This property is located within a minute's walk of pubs with paddle boat hire, most shops bars, cafes and restaurants. You can also comfortably walk to Norwich train station, Norwich market and all the large indoor shopping malls located in the town centre. You are only a forty-five-minute drive from the magnificent cost line when heading to the beach. Without a doubt, Elm Hill is the most famous street in Norwich. It is also the most complete medieval street in the city. A major fire destroyed almost everything in 1507, but the properties were rebuilt, and now we can enjoy a beautiful cobbled street with merchant's houses, thatching, individual homes, speciality shops, and small cafes.
Elm Hill is a photographer's dream; whatever the season it retains its character and beauty. In summer, wander around browsing shops such as The Bear Shop, a quaint little place specializing in bears and collectables. In autumn, wonder at the rich colours of the falling leaves. In winter, it is so Christmassy and charming, and in Spring, a new life starts to form, making Elm Hill bright and vibrant. Explore craft shops, antiques, and galleries, and visit tea shops, coffee houses, and delis. The history behind this street is intriguing.
Take your own tour of the area using an Elm Hill Norwich Trail map (buy them from the Norwich TIC or selected shops in the Cathedral Quarter). One of the most well-known buildings is The Britons Arms, the only survivor of the 1507 fire. The building is early Tudor, formally an inn and very much in demand as a film location. A trip to Elm Hill is only complete with a visit to this cobbled street.
We aim to make your check-in process as efficient as possible. You can check in online using a link we'll provide. Simply register the names of all guests and provide an up-to-date mobile number. We'll then reach out to you with the easiest method to access the keys.
Apartment is spreadover the ground and first floor of this building. Shower room and toilet on the upper floor and an independent toilet on the ground floor. This property comes with parking for 3 cars or two vans
Many parts of the city have restricted access to cars and pedestrianised areas so that visitors can make the most of the city shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, and parks. Booking an apartment with parking is a must (if you have a car) unless you are willing to pay for a multiple-story car park during your stay in Norwich. Unless you are heading to the beach, about a 35-minute drive away. Walking or e-scooter or peddle bike hire is the best way to see Norwich canal, walkways, hidden alleyways and historical gems, as many streets are pedestrian-only. Lots of free maps are available around town at tourist spots. The city also has a one way system that diverts traffic around the city centre and away from the pedestrianised street.
