Pool is geared towards children but I don’t feel like pool hours are. Pool doesn’t open until 10 am and checkout is at 11. Pool stays open until midnight and then hallways are insanely loud and everyone gets woken up.

It would have be better if they had a tub instead. For the most part we had a great time.
3.1
My team was booked here because of the location, readings and breakfast buffet availability at 6:30am. The buffet was not available until 7:30am according to an employee, and, the same employee said the breakfast is not that good anyway. My team needed to change rooms because of cleanliness. We found bugs in the rooms and the need skirt had blood on it. The stay was a disappointment.

The rooms are arranged around extremely long corridors which wrap around a central atrium... a very long walk from our room to the reception area which connects to an enormous atrim evoking one of those 70's-era Las Vegas motels a couple blocks off the Strip. Our room, however, was large and comfortable, with one of the best bathrooms we had seen on this long car trip, featuring a large, tiled, walk-in shower, a refreshing change from those slippery bathtubs found in motels all across the country. Convenient location, easy on-and-off Interstate 35/80.

The cleanliness not great building in rough shape

The stay was ok but could use some updates. Beds had bed bugs. My 2 kids woke up bitten by them. My wife informed the front desk and they said they were already aware of it and the general manager won't do anything about.
3.1
It was a fun place and comfortable enough, but the people working the front desk were horrible. Rude, unhelpful, uncaring, and lazy. The life guards were the only ones there doing their jobs.

We stayed at your hotel from 9-27 through 9/29. This was as a very poor experience. First, we had mold in our 1st room (#161) when moved to second room (#181) which also had mold and when it was brought to the attention of the check in staff, they sent maintenance and he simply denied that it was mold and wiped it off. First of all mold doesn't just "wipe off" and second rust does not grow on drywall. We were then moved to room 283 (third move by the way). Second the website states a "Buffet" breakfast as well as the check in staff confirming the "Buffett" breakfast. When we showed up Sat morning at 8am for the "Buffet" breakfast, it was pizza which was empty and once it came out was just one pizza, not very "Buffet" now is it. With the amount of people how far do you think 1 pizza will go? Third, the hotel had a very distasteful odor of a mix of old, musty, dirty odor. We frequently visit the Ramada water park hotel in Sioux Falls, SD and have never experienced such an awful stay. The pool had floaties and seemed cloudy, to me that states filtration issues. We picked your hotel so my granddaughter could enjoy swimming and a good stay. Fourth the front desk was asked for a couple extra towels for room #113 which never were delivered so we had to share a wet towel to dry after the shower and we had the maid service please on the door Sat and it was not done.
We left 1 day early, staff at front were getting short, snappy, and rude.
3.1
The experience was absolutely terrible! We encountered bed bugs and the staff refused to take any action. Despite our patience, they did not offer to change our room, and they neglected to assist with the necessary treatment of our clothes. We were left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time while they "figured things out". Additionally, the breakfast buffet only offered unpleasant cold pizza and coffee. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience with an unhelpful front desk. We will not consider returning in the future.

Mold, out dated, pool barely open.

Its okay

The room was very adequately sized for a suite. Staff wasn't overly friendly or helpful.

Very day we had to go to desk and get key activated. Maid service was terrible took our towel never replaced them.Elevator was out of order. No breakfast on Monday was supposed to from 6:30 to 9:30. Hair dryer didn’t work. Hot water didn’t always work. The mold on doors was terrible. I have stayed at Ramada motels before they were always great but this Ramada was horrible

We booked this hotel specifically for the waterpark, being that we were visiting from out of town and thought it would be a great way to spend time with family.
Tl;dr on this review is - if your expectations are low and you don't experience sensory issues, this is probably fine.
*The Waterpark*
When we arrived, it was a Saturday - the waterpark was packed and the lifeguards were fairly attentive. The park fixtures had definitely seen better days, and were showing signs of disrepair (peeling paint, parts repaired with duct tape); however, the staff was cleaning regularly.
Our final day there, the waterpark was closed because of no lifeguard staffing. My frustration with this was not because of it being closed, but because of how it was communicated- which is that it wasn't. We found out by overhearing the staff telling another guest asking about waterpark hours for the day. Nothing had been texted to guests or posted on pool entrances, etc. I just kept thinking, what if you booked this hotel for today only, showed up with your family excited to spend time at the waterpark, only to find out it was closed.
*The Rooms*
Poorly maintained, poorly upkept. There were hunks out of wood funiture, deep staining on fabrics, walls, and ceilings, and the room smelled strongly of smoke even though they were non-smoking rooms.
*Breakfast*
There was free breakfast at the on-site restaurant. The food was meh, and the restaurant space itself left much to be desired (one word: sticky).

The hotel shows its age. They have done a remodel and the bathroom was nice. But, due to the nature of having a water park in the middle of the hotel, you can tell they battle moisture issues. Huge fans were blowing down the hall the entire time we were there.
The breakfast was not great, with only one waffle maker working, and the juice dispenser was inoperable. So, they brought out jugs of juice, and it was a brand I've never heard of. The options were pancakes, sausage links, and hash brown patties, along with a waffle (if you were willing to wait). You could also tell that staffing was an issue, as it often took a while for food or drinks from the restaurant. It also took a while for the staff to get around to cleaning things, so tables were often sticky.
The redeeming thing was the water park. The kids had a blast and we enjoyed the adults only hot tub.
3.1
The pool area was great. The one pool wasn’t open when we checked in but by the time we got to the pool area it was open. My kids really showed themselves.
Now the hotel & restaurant itself could use some cleaning & updating. Went to Boss pizza & chicken for supper. Food was ok. We’ve had better but also had worse. Menus need updated. Prices do not match what you are charged.
I feel like a good deep clean, some renovations this could be a better place.
3.1
The stay was great. The water park room is pretty humid, so be prepared for that. The service was nice and the drink tickets were awesome!
3.1
Overall the stay was fine. Kids enjoyed the pool. Someone staying had pulled the fire alarm and there were kids jiggling doorknobs in middle of night. This is no fault of the company but we all had to go outside until the firemen cleared the area. It was not as quiet as i hoped.

We booked our hotel on May 23 for a family wedding. The reservation was for 2 nights, August 9 and 10. On August 8 I received a confirmation email and text asking to complete pre-arrival check-in. I completed the check-in around 4pm on the 8th and was told everything was good. On August 9, I was contacted at 1:30pm that we no longer had a room (check-in was at 4pm). We were in the middle of a 5 hour drive and had to pull over to call the hotel to confirm. The person answering the phone was not helpful and did not seem to care that they double booked us and made no attempt to help us in any way.
With the state fair that same weekend, they obviously found they could sell our room for more and decided that was more important than to honor our booking.
This would have been our 3rd stay in this hotel, but we will never consider them again after this. They left us in a really bad spot, having to scramble to find a hotel for that night on a super busy weekend, not to mention having to explain to our kids that they weren't going to be able to enjoy the water park they had been looking forward to.
The Fairfield Inn Des Moines West stepped up and found a room for us. Their customer service was great and the room was much nicer than the Ramada Tropics.

This hotel was even better than we expected for our family. There were multiple pool areas and slides for all ages! The room was bigger and better than we expected as well. Plenty of space for us.
3.1
Room was clean. And air conditioning worked awesome
3.1
Water slide looked awesome.

I requested a roll away that took an hour and half to receive. Once it was delivered unmade with disgusting stains and a lot of mouse droppings on it. I immediately put it back out in the hall. I cannot believe that anyone would deliver anything in this condition. I have photos, but it's not letting me add them
3.1
It was a nice friendly place to stay and very kid friendly. Will stay again
3.1
Breakfast was awful not stocked and area was not kept clean
3.1
Excellent hotel for families with kids. Pool and slides are so fun and there’s a bar nearby so the big people can get a drink. Of course it’s not 5 star for the price but it’s perfect for a fun night with family.
3.1
Good place to meet family
3.1
Everything was wonderful.
3.1
Carpets had a puddle from a leak and had black stuff growing, linen had holes, restaurant has deceptive prices on menu and server refused to honor, were given hand towels to shower with, had to purchase own bathroom tissue, allowed numerous intoxicated people to hangout near guest rooms, sand in the pools, employees would continuously leave the music's volume on high after pool closed keeping little ones awake all night.
3.1
First the front desk lady had no response to me at all no smile, nothing said heres your key your to the right. The pool area is amazing except the hot tub was broke down and that's why I booked this is so I could be in the hot tub while the kids played. The room had torn carpet and looked like it wasn't vacuumed, there was no soap or shampoo, we had to go get sheets for the hide a bed the beds were comfy slept pretty good. will not stay here again. really needs updated
3.1
The hotel really needs some updating, it smells in there

Water park and staff were wonderful. The rooms were very nice. The clean up on breakfast area was the only thing I would say was lacking.
3.1
Where do I even start? The front desk employees are not friendly and are good at ignoring guests. The whole place is run down. There’s black mold around the edges of all the pools. It’s very humid in there and hard to breathe. The lifeguards are uptight. The room is run down and dirty. We had a suite with a pull out bed with no bedding for it, we had to go ask for toilet paper. I definitely won’t be going there again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
3.1
I liked the ample parking here at the Ramada Tropics.
The room itself had dings discoloration/scuff marks in the walls. The staff at the desk was helpful with the daily wristbands for the water park although pool water did discolor our swimsuits. The mini fridge and microwave were handy, as the daily breakfast was less than average and I am typically easy to please when it comes to food.
There were pluses and minus throughout our stay - overall it would be a good day trip place to stay but not great for a longer time.
3.1
There was mold all over our room. Door was covered in it, on lamp shades..just nasty!!
3.1
Place is a dump, the pool is the only reason people stay here. The pool area is much more than you get at most places and for kids is great. With that said, service is less than great and the rooms are terrible, rust on anything metal, overall unclean, and we even had an exposed wire next to our AC unit.
3.1
No door hanle on bathroom, towel rack falling off wall. Overall poor maintenance. Disappointed, I had expected more from a Ramada
