About this house rental
Super walkable location at the base of Cap Sante just 1/2 Block from Commercial Boat Launch. Filtered views of working waterfront. Easy 4 block walk or bike to downtown Anacortes with lots of shops and restaurants. Walk or bike a few blocks to Cap Sante Marina where Anthonys and the Cabana are located or you can book a whale watching tour. Similar distance up to the viewpoint of Cap Sante overlooking the entire Cap Sante Boat basin, downtown Anacortes and beyond. Saturdays at the Farmers Market are also an easy walk/ bike. Watch the boats being built at Dakota Creek or bring a picnic to one of the many little pocket beaches in the neighborhood. Hop on a bike and ride the Tommy Thompson Trail and out across Padilla Bay on the old railroad trestle. The location is in the middle of everything of all the fun of downtown Anacortes but yet tucked away on a peaceful quiet street.
However, if you are looking for perfection this is probably not the right fit for your stay. Our goal is perfect imperfectness that is affordable. The stairs are circa 1905, the neighbors yard is not super tidy, you might hear industrious noises from the shipyard and the occasional clank of the barge ramp while it is loading up to bring supplies over to the islands and you will most definitely hear seagulls squawking. You will also catch glimpses of boats of all sizes and tankers with escort tugs going thru the Guemes channel and on foggy morning hear the fog horns. Walk the 1/2 block to the public access and get an unobstructed view of boats in the Guemes Channel Shipping Lane.
Vintage 1905 House located in the first platted block of Anacortes. All the charm of yesteryear (stairs still creak) but updated on the inside with an eclectic comfortable style. The outside of the home is still a work in progress. This is an older transitional neighborhood tucked between working waterfront and the waterfront view mansions on Cap Sante.
Upstairs bedrooms with Queen in Bedroom 1. 2 Queens in Bedroom 2 . 1/2 bath upstairs between bedrooms.
Downstairs is a fully stocked kitchen complete with zinc countertops and a neon ice cream sign. Bathroom with Shower, full size washer dryer, living room large screen Smart TV with internet service and a Dining area.
Fenced backyard with covered patio deck and shed complete with bicycles for your enjoyment.
No Pets, No Smoking, Not Wheelchair Accessible.

A fabulous stay at this adorable little house! Dolcee/Erik, the owner, greeted us with a warm smile and provided all the information we needed about Anacortes. The house is equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully stocked, outdoor patio is delightful with bbq & gas fireplace. The interior decor is fun, the beds, pillows & furniture are great. A great walk to downtown for food and a good restaurant across the street! The extra touches & communication with the owner is like no other. She goes above & beyond. I would stay here again & highly recommend!

You know you’ve found something special as soon as you walk through the front door. What a fantastic, unique property. The photos don’t do it justice - every detail has been attended to to reflect an authentic Anacortes vibe. Very walkable, great backyard and gracious hosts. We will definitely stay here again.

This little gem was so thoughtfully & quaintly decorated. It has a great little backyard for kids. The house is compact yet the spaces are spacious & well appointed. Great walkable location, very well stocked, clean & fresh linens, fabulous host who was responsive and kind. We will be back!! Highly recommend.

The owners probably undersell this place in the listing. They're right it doesnt look like much from the outside, but it's wonderful on the inside. Clever decorating and more make it feel really homey. The backyard with the cover, the BBQ, and propane firepit are really nice. We'll absolutely stay here again!
We came in by boat, and the owner even came to pick me up!
It's a 15 minute walk to the main Cap Sante marina office and 5 minutes to the restaurants on commercial avenue.

House is even nicer in real life! Erik was super communicative and helpful. Really good nights of sleep here. Appreciate the black out paper curtains :) Would 100% return.

The house and neighborhood were exactly as described. I was very impressed with the kitchen and all appliances available. The farmer's market Saturday mornings is only a short walk from the house, and had excellent local produce and fresh baked goods.
I also really enjoyed the fire table in the back yard - a perfect way to take off the evening chill and enjoy the local nature - lots of deer coming through for some grazing, along with a nice variety of sea and songbirds.

From great communication with Erik, our host, and the rental itself I cant say enough positive things. The house has been lovingly restored with great attention to detail. We loved the unique and homey touches, but our host also impressed us. We were late checking in due to unexpected circumstances and he was very understanding. He sent us tips about local events during our stay and was very responsive. Grab some vacation and visit this place! The locals treat each other and visitors so well. We felt welcome everywhere we went.

1902 house in mixed-use neighborhood; eclectic decor. Kitchen well equipped. Plenty of towels in ground level bath. Wonderful backyard with covered deck and fire pit, which we didn't use. Bikes, incl tandem, in storage shed.
Good communication and clean property made our stay comfortable..

This place was just right for our small group reunion weekend. The space itself was very clean and incredibly well appointed. I have never stayed in a rental that had such a well equipped kitchen! Stocked with appliances and dishes and everything needed, plus more. The home was even nicer in real than the photos made it look. The backyard covered patio and fire pit were a great place to hang out in the evenings. We enjoyed the short walk to the downtown historic area for live local music in the park, dining, and general sightseeing. Also nearby were great day hikes, beaches and beautiful views and scenery our whole group enjoyed.
Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’ve already recommended it to several people and hope to be back!

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Erik's house. The location was great. It's tucked away but really close to the downtown shops, restaurants, and marinas. The bikes were awesome to have, we rode around town and the Tommy Thompson Trail (although some leaky bike tires). Erik was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. There literally was anything and everything you could ever need for your stay already at the house (including a few delicious IPAs from the previous guests). Board games, books, music, extra fan's, pillows, towels - it was the most stocked VRBO we've ever stayed at. While we didn't cook dinners at the house, there was no shortage of anything. We had friends over after eating at Secret Cove and enjoyed relaxing around the awesome gas fire pit and deck area. I'd absolutely recommend this place and I'd stay here again.

The house is old at first glance. Inside it is very updated and charming! The beds are super comfy with new feeling, CLEAN sheets. Towels are great too.
We wanted for nothing. The kitchen had all the things we have at home. The washer & dryer worked perfectly.
We only had to buy food. All soap, shampoo, etc. was provided.
We walked across to the restaurant called "The Secret Cove". It was fantastic seafood and other dishes.
Oh and the back yard had a covered deck with firepit and comfortable chairs. We didn't use the BBQ but it looked new.
Will definitely stay again!

Loved this spot. Perfect for a few people to stay. They had plenty of board games,DVDs, books. They had bikes, a cool patio area. Their kitchen had a lot of spices available for if you decide to cook. Really eclectic decor and cool things. We loved it here. Would definitely come again. They are in walking distance of a cute restaurant that overlooks the water.

Our week in Anacortes was fantastic thanks to this perfectly remodeled rental on a quiet street. Walking distance from beach and sunset views as well as downtown makes this the ideal spot for out of towners to soak up the relaxed pace of this delightful town.
Communication with our host was fantastic, and while we needed nothing, I have no doubt Erik would have come to our aid without hesitation. The house is well stocked with kitchen/bathroom essentials and several extras. The fully stocked game shelves and outdoor firepit would have gotten more action had our kids been with us, but we certainly enjoyed eating outside under the covered deck during a couple of gentle rainshowers.
Can't thank Erik enough for the clear instructions, ease of check-in, and all the tips on local activities. We'll be back!

We were transformed into vacation mode once we stepped inside; everyone of us instantly felt relaxed. With the charming decor, an incredible variety of furniture and amenities, each of us found a nook to call our own; hard to do in most places with 4 teenagers. The location was a comfortable walk to town and included several stops during our stay at local ice cream shop. The covered patio with fire pit and comfy chairs allowed us to relax outside, too.
Many thanks to hosts

Such a interesting home character in every corner. And so we’ll stocked plenty of beautiful towels and dishes and everything we needed we did puzzles on the dinette table and games in the dining room. Watched tv all together and slept on comfy beds. Thank you so much your rentals are the best.

While the qualifications eric lists such as close to a shipyard are appreciates it is a super cute and comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen and a back yard with a covered patio area and a gas fire pit that is an easy walk to downtown. And great default music on the old ipod!

This was a great house! The yard was wonderful for relaxing with a toddler, the property manager was friendly, responsive and helpful, it's close to shopping and restaurants. The house itself was very cute, eclectically decorated, with everything we could need.

My husband and I spent our 4th wedding anniversary here and we are still raving about it back home! The house has so much character and felt like there was so much thoufhtfulness put into every decoration. Bed was comfortable and we slept easily. Maybe the most quiet VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. Husband and I survived the entire 4 days/3 nights days here without renting a car. Took a shuttle from Seattle and the owners were beyond generous in offering us pick up/drop off, used owners’ bicycles to take the ferries, but most of downtown Anacortes you can access on foot from this house. If you’re venturing further west/south, a car would’ve been necessary. Just really can’t explain how lovely this place was in words, nor how generous the owners are. We generally like to do a vacation once and move on to other locations, but husband and I would 110% return to this exact location in the future.

Quite comfortable, cute with unusual accents. We used the bikes a couple times out to Fildalgo Bay and across town. Walked around town window shopping and checking out menus. We caught Pink Salmon running on the Skagit so had a blast catching and releasing them. Found a couple places to get fresh seafood in town and out of town. Had a great time, thanks!

Our family of four came to visit Anacortes for several days. The house was super clean and it was wonderfully stocked. We had anything possible available we could think about. The location of the house is super in the way we were walking almost everywhere. The bikes Erik and Dulcie provided were a huge plus. We had deers walking nearby every day. We were waking up and listened seagulls. The beds are very comfortable . The house is like a trip to a museum with lots of history preserved in a big and small details that was combined with contemporary life. Amazing place, very responsive owners. We started to think about our next stay in that place the minute we started to pack things to go home. Thank you for everything! We will be back!

We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was equipped with all kinds of utensils, dishes, and appliances needed to cook a great meal. We were in walking distance to the grocery stores, restaurants, and shops in downtown Anacortes. The farmers market on Saturday morning was right around the corner. The backyard space was a great place to relax and warm up in the sun or by the fire pit. It was really nice having bikes as another fun way to get around. The house is decorated so nice and super clean too. There are so many beautiful parks, lakes, beaches, mountains, and ferries close by to go on fun excursions. My husband was able to work a few days with great WiFi too. This was our first stay at a VRBO. I don’t ever want to stay at a hotel again. Erik was a great host and answered my texts very quickly. Hopefully we will get another chance to travel to Washington and stay in this cute VRBO again.

This place met all of our expectations. It was cozy and in a great location to downtown restaurants, Cap Sante, and the harbor.
The only thing missing is a view from this locale. But it doesn’t take but a minute to reach Cap Sante and get an amazing view of the bay and mountain ranges.
The house had very thoughtful amenities and is perfect for our family of 4.
Thanks so much for a memorable vacation!
