We were blown away by the magnificance of this property. Having a private pool is an added bonus which came in useful when the weather wasn't great.
It's a perfect retreat or those looking to escape to a peaceful location, but within walking distance of several restaurants near the river Orne. It's also a short drive to several pretty villages where you'll find supermarkets, boulangeries etc.
The owners are always on hand to answer questions if needed.

Beautiful house with all the comforts of home including a large garden and heated pool. Booking was easy and the host ensured we had all information about the house and local area etc. Super place for a family holiday.

We loved the stay in this beautiful house in a lovely landscape. The kitchen is perfect for 8 peoples.
There are several areas to sit inside or in the great garden. The pool is heated and have a good size.
All of our group loved the stay and would come back for another holiday.

Incredible house and an excellent location. 4 adults and 3 children spent 1 week at the house in aug 2022 and absolutely loved it! The house is elegantly designed and the pool / gardens (huge!!) are amazing.
Would definitely return.

We have rented holiday homes in France many times but this was the best by some distance. The house is lovely- very well equipped and furnished. Gardens are huge and the pool is great. We took our dogs who were in heaven. Walks are stunning although some very steep slopes. Highly highly recommend.

My family had the most amazing stay at this property for a week in early September. The grounds, the house, the pool, the countryside we’re all completely amazing. We will recommend this property to all our friends. We might go back to France just to vacation here for another week!

This house is a must see. The house is ancient and has a very good atmosphere. The location is marvelous. So much privacy and yet so close to Clécy, a lovely village. All the sights are pretty nearby too. (D-Day beaches, Honfleur, Deauville etc). We are a Dutch family, have been here twice and the whole family enjoyed themselves a lot.

This beautiful home was perfect for our family's stay in Normandy. It is spacious and perfectly appointed. The lovely terraces and pool gave us a chance to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The property owner was great to work with and the property manager was a delight. The only drawback was my limited French vocabulary, but the property manager was incredibly patient. The town of Clecy is charming and the owner's recommendations were spot-on. I highly recommend booking this fantastic home.

Situated in the quaint village of Clecy. A family of 7 staying for 3 nights over New Years Eve. From the moment we arrived we knew we would love our stay. Dominique was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. We loved the character of the 17th century manor and made the most of the beautiful fireplace. Great cooking facilities, amenities and so close to beautiful nearby walks. We would definitely stay here again, would love to come back in the summer.

Looking for a peaceful stay for two kids (8 and 2 years old) and a pregnant mum, we could not have found a better place than La Pelleterie. The house, nicely designed and perfectly maintened , is a the same time bucolic and close to all amenities. Since the weather was very nice, we had lunch as well as dinner outside, under an impressive tree which gave us shade, and made a good use of the barbecue. The heated swimming pool had a great success with our girls, as did the swing. My husband and older daugher tested the "summer sledge", a local attraction, and canonnying on the river, both very close to the house. We were warmly welcomed by Mme Juin, who was very flexible about the time arrival, and had prepared all the kid equipment (bed + linen and chair). We were also nicely surprised to find a few things to eat and basic daily products, when you usually have to buy the all stuff at your arrival. The only weak point would be the internet, quite irregular, but the splendid view from "the office" easily compensate this minor inconvenience .

The house is unbelievable, lovely rooms, good beds, quiet surroundings.. all the space you would need. The pool is a great asset too, fun to play in and to cool off on a warm summers day.
We loved the house and would definitely come back again.

Hallo Dominique,
De woning was geweldig, ontbijten aan de grote tafel onder de boom,
Natuurlijk genieten van het zwembad met mooi terras en s’avonds relaxen o de lounge stoelen.
Clecy vonden we heel charmant en de bakkerij daar top!

What an amazing place! As another reviewer said, the photos really do not do it justice. It's a huge property, beautifully and artistically restored and decorated! Yet, apart from on the staircase (where he would be carried) there was very little within our 1 year olds reach so we weren't constantly worried about him breaking things. Also we were a bit worried about keeping him away from the stairs, but you can close the kitchen/ bedroom doors to block access to the stairs.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mme. Juin who was very friendly and showed us where everything was in the house.
The kitchen was very well equipped with high end appliances, we cooked a lot and found every utensil we needed. One small but very useful addition would be an electric kettle for us tea drinkers, rather than having to boil the kettle on the hob. The downstairs toilet was very handy, we hadn't realised there was a toilet on the ground floor.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful and enormous! All of the beds were very large and very comfortable. Myself, my husband and our 3 children all slept on the 2nd floor and shared a bathroom, our toddler slept in a good quality cot bed with a comfortable mattress.
The living room was cosy with comfortable sofas, although it would have been nice to have a tv in the living room and not just in the master bedroom.
The swimming pool was a huge hit! We swam every day, the pool is large and warm and access can be completely blocked off from children.
The grounds were very large, our older children loved playing outside, spotting birds of prey, woodpeckers, swallows, lizards, grasshoppers and a toad!
The house is completely private and not overlooked yet you are only a couple of minutes drive from beautiful Clecy.
Clecy town centre has some lovely small shops and a few restaurants, most looking on to a pretty square. There are plenty of activities near by, we took the children climbing, canoeing, to the luge and miniature railway museum, all just a couple of minutes away by car.
They also did a pony grooming and ride which was a bargain at €14 for nearly 2 hours at La Cour Anteol. A bit further away, we spent a lovely day at Omaha beach.
It would have been really great if the wifi connection was better, it was a little disappointing that we could not access wifi in the living room.
I would highly recommend this property, Dominque, the owner, was helpful and answered our enquiries very quickly.

La Pelleterie is Normandy holiday perfection. The authentic, but modernized, farm house and outbuildings are located in a completely private and beautiful country setting. The swimming pool is under cover in the renovated barn and we enjoyed both sunny and rainy days there. The house is so well designed and has many conveniences. The property is perfectly situated to nearly all of the Normandy attractions. It is within a half mile of lovely restaurants and boat rentals yet none of that can be seen or heard from the house. It is a picturesque one mile walk to the village of Clecy for baked goods and groceries. We have rented dozens of homes in a variety of locations and this home was certainly a favorite!

It is rare that the pictures of a rental property do not do the property justice, but this is certainly the case for this property. This amazingly restored building is set in a wonderful rural location. We were a party of 8 with two children, who loved having their own floor to themselves. As well as the lovely pool. With so much space we were able to play games, BBQ and drink in the lovely evening sun, making wonderful memories. The surrounding area has plenty to do, with river boats, a lovely local town with a bakery which we visited everyday for fresh bread and croissants.
