About this house rental
Our home is conveniently located about 4 blocks to Lake Michigan and the beach. It is also about 4 blocks to the wooden kids park and downtown. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It sleeps 8 guests. Everything you may possibly need can be found in our cottage for a comfortable stay. We have a washer and drier. There are 2 porches to relax on and yard/outdoor furniture. Happy booking.

The property was comfortable except the stay was way too short! We had to wait until 4p to check-in and we had to be out by 10 a. The reason we could not check-in was because they have someone cleaning for five hours before each guest. Then when we did check-in I noticed the stairs were not vacuumed and the upstairs bathroom, toilet, tub and showers were not very clean. The shower water fixture in the upstairs bathroom was really strange every time someone used it they couldn’t figure out how to turn off the water and left it running for someone to figure out. They need to replace that!! It was rather warm upstairs with the high ceilings and the ceiling fan was blowing hot air down on you and it should be set in reverse so it brings the cool air up. They did have a decent standing fan so that helped! The beds were comfortable but the TV upstairs we had to reset the cable box for awhile because it wasn’t working which took a bit of troubleshooting. Overall comfortable but I don’t think I’ll stay again.

The house was very very clean and good size for our family. We enjoyed the location (as we have stayed in South Haven before). That being said, even though the house was a little further from everything than described (a little under 15 mins walk to downtown and the beach) it was a short drive to very beautiful overlooks and beaches. The downstairs was cool but the upstairs was very warm (and we appreciate the fans). The kitchen had lots of spices and condiments, but the kitchen ware (pots, pans, mixing bowl etc) was less than adequate for a family of 5 to cook and prepare food. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come and stay again, but we would be more prepared had we knwon these things up front.

The house was immaculate. The rooms were all good sizes. The main bedroom was large, yet charming with storage and a full bath. Thank you for the nice touch of the jar of homemade jam.

My two friends and I stayed for 3 nights. The property was great. Everything we needed was included - bath towels, beach towels, lots of toilet paper, paper towels, dishes, shampoo, ceiling fans, standing fans, etc. There were even 4 mini bottled waters in the fridge! The only thing missing was a wine/bottle opener. Loved that there was a front porch and a sunroom - we used both! Location was perfect. We walked to the downtown area every morning. South Beach was a short drive away. No complaints. The only reason I did not give the property a 5 was the lack of communication from the owner. I stay in rental properties all the time and am used to more friendly responses from the property owner. Customer Service to me is a big deal. Everything else though was great... would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in South Haven. The house was comfy and well equipped. The location is great and the neighborhood is quiet. We are getting older and notice little things like hand rails now. The back porch step could use a post or hand rail to help our senior set. We didn’t have time to enjoy the backyard, but the fire pit looked inviting. Would love to visit again.

The property and house is exactly like the pictures. It is only a short walk (4 long blocks) to the south beach. It is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. It had everything you need to stay for the week. If we ever come back to the area we will stay here again!

This house was perfect for our little beach trip! My husband and I were traveling with 3 kids, grandma, and a babysitter and there was enough room for all of us to spread out and relax. Grandma appreciated the bedroom on the first floor. Both the porch and the sunroom were wonderful additions to the space and we used the grill and fire pit for dinner and s’mores. I loved that we were walking distance to the kid’s corner playground and the beaches were minutes away too. We would definitely come back to this clean and comfy cottage!

Perfect for family of 4 or 5, quiet neighborhood, as advertised. Did have an issue with washer but owner did fix. Plenty of parking space, lots of charm. No texts from owner ever came through, had to use VRBO app to communicate instead of number listed on binder.

We were pleased to be able to rent this house for only one night. We previously stayed in Holland, and wanted to continue our vacation in South Haven. The home was very clean and had plenty of space for my husband and I and our 4 children. We rode our bikes to the beach , and to downtown South Haven. We took the 6 min drive to Sherman’s for ice cream.
The home is in a nice location and we enjoyed our brief stay.

The pictures were exactly as the property was in person. It was very clean and smelled so fresh right when you walked in. The previous renters didn’t leave the shed key where we could find it, and tbt wonder was very quick to respond and brought her key over for us to use. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and linens. There was plenty of towels, wash clothes, laundry detergent and shampoo/body wash if you needed to use theirs. The walk to south beach was 10-15 minutes and you could walk to downtown if you wanted but we chose to drive. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is exactly how it appears in photos. It's charming and comfortable. There's enough space for one or 2 cars depending on the vehicle to have off-street parking. The location is great. For us, it was an easy walk up into town. A nice park is located even closer for those bringing kids. We had wonderful and prompt communications with the owners. We would not hesitate to stay here again if coming back to the area.

We were delighted with the cottage. It is a lot bigger than it looked online. It had plenty of toiletries and was extremely clean. The beds were comfortable and they had an ample amount of towels. We had a very nice time!

Our family really enjoyed our stay in South Haven! The home was very clean and plenty of room for a family of 6. The neighborhood was quiet and we really enjoyed sitting on the side porch drinking coffee in the morning. There is a mixture of nice homes and not so nice homes close to the property but the homes directly next to the property and directly across are nice well kept homes. If you plan to cook a lot while you are there I would recommend bringing some of your own cooking utensils and pans. All of the kitchen utensils and pans are very cheap and not in the best shape. Also, if you enjoy walking, the walk to the beach really is an easy one! Our boys 9 and 11 walked it just fine and we pushed the younger two in a stroller. Overall though we really did enjoy our stay and the home did have everything we needed, just some things could have been a little better quality. The owners were also very responsive and kind and even left us a jar of locally made jelly with a card on our door halfway through our stay.

This 3 bedroom was so adorable. Everything that you could ever need was there (sand toys, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, living room). Well kept and maintained property. Everything and every room was very clean and with cute decor. Location and Home was as described. The host was quick to respond and very accommodating about getting us an earlier check-in time. Would definitely and highly reccomend to anyone. Would check availability to stay here again if in the area and travel back here.

We’ve stayed at many places in and around South Haven and Joanna’s is one of the best. Is a perfect balance of being close and convenient but not right in the middle of the hubbub of downtown SH.
The house is amazing! It felt so much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. We loved the huge dining room table and the comfy couches and the kids LOVED climbing up and down the bunk beds.
Speaking of the kids, they loved all the toys Joanna provides, both inside and beach toys. There were even some cute little books that they loved reading every night before bed.
The house was super clean and pretty well stocked too. Hopefully we’ll get back there soon.

We loved the Kalamazoo Street Cottage! It was just what we were looking for. It was a lovely walk to the beach for sunsets and town for breakfast and dinner. As we were only 2 people, we didn't feel the need to even venture upstairs, but we were tempted to utilize the spacious master bedroom.
We had all we needed to cook a few meals in house, including the handy grill out back. We would definitely return!

We planned a short notice stay for my family in South Haven. And everything worked out great. The house is very nice and the owners were very accommodating and easy to work to get things set up on short notice.

This property was great for our family of four, children ages 5 and 11. We had grandparents stay with us for 2 nights during the week and it was the right amount of space for us all. The queen bed mattress in the first floor is very comfortable! The kids loved the bunk bed room. The master bedroom mattress was not as nice, but the dramatic ceiling and master bathroom made up for it! Overall, the home was as pictured, the price was extremely fair and it was very clean. There are some things I would prepare others for: it is a 15-20 minute walk to the beach, but if you drive you can find parking easily by Kids Corner. It's also a 15-20 minute walk to the town center, but we were Covid-careful, so we didn't go to town much. The kitchen has what you need; but I wished for better wine glasses and a few more forks, spoons and knives. The coffee maker does not automatically turn off; so be careful not to leave it on all day. There is a dishwasher! There is not a closed-in backyard, but there is a portable fire pit and outdoor table with chairs- it was what we needed to make s'mores, but it's not an outdoor area to hang out for a whole evening with more than 4 people.
For the price, cleanliness and comfort; I would recommend it to a small group of friends or family.

We’ve stayed at several properties in South Haven and have enjoyed being near kids corner, south beach and close to downtown. This property provides that and was comfortable and clean. Only issue is it gets hot upstairs so we kept the hvac fan running to help keep a more uniform temperature throughout the house.

Property was suitable to our group of six. We fit three kids in the bedroom with bunk beds easily. Easy in/out, downtown shops and beach walkable (though 10+ mins). Had a great time.
