About this house rental
Affordable, clean, cozy, well-maintained 3-BR / 2 bathroom house in Oregon’s Bay Area, with breath-taking views of the water and sunset from your bedrooms or from the deck. You’ll be close enough to the water to hear the sea lions barking and feel the mist on your face!!
There’s a pathway on the property that goes down to the best clamming beds on the Bay, and fishing from the shore. Crabbing is just down the street in either direction.
We are in close proximity to all of the Coastal fun and sightseeing that you can handle.
Shore Acres, Sunset Bay, Bastendorf Beach, and golf courses are within 15 minutes, and the Charleston port area is only 5 minutes away, where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, more clamming and crabbing, or maybe book a charter fishing or whale watching trip.
Relax in the sauna after a long day of work or play!
Great for family reunions or parties, events of any kind, or just a quiet weekend (or weekday!) getaway.

The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly. My family was in the area to attend an event at Shore Acres State Park, and the house was an easy drive to the park. The house is on the highway and fairly close to the road, so traffic noise was a little much when trying to sleep with windows open. The view of the water was lovely, but we didn’t walk to the beach. The accommodations were as pictured in the listing, but I would note that the stairs to the Large bedroom are very steep and not good for those with mobility or balance issues. We would stay here again

The view was beautiful. Though access to the beach was a little difficult, they had just done some excavation and it was very wet. I am sure that will change when the ground dries out. The house was comfortable, and perfect for my group. We had a great time playing games. I would certainly stay at this property again. The host was very responsive and very nice.

I properties photos are what you get, however not as clean as one thinks. Needs paint or a deep cleaning finger hand prints on the walls, lack of cooking pots and pans, no fuel for the grill. No easy access to the all overgrown beach. We had an ant infestation, tried to contact the owners several times to no avail. We purchased an ant killer and tried to curb the problem the best we could. We lost some food that was on the counter, due to ants, and the fridge door was full of used condiments, which seemed very odd to us. The sheets were clean and so were the bathrooms and kitchen area. Check in was a breeze and things to do nearby were amazing, you get what you pay for. We would go back if we had too.

Excellent views, great owner communication.

Hosts: The hosts were very responsive. They were quick to message back. The hosts were very nice.
Location: The view of course is beautiful. The road the house is on was busy with cars whizzing by at all hours. There were a lot of homeless people roaming around and on our first morning we woke to a brush fire in the back adjacent to the house and had to call the fire department. My son had seen homeless people having a fire near the brush the night before. There was toilet paper with feces on it and poop near the front stoop. The hosts came and threw it away.
General (cleanliness, amenities, etc.): The house is well stocked with towels, and cleaning and kitchen supplies, etc. There were lots of games available and the kids had fun playing Monopoly. There's a lot of space and we had 6 people. The house had been cleaned and it appears to not have been given a top to bottom thorough cleaning in some time. There were cobwebs in the corners and a piece of someone's old spaghetti stuck to the kitchen ceiling. There is a pervasive smell of must/mildew throughout the house. I had a hard time relaxing and settling in. We turned on a heater in the kitchen and the smell was terrible. The box fan in the bedroom near the laundry room was filthy with dust/dirt. The washing machine smelled mildewy. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are treacherous. One of our teens slipped down them the first night.
I was not expecting luxury, but it was dingy compared to how it looks in the pictures.

The home is an older coastal house.
We loved our stay. The bedrooms had lots of room and the beds were comfortable. The deck over looked the bay. Lots of great memories watching boats and wildlife. The kitchen is older. It is well stocked though it does not have a dishwasher.
The owners were friendly and helpful. They were easy to work with and get ahold of though the app. There were lots os supplies from a sewing kit to reading glasses.
If you love the feel of a older coastal HOME with a great view. I would recommend this home for your stay

Spent two nights. A good location for exploring the southern coast. The house is a tad old but its very well sticked and the communication was fabulous. I'd stay here again no problem

Everything about this property and owner was perfect. The view over the water was exceptional. With the owner's tip to try take out at the American Market (home made Indian food a short walk from the house) we had dinner at the dining table watching the sunset. It was equally enjoyable having breakfast on the deck. Having loads of games to choose from was also a treat. I could go on, but I'm sure you can see we highly recommend a stay here.
Warm wishes,
Jim

This was an older home but clean and comfortable. We felt like we were visiting family! The home was well stocked and the views were spectacular. Lori went above and beyond and was super accommodating and easy to work with when we had some changes to our original plans.

Every thing needed was there but it did need a few upgrades

Title says it all, this house is cozy and has everything you need. We forgot our games but found uno and a few others to play. The view is amazing and the beds comfortable and clean. Host was quick to reply and communicated very well. Will definitely be staying again. Only thing that would make this place better is the path being usable for everyone to get down to the bay.

The beds were very comfortable. Towels and sheets were clean. Our host was very responsive and kind. The house could use a good deep clean. The dishes, drawers and cabinets were all dirty. We purchased and installed a new shower head for less than $15 because both showerheads leaked terribly. No beach access due to extreme overgrowth. Great location. Excellent Indian food across the street at the American Market.

Although the house was neat and clean, it could use a little TLC (paint). It also felt like the toilets were made for children. The sunsets are amazing out on the deck. The house is conveniently located and very cozy. I would rent it again.

Nice cozy beach house, the kids had a blast. Close to beach access. The kids slid down the hill in the back through the tunnel to get there, but the adults went around. We caught some clams. Lori was great. All in all I would highly recommend. The price was very good too. Cheaper than 3 hotel rooms and we all got to be together. No dishwasher. But it does have a sauna that the boys enjoyed. Beautiful view of the bay. We BBQ'd on the back deck and watched the sunset.

Lori is awesome and the view is amazing. Perfect little house! Not modern or fancy but perfect for us people who don’t need the Taj Mahaul when getting sandy and playing at the coast. Great price and dog friendly led me to this house and I’ll return for the view and how I was treated by the host! :)
Thank you for sharing your house with us Lori!

I guess You get what you pay for! Still very pricey for a very rundown and so cluttered place that needs lots of work, the owner try’s to make something’s right (towels, though cheap ones are in abundance including kitchen towels, no shortage of toilet paper either) but unfortunately that’s the only “pros” I can offer. The house badly needs a thorough cleaning and dusting with all the extra items all over just catching so much dust!!, and many common easy upgrades they choose not to do. Old Curtains that have holes in them, old bedding that smell musty, stained pillows, moldy shower curtain and a messy kitchen with “sticky” pans, do not wear white socks if you don’t want to throw them out. I felt extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in this house. I would never rent it again ever!

Really not practical for older adults as the stairs for the upper bedroom are steep with short treads also the toilets are on the short side

Loved staying here by the beach with our family. Lori was super friendly and receptive. She also provided farm fresh eggs for us upon arrival. We were greeted by a gorgeous beach sun set, herons and other sea birds on the beach. This house is so well appointed, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house, with all the comforts of home. Lots of everything for you to use, so we felt comfortable cooking and baking (yes there was even flour and baking supplies). The upstairs room is very hot, even with the fan on. The windows don't open very well up there, but it cooled down in the evening. You just need to close and open curtains to reduce the radiant heat from the sun. Fantastic space for our family of 4. Sauna is in one of the bathrooms but it was too hot in the summer to use it. Path to the beach is a scramble and overgrown, but beach access is easy down the road in either direction. A little difficult getting in/out because it is on a main road, but easy enough once you get used to looking for the landmarks to turn in time. We would stay here again.

This rustic home on a main road is another world on the back deck! Beautiful views of the bay; watch the tides ebb and flow - amazing sunset!!! House is very well appointed; host is wonderfully communicative.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The beds were so comfortable, and all the other amenities were just right. The sunset was amazing on the day we were there. I really wish it had beach access, the path down was steep and covered in blackberry bushes so we weren't able to get to the water. Great stay and the hostess was wonderfully pleasant.

We loved our stay at Lori and Frederico’s house. We had everything we needed for a cozy weekend away from home! We’re looking forward to possibly returning and trying out a BBQ on the deck. Only had one issue with an inebriated gentleman who approached my husband while he was in the carport. The guy was nice enough and moved on when asked😊. My favorite part about our stay was the cozy upstairs rocker and the beautiful view of the bay. We were also very happy with the communication from our hosts. They welcomed us and made sure we were having a comfortable stay.

Stayed here for 5 days as a family vacation to enjoy the beaches, crabbing/clamming and Coos Bay in general.
House was great for our needs with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. it was well stocked and clean. There are even some extra cables and plugs in case you forgot a cable to charge a device.
Hosts communicated well and left us some sodas and water for our arrival which was a nice treat.
House is a bit older and not updated, but everything works and in good condition. Washer and dryer is newer and was great to have for the family's trips down to the beach.
One note is the TV in the living room isn't Smart, so had to plug in a laptop to load up Netflix/Hulu/Disney+ for the kids. It does have cable TV in each room, but kids aren't used to cable (and commercials) .

The house was well-stocked with all essentials—kitchen, games, TVs, laundry, linens, etc. The view from the deck was great and sunsets were spectacular. We knew about the road noise but it didn’t bother us. The farm fresh eggs were lovely and we enjoyed them. We will definitely return!

It was just my partner and I on this trip but this home would be perfect for a few couples or a good-sized family.

We stayed for a short, one night stay. The view from the deck was beautiful and the place had everything we needed. We really appreciated the washer/dryer and the comfy living space. We wished it was easier to get to the beach - as it was, we couldn't get through the thorny bushes without a fight, so we didn't get to experience the clamming or walking on the beach. Maybe this was due to the time of year? Bedrooms were clean and spacious, though we all wished for more comfortable beds. We also wished we could use the upstairs bedroom, but it was very hot and stuffy and since there were no screens in the windows, we couldn't air it out/cool it down. Lots of room though and we were glad for the space. Thanks!

We all were able to watch the beautiful sunset together while bbqing on back deck.. Beach house is completely stocked with anything you might need from a baby gate to clamming shovels. Older home with lots of character and beautiful views. All bedrooms on different levels allowing for extra privacy. Home is right on main road but we all had a great time.

Nice and comfortable house close to everything in Coos Bay/ North Bend area. Not far from great seafood and the dunes! Beautiful views of the bay and the mist rolling in somedays with awesome sunsets on the back porch. Great communication with owners who were quick to response to any questions. Fresh eggs were in the fridge waiting on us! As others have noted the house is fairly close to a main road which can be busy at times. Yard is not fenced in so some privacy is missing. Enjoyed the stay!

The house is older but kept up and clean. It was well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen as well as extra blankets, linens and pillows in the bedrooms and towels in the bathrooms. I didn’t make it down the trail to the bay for any clamming because it looked a little treacherous for me but my teenagers were able to navigate it. However, I did enjoy the fresh blackberries growing on the property. The house is situated on a fairly busy street so there was some road noise. We brought our 2 little dogs and one is a door dasher and there was no fenced area for pets so that was a little concerning for us but we utilized the provided baby gates to keep her away from the front door. This house is really close to some beautiful beaches and the town of Brandon which is where we spent our days shopping and beech combing.

The house was adorable and could have fit a much larger group. The location isn't the best, it's a very busy street all hours of the night but super close to amenities and w/in 10 min driving to the beach

Wow!
The view when you enter this property was amazing! We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at the beach house. The home was well stocked and had LOTS of extras. I felt like I was staying at a relative’s home. The bonus of fresh eggs and flowers on arrival were the icing on our vacation. Thank you!
