,t use , it was not cleaned well but my partner used it and said the shower was good. I understand it is an old farmhouse, but that doesn't,t mean it shouldn't,t be clean to a decent standard, staining on carpets which were dirty, cigarette burns on sofa and stains , pretty run down. The lady was friendly and her opening line as she showed os the room was it needs decorating, we didn't, stay in the room at all except to sleep. I didn't,t want to spend any time in it. The view from the window was lovely ,although I wasn't,t there long enough to appreciate it much.

Stunning setting. Beautiful view. Gorgeous slice of countryside. Room was spacious and somewhat comfortable. Bill was very chatty and made us feel welcome.
Thick dusty cobwebs around lights and wall lamps. Spiders and cobwebs in bathroom basin cupboard filled with dusty used painting materials so inaccessible for guests. Carpets worn and not particularly well hoovered in areas of the bedroom and bathroom. Window sill in bathroom and dining area need a clean. Unusually unwelcoming-sounding commentary around dietary requirements despite giving plenty of notice, such that we felt like an encumbrance.
The house is not solely a BnB: it has private tenants and is also a family home, with rooms juggled between family, tenants, and guests.
We booked breakfast for 07:30 but at the arranged time found ourselves in a silent dining room and were not greeted for a very long time, after which we waited quite some time for our breakfast (offered as "I'll give you what I've got"). Thus our day started half an hour later than planned (longer had we not shortened our morning walk) impacting on a day of planned family visits around the Midlands.
Whilst the house was utterly gorgeous in a beautiful setting, we would be unable to return due to the strange hospitality and the need for a cleaner and cobweb/spider removal. It's a shame because with a little more care this would be a wonderful BnB.

The owner was a lovely woman who cares about the customer since your arrival. It is a great place and I am sure I will come back soon. They have a nice breakfast

We loved our stay. Homely. Very friendly. Good food. Spacious. What more can I say. Sorry we have no internal photos.
We had our own bathroom which was really nice but we would have preferred en-suite. But it was not really a problem. As our bathroom was next to our bedroom.

Loved the room with a view! Very comfortable bed and water and milk were brought up to the room.
If we had known to bring a rod or two, we would have done so.
The landlady was delightful and was able to tell us about the history of Atherstone and the surrounding area.
Having an ensuite would have been preferable but we did have exclusive use of a large bathroom just outside our door - if you are someone who frequently gets up in the night, this may not be for you. There were a few cobwebs but to be expected in a house of this age so if you want spotless modern, this also isn't the place for you. It was perfect for us.

The location was beautiful. Bill and Jenny were a lovely couple and very welcoming.
There was nothing to dislike
4.6
The location was excellent, so relaxing and the hosts were very friendly and gave some tips about local places to visit and eat. Jen catered for our request of a very early breakfast by putting food aside for us to have extremely early.
The shower had broken, but was still usable.

Abbey B&B was outstanding! Such brilliant value for money in a stunning setting. I couldn't believe how beautiful the old building and grounds were (including a lake!). I didn't manage to eat the breakfast due to an early morning work commitment but sure it would have been great. Lovely, welcoming hosts too - couldn't do more
Wifi was a little bit disappointing - when I connected I had 1 bar

Whilst bathroom was private it was separate to the room
