About this chalet rental
Chalet in Saint Gervais Les Bains, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Beautiful Newly Built Chalet, Short Walk to The Centre Of St.Gervais And Close Access To The Pistes
Chalet Marie Blanche is a superb recently built 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms chalet located at no more than 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of St Gervais, just a few minutes drive from Le Bettex and Les Contamines ski lifts and in close proximity of the free ski shuttle stop. Situated in an elevated and very sunny area, Chalet Marie Blanche with its extraordinary panoramic view from end of the Mont Blanc massif until the Fiz mountain range, passing through the Mont Joly and the Aravis offers the optimal winter and summer holiday family location. A very spacious living area with a wood burner, state of the art audio and video system, internet wi-fi, external hot tub and a large fully equipped independent kitchen ensure that the time at the chalet is as comfortable and enjoyable as the one spent out and about. The ample upstairs mezzanine floor gives adult guests an extra spot to relax and children the ideal snug with TV and Play Station.
The chalet is situated on a quiet road with the ski bus stops in close proximity, but it is always recommended hiring a car, to take full advantage of the skiing opportunities. A large skating rink is also within walking distance, as well as tennis courts and a swimming pool. St Gervais offers a variety of restaurants from Michelin Star to typical Savoyard food.
Chalet Marie Blanche is normally rented out on a weekly basis during high season (December to April and June to August). For a shorter stay a rate needs to be agreed with the owners. Hot tub is available upon request and an extra charge will be incurred.
Saint Gervais Mont Blanc is a charming alpine town, and as a spa resort, has attracted tourists since 1806. It became a ski resort as well with the opening of the first cable car to the Bettex as early as 1936! It has remained very French even into the Twenty First Century, with an impressive landscape wherever you look. The main 'Voie Royale' climbers route and the summit of the Mont Blanc (4810 metres) are all in the commune of St Gervais.
Set in a narrow river gorge halfway between Megève (15 mins drive) and Chamonix (20 mins drive), this small Savoyard market town offers an excellent selection of interesting food shops, cosy bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Every Thursday morning in Saint-Gervais there is a superb genuine market. In the month of October the annual Foire Agricole, or Agricultural Fair, takes place in Saint Gervais. It’s an amazing event that sees the whole town come together as well as those tourists who are ‘in the know’. St Gervais and the mountains surrounding her are the home to many farms which have been in the same families for generations. The Foire Agricole celebrates that fact and does so in style but also manages to embrace everything that is great about the Pays du Mont Blanc, the local artisans, the food, the wine, the country.
Among Saint Gervais’ attractions are thermal baths with spa treatments, a cinema, casino, and many outdoor activities available such as an Olympic skating rink or unforgettable walks and rambles with over 180km of marked paths and trails, including a Baroque footpath. Finally, an excursion up the mountain on the Mont-Blanc Tramway is not to be missed.
The Mont Blanc Tramway is one of the last rack & pinion trains in France although the locomotives are no longer steam powered. In summer, the Tramway takes you to the foot of the Bionnassay Glacier, the Nid d'Aigle, at an altitude of 2372 metres. From here experienced mountaineers can climb to the Tête Rousse and Goûter mountain huts, and the Mont Blanc.
Summer activities: mountaineering, climbing, hiking and family theme, bungee jumping, skating rink, swimming pool, lifts, hiking all-terrain scooter, ATV, culture and heritage, paragliding, water sports, golf, mini-golf and tennis ...

The chalet has a lot of charm and is lovingly decorated. In case of questions Francesco, the owner, has answered promptly and very helpful. And also the people in the village and in the ski resorts are exceptionally friendly. St. Gervais is definitely worth a trip.

We were all beginners at skiing and so wanted to learn but also enjoy relaxing together as a family. We had a fantastic time. The Ecole Ski Francais (ESF) provided an instructor, all the equipment we could hire at the Bettex gondola station, and we were able to enjoy six days of learning how to ski.
Chalet Marie Blanche is about fifteen minutes walk away from the bottom of the gondola, an easy walk down there in the morning, but one that produced groans trying to climb up the hill after a day's skiing. The Chalet itself is in a beautiful location, with great views of the mountains from the balcony. We self-catered every day and the kitchen was more than adequate. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. And the hot-tub was really important for soaking those strained muscles!

We loved the chalet - it is better than the photos! Very comfortable double beds, with small but nicely done shower rooms. Slightly surprised by the expense of accommodating our small dog and extra cost of the hot tub. The elevated position gives it great views but it would be a trek up with skis and boots so we took our car to the lift and as it was half term week we had to arrive by 9am to get a parking space. Lots of good ski areas to explore each day and the local town is very attractive. We would happily return to the chalet.

Just back from a wonderful week in Chalet Marie Blanche, St Gervais where I can't thank Francesco and Pav enough. They were a great help with knowledge of the area, ski instructors and transportation. The Chalet catered for everyones requirements and great location to the ski lifts and local town. The chalet is bright and spacious with lovely views, wonderfully clean and amazing mountain views! Well recommended, we will return as soon as we can!

Chalet Marie Blanche occupies a great position above St Gervais. The views are amazing, even at night when everywhere twinkles. The walk into town is very pleasant and there you will find a good atmosphere and plenty of choice for dining. The chalet is spacious and comfortable. If you like cooking you may find the kitchenware a little sparse, but it wont spoil the pleasure of being in such delightful accommodation. Both host and chalet manager were helpful and attentive and made everything easy. We have already enquired about a return visit.

Group of 12 stayed for 1 week skiing. Stayed here previously so knew what I was getting. Quality chalet, fantastic views, and nothing is too much trouble. Furniture and fitting all of a high standard and modern. We hade 3 children 12,12 & 13 they lived the mezzanine and play station. St gervaise is a great base for skiing and chalet is fantastic highly recommended.

It was our 4th. time in St Gervais but our first in Chalet Marie Blanche. We were with 2 couples and had a great week. Lot's of snow so good conditions for Ski and enjoying the great Hot tub during the evening. The location of the Chalet is just perfect enjoying the afternoon sun. Cosy at the fire place in the evening. For us certainly a chalet to revisit next year.
Perfect for Max. 2-3 couples. When the groupe would be bigger it will get bit more crowded in the Bathrooms and need some planning :)
The service is great with friend Andrew close to you to help you with whatever you needed. We will sure be back next coming years.

A great base from which to explore the Mont Blanc region. The chalet is very well located, a short walk from local shops - although rather uphill on the return journey! The elevated location has the obvious advantage of fantastic 180 degree views from large balconies on two levels.
We stayed as a family of four and so there was clearly lots of room and I am sure it would be very comfortable for 2 families to stay together. The bed linen was of a high standard and cleanliness was excellent. The furnishings were of a very good standard and we appreciated the high quality audio-visual system. A separate area with a second television and games console was present which I am sure would have been well used if our children were a little older!
There are plenty of activities to keep all ages entertained. The tram to various elevations of Mont Blanc, the Spa, animal park, lake Passy and several very well maintained parks and playgrounds were all short drives away. We also drove about an hour to Annecy which was well worth a visit.
Thoroughly recommended. We plan to return!

Words cannot do this chalet justice. It is absolutely beautiful and the pictures reflect the property perfectly. Myself and 6 friends stayed at the Chalet for two nights. The chalet is easy to get to and was well equipped with fresh linens, towels and even a breakfast starter kit! As well, you are a short drive into town and about a 20 minute drive from Chamonix...I highly recommend visiting both towns! Also, the hot tub over looks the mountains...you might never want to leave! Francesco was a great and accommodating host. Although he wasn't present at the chalet for the weekend, he contacted me via phone to prepare for the weekend and quickly replied to any concerns via e-mail both prior to and during the weekend. As well, he had someone check in with us on the Saturday to ensure that all of our questions were answered. Thanks for the great location and help over the weekend!

We stayed in Chalet Marie Blanche over Feb half term, two families, 9 of us in total. The chalet swallowed us all up easily and we never felt cramped even when another 5 friends came over for dinner one evening.
The lounge, dining and kitchen areas are really nicely laid out and very comfy. The mezzanine with the den for the children was perfect and we lost all 5 children for hours on end!
The bedrooms were all very comfortable and there wasn't a short straw when it came to choosing who went where.
Andrew the chalet manager was really helpful and was a text message away, not that we needed him for much.
My only slight criticism is that it could probably do with another shower (rather than a shower and a bath), but I understand that this is in the pipeline.
The bus stop down to the gondola is an easy 5 minute walk down the hill, not quite so easy on the way home carrying skis, but do-able. Once we were confident that the roads would be clear we drove to the gondola and used the free car park which worked perfectly.
St Gervais looks like a lovely town although we happily spent every evening in the chalet which is testament to how nice it is.
The ski area is lovely - be prepared for a big queue at the gondola in the morning though! We were a group of very mixed abilities but ultimately there was something for everyone - although the nursery slopes weren't quite as easy as some other resorts.
