About this cabin rental

Hemlock Haven in Hico, WV (not New Haven) offers 4 cabins that are extraordinary lodging options. Each cabin has the exact same floor plan, furniture, linens and fully stocked kitchen. They boast the finest in amenities including free WiFi, DirecTV, an outdoor hot tub, fire ring, propane fire place, fenced yard and anything a cook could ever need in the kitchen or at the grill.

Access is very convenient since we are located less than 5 minutes from US Route 19 in Southern WV. We are also minutes away from numerous outdoor recreational adventures to be found at the New River Gorge or Summersville Lake such as world class whitewater rafting, zip lining, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, rock climbing, golfing and much more.

The living area has 20 foot high ceilings and a stone gas fireplace. All appointments are tasteful and inviting. There are maple hardwood floors throughout . The beds are extremely comfortable. The laundry area has a full size washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets provided.

Fully Equipped Kitchen: We equipped the kitchen for the discriminating cook. There is a large crockpot, a blender, a mixer, a griddle, baking pans, cookie sheets, measuring cups and spoons, coffemaker, toaster, wine opener, whisk, grilling tools, serving ware. glassware and dinnerware. We also provide coffee, tea, sweeteners, sugar, salt, pepper, paper towels, tin foil, plastic wrap, storage containers, zipper bags, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, hand soap,and more. There are red wine glasses, white wine glasses and champagne glasses. There are dish towels and oven mitts too.

Outdoors: There is a private outdoor 6-person hot tub. On the deck is a gas grill with a grill brush, a glass patio table with cushioned chairs. We are very dog friendly with a split rail fenced yard right outside the kitchen door. There is green coated fencing attached to the rail fence so no pet can get out. In that yard is a fire ring with benches. We provide firewood for a fee. We also have a beautiful hiking trail through the forest almost 1 mile in length.

Other amenities provided: We give you plenty of towels and extra blankets, pillows and sheets.

This cabin is exactly as described. We enjoyed the fire pit and being so close to New River and other hiking. Owner very easy to reach and easy for any questions you have about the home.

Situated in a beautiful wooded setting with easy access to Rte 19. There are three other cabins located so far apart that I could neither see nor hear any activity. The private road is gravel but smooth and no hills so my sedan handled it fine. Internet available at 3 mbs. We originally planned to bring dogs and the fenced-in yard was a good size to contain them. The pictures show a log type fence, but there is also dog friendly wire mesh fencing along those logs that is hard to see. I am confident dogs would be well contained and safe. We stayed in the wheelchair-accessible cabin which was equipped with a shower seat and low sink counter. Thoughtful features we do not always see at such properties. Everything in and outside of the cabin was exceedingly clean, including the hot tub. The owner provided plenty of towels, much appreciated. Both Pauline and Cindi were very responsive to my questions. They were easy to talk with.

We had a great trip- 4 nights. The cabin was very clean and a great size for 5 adults. It is very secluded in the woods, which was relaxing. Location was good- only about 15 minutes away from many of the New River Gorge activities. Property manager checked in a few times and was very accessible. Highly recommend.

Perfect for 6 people. Location is a quiet secluded area but it’s within easy distance of New River Gorge Park and hiking trails, Hawk’s Nest State Park, Babcock State Park, Fayetteville, and grocery stores.

Only 15-20 minute drive to New River Gorge Bridge and Babcock State Park- both a must see. 10 minute drive to Piggly Wiggly. 30 minutes to Summersville where we visited Kirkwood Winery (really good sweet wine)! Cabin was clean and had a lot of kitchen necessities to cook/grill any meal. WiFi and satellite services were good considering the remoteness of the property. Would def stay again !

Very peaceful setting with outstanding outdoor space. GPS and cell service is spotty, so make sure you know where the cabin is before you begin your trip, including owner phone numbers. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It had very thing we needed , including lots of extra towels for when we used the hot tub! The hot tub was a great addition to our getaway!

This was our families first visit to New River Gorge. The cabin was perfectly located to all the outdoor activities we wanted to do. The fully equipped kitchen made it very affordable and convenient to enjoy our meals in the cabin. Our family of five had a great time.

Great location to see New River Gorge NP! Secluded, quiet -off the beaten path. Owner gave info on grocery store location. Excellent place for 2 retired couples. Enjoyed gas grill every night on porch. Would stay again!

My fiancée and I stayed here with our friends for a weekend getaway. The cabin was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The hot tub and grill made the backyard very enjoyable, and our dogs loved the fenced in yard. Great cabin in a great location. We look forward to returning in the future!
