The property had nice decor and remodeling. However, it could have been cleaner. I found the floors and stairs to need a bit more attention, but the towels and bedding were clean and smelled fresh. It had plenty of room, bedrooms and bathrooms for my whole family. This was great!
The major downfall of the property is the location. It is not in the best neighborhood, even though it is close to the plaza and fairly close to downtown KC. This is probably reflected by the price, which I was happy with. So, overall, is was a pretty good stay. A couple of annoying things: the upstairs has motion activated lights in the hallway. They are very bright and shined into the bedrooms due to the windows above the doors. The street is not very quiet either. We heard maybe outdoor noises.

A charming historical home with plenty of room! We enjoyed our stay very much. Close to the Nelson Atkins Art Museum which was a plus for us, great coffee shop across the street. Our group of 16 had a relaxing, comfortable stay. Our host was great to work with, very accommodating!

The house was lovely. It was very spacious nice and clean, comfortable beds. New utensils in kitchen was a great to have available, and plenty of parking space. Loved that there was a washer and dryer so we were able to wash our towels each night to keep the laundry from piling up great supply of everything.

Before I say what I want to say, the house is great - perfect for a large group, clean, tidy, etc. For these reasons, the home was great for our weekend, subject to my comments below.
The listing says this is "close to art museum" and "plaza." While this is somewhat true (within a half mile of both), there is some deception going on here. The house actually sits on Troost Avenue (known as one of the more dangerous roads/areas in KC) - something I believe every renter should be aware of - and frankly, I think withholding that fact from people traveling into KC with their family, likely not having an idea of the neighborhoods/roads, and all while paying good money should not be allowed under any circumstance by VRBO. With all of that being said, we had a car broken into and stolen on our first night. A police report was filed the next morning and the car was located down Troost Ave. two mornings later - totaled. Now clearly that isn't the homeowner's fault - however, it's their fault for leading us to believe we were booking a home - non-refundable may I point out - "close to art museum/plaza" and/or in "south hyde park."
Therefore, beware of location. It's a great, spacious home INSIDE, which is all on par with how it is advertised. The outside, however, including primarily the location of the home, is not as advertised. I was stunned to find no similar reviews warning others of this very issue.

Overall we had a good time. House had a lot of space but only had places for 14 to sleep and neighborhood was not the safest. A lot of people wondering around out side at night. One thing to note is the sharing of a backyard with the house next door.

We stayed here for the weekend of my daughter’s wedding. Proximity to the venue was great. As many reviews have stated the location isn’t the greatest. But we never felt nervous in the house. There was a loud car that went by around 2:00 am both nights. A noise machine might be helpful. Beds were very comfortable, good towels and linens. We didn’t cook so I can’t say anything about cooking supplies. But they had ample coffee mugs. We loved having 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. And the rooms were all good sized. The fan and the light are wired together in the front room. So you can’t use the fan without the light. Owner said an electrician would be fixing that. Owner was very quick to respond to our questions. We weren’t in the house much but it was a comfortable place to sleep at night.

Property was wonderful! We had 10 Senior age cousins staying together for a Celebration of Life for another cousin. We had a wonderful time in the house. We loved all the chairs and how easy it was for all of us to sit together and visit. Beds were comfy and loved having private baths for each bedroom!

This property was absolutely perfect for a girls weekend - there was 9 of us. The house is super clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you might need. The beds are incredibly comfortable and all of us wanted to know where the owner gets the sheets! The downstairs is very well thought out - we had plenty of room to eat, play poker, lounge, build puzzles etc. We appreciated the extra touches - self locking doors for security and motion censored lights in the stairways. Parking is limited but it wasn’t an issue for us. The only downside is that the house is on Troost. However, we felt safe the entire time, especially with the self locking doors.

The house was very clean, had all of the supplies we needed and then some, and the owner was so easy to contact! Unfortunately we heard from many locals that the location isn’t super safe and no to walk anywhere. It was no problem at all though with using Ubers they were fairly cheap!
