About this cottage rental

This home is located in downtown Montrose, just 30 minutes from the San Juan mountains, and Ridgway reservoir. It is minutes away from bike paths, coffee shops, downtown shopping and restaurants, the Uncompaghre River Sports Park, Black Canyon National Park, and amazing recreation parks! This cute little cottage is clean and peaceful. It is quaint and comfortable with AC, WIFI fully stocked kitchen, and a 58" TV. The bathroom has a brand new renovation. The whole cottage has been newly renovated with fresh paint, new landscaping, and brand new furniture, dishes and appliances! There is a cute little porch with seating and a raised garden with vegetables and herbs. This cute little cottage is peaceful and private.
Montrose is a great location for all your adventures, it is just 3 hours away from Moab, 30 minutes away from Ridgway Reservoir, 20 minutes away from Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and an hour from Grand Mesa, the worlds largest flat top mountain with 300 lakes.
The town is sweet and quaint but well equipped. We have a beautiful recreation center for all ages, cute downtown shops, I recommend Fabula for amazing shopping for all ages. Our downtown is full of restaurants on Main Street, stop into the Daily Bread, Montrose's oldest restaurant right on the corner of Cascade and Main and coffee shops, San Juan Brews on Main Street is divine! Our town has wonderful walking and biking paths, the bike path goes all the way from the North 9th Street to South 12th and is wonderfully landscaped, amazing for kiddos and adults alike. We have awesome parks, try Riverbottom for a plethora of activities including walking, biking, hiking, basketball, football, soccer, volley ball, river rafting, tubing, baseball, handball, grilling, and skateboarding on the huge skatepark! Your choice to come here is a great one, and when you stay at the Uncompaghre Cottage you are right in the middle of it all! You will find a list of our recommendations when you book along with some very luxurious amenities including soaking salts, sugar body scrubs, mint and rosemary shampoo and conditioner, lavender body wash, full and plush pillows and more!

We provide a Bible and a daily devotional called Jesus Calling to our guests. This is not meant to be offensive to our guests. It is meant to provide comfort and peace to those who may be hurting and searching for answers. We sincerely hope you will enjoy your stay with us.

We are a normal family, you may hear dogs barking on occasion, our back yard is visible when you walk up and although we try to keep it nice you will undoubtedly witness our betterly life, that is , a life in motion. The cottage is a gem and perfectly clean, furnished and well appointed. The yard is neat, everything you will be immersed in is clean and new! **Please pull the gate hard, it's not locked , is just swollen and gets stuck.

Very clean and comfortable. Made for a great place to hang our hat while seeing family. The only thing that needs to be changed is the air-freshener or cleaning product was really too strong.

As described a small space. Worked out just fine. Just a note. Second rental in a row where the kitchen sponge on the sink was well used, nothing I’d consider using. Needed to go into the trash can.

Montrose is a fun town so much to see and do in the area. This little cottage is the perfect place for a couple to stay. Cottage is old and a little quirky which adds to its charm. Clean with everything you need to feel comfortable. It’s in a great location so close to everything you need, the city park, fishing, hiking, great places to eat, plus the shopping at the Main Street shops. Cottage is clean, quiet and very relaxing can sit out on front lani to enjoy your morning coffee. The hosts were so easy to deal with and easiest check in and out.

Great location, price, and neighborhood. I think 2 adults is really the max for this property. Cottage was comfortable and outside seating was private. Would rent again.

Perfect getaway for a couple and great alternative/better value than any campground nearby. You won't be cooking a gourmet meal, but the kitchen is equiped enough for basic food prep. Perfect for a couple.

Our stay was worthy and went smoothly as needed. Communication was fast and we felt the host was ready for our requests, yet offering us the privacy we desired. Town seems to shut down around 9pm so get your dinner in earlier as needed. Property description is accurate and has the charm as shown in the pictures. Love the toiletries.

Overall we were very comfortable and pleased with this cottage. It is small but it had everything we needed and we were impressed by how much though was put into all the stuff in the house (nice, plentiful sheets and towels, good soap in the shower, coffee and tea, etc.) The gate was very hard to open and needs work and there was some dog barking but I would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night while passing thru the area. The property worked well for our needs. It was not as new and neat looking as the posted pictures on the outside. The inside of the cottage was nice and comfortable. The window unit was not keeping the house very cool during the afternoon but did catch up once the sun went down.

We had a fantastic stay! Home exceeded our expectations. It was a cute cottage that was very tastefully decorated and had all of the essentials one would need for a multiple night stay. We walked to a great farmers market on Saturday and were able to walk to restaurants as well. The owners lived next door and were friendly but not intrusive. It was in a very safe neighborhood and ideally located for day outings! Thank you!

Cute place but VERY small, not private as it’s open to the main house. This place still needs A LOT of work and thought about the comfort level of guests. For instance, none of the windows open. Even though the weather was perfect for propping open windows, we had to use the AC window unit that is loud and not very effective. The bed is hard and the bathroom is very small. Maybe some electrical issues. They need to be up front in the description about the ‘quirks’ in the guest book. Nice location though, easy to walk to downtown. Gate code wasn’t needed since gate didn’t lock but very safe neighborhood.

There is a low chain link fence separating the rental from the owner's property. Before I even entered the exterior gate I was greeted by a very anxious barking dog. I tried calling the owner to discuss my experience immediately but VRBO said the mailbox was not set up. I messaged through VRBO and was 'assured' the dog is normally not outside and would not be a problem again. Except that is exactly how my next day started. The "quirks" of the home that you only come to know about once you are inside; should have been disclosed in the listing. A kitchen light that flickers when the water in the sink is turned on is not a "quirk" it is an electrical fire waiting to happen. The furnace is so loud it was no match for the Bose sleep buds I had in my ears the one night I had to stay there. I left after my first night, paid for a hotel for the following 2 nights and returned, as I communicated with the owner, on Sunday; only to be greeted by multiple dogs in the yard barking their faces off. There was nothing relaxing or restful about the property. I left, got a hotel room for the night and returned home two days early. When the owner processed a refund without my asking for $350; it tells me they knew exactly what they were doing. I'd like a full refund since the first and only night I spent there was not exactly restful or enjoyable. I told the owner that if they had been honest in disclosing very material items about their property I would have never given them my business.
