Ruhige Lage mitten im Wald, sehr entspannt und gemütlich.

Ubytování i lokalita odpovídala popisu.

We've been there in May 2023. The cottage is really pretty and clean, located in the village near a forrest. Pets are allowed which is great! (we had 2 dogs and paid 20 euro for each for the entire stay). The cottage has a big living room with kitchen, a small closed patio, a toilet and a storage on the ground floor and a bathroom (with bathtub) and 2 bedrooms in the attic. We stayed there with 4 people in total which was confy, but if there's more of you it might get less private and you will have to agree on who uses the bathroom first. You can use a barbecue if you buy your own coal. The place is a great starting point for trips around Bohemian Switzerland national park. As long as you have a car and you will need one as the cottage is 5 minutes ride to the centre of Krasna Lipa and more to any other destination. There is no TV in the house and no mobile network, but there's a very good wifi if you don't want to disconnect fully :).
We would have rated the place higher if not for 2 main issues. First one was the marten or martens (kunas) which nested in the attic (in the roof and walls). As it is a night animal it made a lot of noise during the night moving through the thermal insulation. The noise not only woke us up, but triggered the dogs to bark which made the marten run more and make even more noise. Eventually it ran away, but wasn't scared enough because it got back every night. You can imagine how difficult it is too sleep with that kind of noise right over your head. The owners told us they tried different ways to get rid of them, but we really think they should do better and create good enough physical barriers. It was quite easy to find some weak spots in house elevation. This can of course be expensive.
The second thing is the cost of electricity. Please be informed that the house is not heated, so in colder months you will need to use either the fireplace in the living room or one of 3 electric heaters. Yet, you have to pay additionally both for wood and for electricity. We used it very rarely and still paid around 25 euros for 3 days at the end. If you go there in winter for let's say a week the price would easily go up to few hundreds euro extra. What is more, we haven't been shown any electricity meter or current electricity pricing neither at the beginning nor at the end of stay. With 25 euros it's not a problem, but with bigger money it could lead to a serious argument.
All in all we really had a good stay and would probably rated in for 8 or 9, because of the charm the house and the surroundings have, but with the issues mentioned above we go down to 6.

Location, calm, close to facilities (by car), comfort, spacious (we were 3), own parking space, wifi worked really well (which was nice since there was no cell phone reception). Nice walking trails. The owners were very nice and happy to provide any information about the possibilities in the surroundings.
Maybe a TV would've been nice, but not essential.

Steffi was very heart-warming, communication was in Czech/ German, clear explanation. She provided us with some recommendations for hikes in the area.
Communication in English was not really possible. The wood blocks provided to make the fire were very big, it was not possible for us to get the fire burning with such big logs and we were not able to cut the logs into smaller pieces with the (rather small) axe available in the house. Luckily there was a radiator to keep us warm.

Amazing area, very nice property. Calm place but still close to everywhere. Hosts were very friendly and nice.

- A peaceful location in an old healthy forest with rock formations. You can hear birds and see lush vegetation from every window. This is the land of deer, wild pastures and steep forest walks.
- The cottage has a wonderful traditional tile stove with a resting area on top. It's just wonderful for reading or resting, for one or two adults. It helps heat up the house quickly and the heat lasts all night.
- The owner has personally renovated the house and the work he and his sons have done is seamless. The furniture and hardware are functional, simple and tasteful. Warm water runs well, tap water is pure and delicious.
- The immediate neighbourhood consists of 5 or 6 cottages. These are usually occupied by weekenders from March to April.
- The cottage is surrounded by a forest on one side (with a tour path immediately along the cottage) and a stream on the other.
It might be difficult to keep the whole house warm in winter.

Amazing house with a nice garden and nature around it! We love this place, our journey was great!
The weather was cool: sunny and warm.
We can’t wait to return to this house!
Hot Water ends fast, therefore the fourth person has a cold bath. This house needs a bigger water heater)
