Pendene Villa is a big private property with private pool and air-conditioning. The pool is fenced for children's security.
We keep our villa well maintained and pristine. If you have contact in Mauritius we recommend that you have the villa checked out before reserving. Even though the villa sleeps 11 people it can accommodate up to 14 with a bit of flexibility and creativity. So, if your group exceeds 11 just ask and we can discuss sleeping arrangements. PENDENE is a spacious detached villa only 10/15 minutes walking distance from the best bathing beach in Pereybere and a similar distance from Grand Baie - Mauritians shopping and nightlife 'capital'. A 10 minute drive is Mont Choisy - one of the largest sandy beaches on the island. Supermarket and local produce shopping is less than 10 minutes away. The colonial style villa has balconies front and back and views for miles.
The villa has a large private pool and big patio area with barbecue and tropical gardens front and back. It is discreetly managed by husband and wife team Garcon & Baby, who will be there to greet you on arrival, show you where everything is and help you get settled in with the minimum of fuss. A lovely villa that provided a wonderful base to travel around the island. Conveniently located in the lovely Perybere and near to Grand Baie. Nitish and Pooja were very welcoming and made our stay like a home from home.

The house keepers family is adorable and always there to help. The house is huge so is the pool. Very complete equipment and appliances. Quiet neighbourhood just 5 ms away from Grand Baie by car.

Absoluty LOVED our time in Mauritius a few areas that could be updated- Manual needed for telly as we couldnt get it to work, general odd jobs- clips around mirrors were rusty in bathrooms.
Railing around pool update pictures on website to show they are now there.
Surrounding work on villas was noisy and disrupted our peace & quiet, even the children didnt want to go in the pool! But it soon settled after a few days. You need to advertise the fact you have a huge book case full of various books & board games, also snorkling gear, buckets & spades and various other little suprises.
100% Garson & baby credit to your business, whom were, kind, accommodating, nothing was too much hasstle, they were always helpful and Garson even too us shopping and sorted out a hire car for us. Baby cooked us the most delightful meal & kept dropping off little treats like fresh avocado, papaya & pancakes. Property was as per the photos on the website. It was clean and very spacious. Even with 8 people it never felt crowded. Loved the holiday and the villa helped make the holiday special. It had a nice large pool which was used daily. It was well maintained and had everything we needed. My brother even stated that he would miss the villa as it was perfect for our needs.

We had a wonderful time at Pendene Villa over the Christmas period. It was large enough for all our needs, despite there being ten people in our group, including three couples and a family of three. All of the rooms are large and airy, and fitted with air conditioning, which was very welcome in the +30 temperatures!
Our holiday was also a family reunion, and the villa was the perfect place to congregate throughout the day. We spent many evenings on the patio, organising lunchtime barbeques and playing in the pool. In fact we spent so much time outside that we never really made use of the huge lounge / dining area, although some of the younger members of the group played video games.
The caretaker Garcon and his wife, Baby, were very helpful - particularly when it came to booking taxis, and his son very kindly gave us a lift into Pereybere one evening.
Wish we were still there!

Villa magnifique, descriptif et photos conformes à la réalité, à 15 minutes à pied de la très belle plage de PEREYBERE et des commerces, sinon bus à 5 minutes de la villa.
Villa très propre, très belle piscine et que dire de BABY et GARCON, ce sont des gens adorables, très discrets mais très attentionnés et attentifs au bien être des vacanciers. Les repas mauriciens de BABY sont excellents et les petites crêpes du matin un régal ! Nous avons versé notre petite larme lors de notre départ tant nous avons apprécié nos vacances, la gentillesse et l'investissement de BABY et GARCON pour des vacances inoubliables. Notre petite groupe de 7 personnes est rentré enchanté avec l'idée d'y revenir très très vite tant les mauriciens sont chaleureux et l'île magnifique. Un grand merci à WENDY qui a fait que notre séjour reste inoubliable ! nous n'avons qu'une hâte, c'est d'y retourner ! A très bientôt alors !!!

When we arrived at the property we pretty much dived into the fantastic pool straight away - it was so inviting! The house is really lovely, huge lounge and dining area.a very well equipped kitchen and an amazing hall and staircase - very grand!. The master bedroom is massive, the bed is huge and comfortable and the en-suite is lovely! The master bedroom leads out onto the balcony overlooking the pool and coconut trees. The house sleeps 10 and all the bedrooms were large. Garcon and Baby looked after us beautifully, we enjoyed home-cooked Mauritian food and fresh coconuts. Garcon booked our trips for us and organised a hire car so the whole holiday was completely stress-free! I would recommend a villa over a hotel as it gives complete independence whilst maintaining that luxury holiday feel. Definitely a five star holiday!

This property is as extacly as it looks. We had a great family stay and was totally impressed with the size and comfort this villa offers. Totally equipped with everything you need. The private pool was big with lots of sun loungers. The listing was accurate the property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend it to all my friends,family and Colleagues. Booking,paying and arriving were done with ease. Thanks to Baby and Garson who were on hand for any help we needed even though we are from Mauritius just them being there made a difference. Thanks to Wendy as well who attended to us from the booking date until arrival.

First of all the paperwork and ease of arranging the much planned holiday was very straightforward due to Wendy's ability to listen.
The villa was as described regarding the location that I wanted, away from too much bustle and suited our needs. The villa was grand, the rooms, a luxury! The pool was just a delight to my grandchildren, they forgot their tablet!
The property was clean and well maintained by Mohan and his wife Anita and they were always ready to assist us with anything: shopping, direction, information and advise on places to visit even posting last minute postcards. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Anita even provided us with an occasional vegan dish for a vegan daughter.
I certainly will recommend the property to my relatives and friends.
As Mauritius is my country of origin we moved around the island visiting friends and relatives and apart from food shopping did not stay in the area for the majority of activities and dining out but the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the beach and did some bird watching too.
It was a great holiday for all and always good to come home to the villa for a comfortable night sleep.

The villa is beautiful set in a lovely quiet area on a road with few neighbours. We arrived to a lovely warm welcome from Baby and Garçon who look after the villa and the guests impeccably and were on hand whenever we needed them. Garçon even let me use his motorbike one day! There are palm trees in the gardens, a lovely pool at the back of the villa and a large outdoor dining area where we enjoyed days and evenings relaxing with drinks and bbq's! The villa itself is amazing. As we entered through the large double doors into a huge entrance lobby we couldn't believe how big yet homely the place was! There is a grand staircase and doors to a bedroom, huge beautifully furnished lounge/dining room, large kitchen with large dining table a utility room with amazing top loading washing machine (which was a god send!) and a wc/shower room. Upstairs is equally grand with 1 huge gorgeous master bedroom with en-suite and amazing sloping ceilings and 2 or 3 more really large bedrooms (there were only 4 of us so can't remember exactly!) all of the rooms have access out onto a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. And there is another wc/shower room! We really couldn't fault a thing. Baby and garçon helped us to plan some amazing days out through their contacts at really great prices and as their guests we were treated like royalty! One day we went on a catamaran trip to explore an island where we had drinks and lunch cooked for us! We swam in the sea and snorkelled, they provided snorkels-we were even taken out on a little motor dinghy to see sea turtles swimming which was absolutely unforgettable! They also helped my family arrange a private catamaran trip for my birthday just the four of us where we watched the sun set whilst sipping champagne, again truly magical! We hired a car for the 2 weeks we were there (with the help of Baby & Garçon) and we really explored! There is so much to see on such a small island! We swam in waterfalls, visited countless paradise beaches (there are plenty in walking distance) went to a wildlife/safari park where we zip lined across gorges, walked around the incredibly vibrant capital, went horse riding, took in some history at a beautiful old colonial estate, experienced some amazing horse racing and meditated at beautiful Hindu temples to name but a few things we enjoyed!!! Honestly, at every restaurant we ate the food was good, in most cases it was exceptional and the street food is delicious everywhere! (Dohl purée a must!)

This villa is a nice change from the normal small holiday apartments. This villa is just space, space and more space. The rooms are huge, the kitchen, dining room and lounge are also. It has a great outdoor entertainment area by the large pool. The house has everything you need to enjoy your holiday. The TV could be a bit bigger as it gets a bit lost in the huge lounge. However we only spent an hour or two watching movies, so not a big deal. If you are stuck inside for a couple of days because of a cyclone, it may be a problem.
The caretaker, Garcon, and his wife are very friendly and helpful although you need to be a little wary of his referrals to restaurants. Pretty sure they up the prices a fair bit and he takes a nice cut.
The house is about 1.6 km from the Pereybere public beach. Don’t get stuck at this beach though, as the beaches 5 to 10 minutes’ drive up and down the coast are fantastic.

We spent two weeks at Pendene in early February . The villa is spacious and very well presented, plenty of room for 3 adults and 5 children. All bedrooms are generous in size and air conditioned. Big kitchen, very nice open living room and a good size pool, which the children loved. (regularly cleaned). The size of the villa allowed people to have their own quiet time, if they wanted.
Garcon & Bebe are both very friendly and welcoming. If we needed help arranging anything - transport, food for parties, days out etc - they were happy to help. Having them so close was a bonus. Good location, quiet, but not too far from a main road. Walking distance to Pereybere and Grand Baie. Bus stop is less than a 5 minute walk.
My only quibble is that the air conditioning in the living room didn't work. At that time of year, being without air-con is certainly noticeable. However, on contacting Wendy, Garcon had set-up a big fan within a couple of hours. In no way did this ruin our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pendene, and i wouldn't hesitate in recommending the villa to friends, or stay here again. Wendy was very helpful throughout and provides an excellent service.

The villa is as impressive as the photos. The villa is huge and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There were six of us (2 couples and 2 single people) so there was more than enough room. The pool was excellent and larger than we expected. The villa had all the facilities we expected, a big kitchen, barbecue, 4 bathrooms.
We all loved are stay here the location is excellent. It's a short walk to Pereybere and to Grand Baie. Garcon was more than helpful and organised excellent island trips for us. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
Wendy was very helpful with organising our stay - thank you. We hope to return to Mauritius at some point and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Villa for 4 amazing weeks and felt like it was a home away from home.
All the bedrooms were very spacious with lots of wardrobe space and a fridge in each room.
The living area was very comfortable with lots of light flowing throughout the villa. All rooms are also air conditioned .
The pool was cleaned on a regular basis and the patio area was nice to relax during the day and evenings with plenty of lighting outside and especially for family BBQS.
We were well looked after although we are not new to mauritius and arranged most of our sightseeing and evenings out our self's.
I would highly recommend The villa to all who are looking for a little bit of luxury in the heart of paradise.
Look forward to returning soon in the future.

Perebyere Villa was recommneded to us for a family holiday in Mauritius and we are so glad we chose to stay there.The booking was made easy by wendy, she was always accomodating to our requests and prompt and efficiant is processing our booking and answering any queries we had,
We travelled during August and upon arrival at the Villa Perebyere were very impressed. We were a party of 4 adults and 4 children and Wendy had arranged mini bus transport from the Airport with plenty of room for all of us and our luggage. The Villa is very big, and well laid out with plenty of room for everyone. It has lovely gardens and terrace areas and a nice swimming pool. The Villa has all the amenities and stuff needed to support a big family. We were met by Garcon the caretaker and he showed us everything we needed to know about inside the Villa and was always available should he have had any further need. The location is very good. Just down the road from Grand Baie and Perebyere which have beautiful local beaches. Grand Baie is great for walking, shopping, eating, drinking. Many an evening was sat with the kids enjoying Pizzas overlooking the bay. There is a big Supermarket (Super U) nearby where we could stop to get what we needed for self catering at the Villa.
All in all it was a great experience from making initial contact with Wendy for the booking, through to the day we departed and left for the Airport.
Highly recommended to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful Island of Mauritius.

Basing from the reviews that I've read I decided to try this apartment. Good thing I trusted my instincts because it turned out to be a great decision. The villa was awesome! The staff catered to my needs are very friendly. While I stayed for only 3 nights, the experience I had was truly amazing.

This villa is from far the best villa I've ever rented in my whole life. And I've rented so many over the years. The photos do not do it any justice really as it was stunning. The whole property was so clean. Garson and Bebe are two amazing people. Soo friendly. They catered to every single one of our needs, from the second we set foot there to the second we left the property; without being intrusive. There's so much to say about this property but even my comments wouldn't do it any justice. So all I can say is, I couldn't believe that in my life I've managed to rent such a property for so cheap. I will definitely be going back very soon and have already recommended it to so many people. Thank you Wendy and Raj. And thank you Garson and Bebe for making my stay in Mauritius an amazing one. My partner and I stayed in this villa for 11 nights and found everything as described by Wendy the owner who was very helpful during the booking process. It is clean, well appointed and Garcon the on-site manager and his wife Bebe are super helpful in recommending and booking trips (you must do the Gabriel Island catamaran!). The villa is located on the outskirts of Pereybere which is a nice suburban area and away from the noise of Grand Baie. There are loads of places to visit and explore in this part of the island. We felt secure in the property but like all the other houses, the presence of walled gardens and barred windows remind you to be vigilant at night. (It's located down an unfinished rutted road but don't let that put you off). After finding our bearings it was only a 10-15min walk to the stunning local beach but I would recommend hiring a car as the best local supermarket (Super U) is too far to walk (plus walking is a bit hazardous on the local roads as pavements are scarce on the island!). Wendy offered a local car rental that was very good value for money and you pay cash when it's delivered but do make sure you insist on checking the car over for existing problems before signing the form which is offered. We were charged 800MRUs for a lost plastic hub cab during our rental.
I would happily stay here again and recommend it as the privacy and peacefulness helps you relax. Garcon is not intrusive and his dogs provide added security comfort. Plus Bebe's cooking is great if you are lucky enough to be offered a sample!

Nine of us enjoyed a fantastic holiday in this delightful villa. It was very spacious, clean and very homely.The bedrooms and lounge are very comfortable and airy, and the kitchen was well equipped so we were able to cook as we would do at home.
Wendy (the owner) seems to have thought of everything in terms of equipping guests with those very useful items for a family holiday- rucksacks, cooler bag, snorkels and other beach gear. We were very impressed!
Garcon and Bebe (who look after the property and guests during their stay) are wonderful - so helpful and friendly. Garcon was excellent in arranging taxis, excursions, transport to suit our needs.
The villa is a 15 minute walk from Pereybere beach but, once we'd sorted out the directions with Garcon, we went there regularly. We have visited Mauritius before and we love Pereybere which has a well kept public beach which is great for families. It is very clean as are many beaches in Mauritius. We enjoyed the sunset sitting at the beach cafe with a nice cold beer.
As it is advisable to drink bottled water in Mauritus, we took water purification tablets with us, which saved us having to carry lots of bottles from the supermarket. Also take a torch as walking along some roads in the dark may not be easy.
Our holiday party ranged in age from my mother who is in her late 70s to my daughter who is 3 and we were all very pleased with our stay at Pendene villa.

Everything is just as it says on the website.We had a fantastic 3 week stay in the rainy month of January,( we actually only had 2 half days with showers ) .On previous visits to Mauritius we have stayed in hotels but after using Pendene villa we would not go back to using hotels.
The villa is really impressive with large airy rooms & balconies ample air conditioning & fans ( and was it hot !! ).Large swimming pool & beautiful gardens to relax in.
Garcon, Bebe and family really do go out of their way to ensure you have a stay to remember.( Dont be afraid to ask Bebe to cook ,her meals are second to none ).
Excellent local restaurants & Bars .
Would recommend hiring a car and touring the island. (somethingyou wouldnt do stuck in a hotel)
Dont be afraid to pick the phone up and speak to Wendy,she is really helpful with anything you may need.
Would recommend this Villa to anyone , especially a family group as it is so spacious.

This was our 6th visit to Mauritius in the last 10 years, and I must say that this villa is the best we have stayed at in all of those visits. From our first contact with Wendy (owner), she was very prompt and detailed in meeting our queries.
Where do I start to describe this villa. The villa itself is impeccably clean and spacious. The grounds are green and lush with a huge pool and multiple comfortable lounge chairs.By the way our 2 teenage daughters and their 2 teenage cousins did not have any interest in going to the beach as they were more than content to stay in the pool all day.
We were 11 in all(up to 14 at dinner some nights when friends came by), however, never felt on top of each other in this huge villa.The bedrooms were large and comfortable with plenty of drawer and chest space to put your things. The master bedroom is huge ....you could play a game of soccer in it !
All the bathrooms were clean with well maintained functioning plumbing( unlike other places we have stayed before ). The dining /living area was as well very, very large.... accomodating all of us until the wee hours of the morning without being on one another. Each group had their own little area while all being in the same room.
My wife loved the large kitchen with the multitude of glassware, dishes,pots and pans( again unlike other places we have stayed at on the island).Another great asset is the washing machine , which with that many people, came in handy for keeping up with the laundry.
Lastly , both Garcon and bebe were a pleasure to have nearby as their recommendations to restaurants(eg Happy Rajah ) and their prompt attention to our needs were met in an expeditious and friendly manner.
I would have no problem recommending this villa as it met AND EXCEEDED our needs in all the following areas: spaciousness,value for $ spent, cleanliness, comfort and quiet location. My family and I look forward to working with Wendy again in the future, the next trip we take to Mauritius.

Lovely spacious rooms. Garcon the caretaker was very helpful. The wi fi worked very well and we enjoyed our stay. The pool is huge and was a massive relief during the day. I enjoyed that it was relatively central and that we could walk to the beach. The dogs can be annoying so if you are not a dog lover you should ask garcon to lock them up. I missed not having satelite or a flat screen though. some equipment problems witht he dishwasher and aircon in one of the rooms which wasnt resolved.

Spacious with good facilities. Caretaker on premises for any hassles, well maintained and clean. More that adequate accomodation for a large group of more that 10 person. Had problems with the dishwasher and it was not fixed adequately for the latter part of the stay. Easy access to beach and bus for travel. Arranged hired mini-bus trips to other part of the island.

We spent 3 weeks at Pendine Villa near Pereybere beach summer 2009.Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 teenagers so we had tons of room in the villa which is extremely well maintained and appointed, really big , with loads of extras like books, games, hairdryers, pool toys, bbq, etc. The booking process was easy with plenty of tips from the owners, and when we arrived we were unbelieveably well looked after by Garcon and his wife Bebe who live very close and are keen to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. The location is good , within an easy walk to Pereybere however we hired a car at very good rates and travelled around to various beaches as well. I think if you go for self catering over the hotel route you experience a lot more of the real Mauritius without being ripped off by the hoteliers. Eating out is generally very reasonable and everyone is very friendly. We would defiintely recommend the villa and Mauritius overall as a holiday destination.

This was my first visit to Mauritius for myself and my partner. We really enjoyed the villa and what it provided. We didn't hire a car as it was stated that everything was within walking distance. Pereybere and its beach, restaurants etc certainly are reached easily enough in about 15 min walk. Unfortunately to walk the road from the villa to the main road in the evening was awful. I would recommend using a torch. It was pitch black by 6.30pm and you couldn't see a thing apart from the odd light coming from other villas. We also had taxi drivers who wouldn't take us all the way to the villa because the road was so bad but they took us close enough.
Garcon and his wife were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Garcon was very obliging in booking our trips for us and taking us to the supermarket. I do agree with another reviewer though about the issue of Garcon parking his motorbike in the patio area. We did find that slightly intrusive along with the fact there were times where we had been out all day to come back to the villa to relax to find Garcon using the washing machine facilities or ironing. I appreciate that was maybe the only times he could fit this in alongside his other job.
We really enjoyed Grand Baie and we recommend the bars/restaurants there. To walk between there and Pereybere, it took us about 20 mins to walk or less than 10 mins by taxi.
We done the Blue Safari submarine trip, not cheap, but worth it. Another trip we done was to Gabriel Island on a catamaran. Had a BBQ on the beach which was great. The beach and water were stunning. We were lucky enough on our return trip to see dolphins and whales which was amazing. The local beaches are nice but you do get disturbed quite a bit to buy jewellery, go on trips, go to restaurants, etc.
There are plenty of spa facilities to choose from and we both had massages at the Chi spa, only 5 mins from the villa, which was very relaxing.
All in all, we did enjoy our holiday and I would recommend Mauritius to others as an all year round destination. I would certainly recommend Pendene Villa but having a car would certainly be an advantage.
