We drove several hours to find that our room wasn’t ready even though several other people got a room. Desk person not very accommodating or helpful other than to say check back. Had to meet family and couldn’t freshen up. Checked twice room still not ready. Given text info about their cleaning policy but our room hadn’t been cleaned after 2 nights. Found out you had to request cleaning-that wasn’t mentioned. Breakfast potatoes for three days were soggy and old. Wouldn’t stay here again! High price for subpar hotel. Only plus was it’s close to the aerial lift bridge.

We loved the location and our room had a wonderful view of the water. The room is comfortable, the public spaces were clean, the staff was friendly, and check in was quick and easy. The breakfast left a little something to be desired, but they still had plenty of tasty options. Even though we were on the ground floor, we did not find any noise from the outside disturbing us. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we hope to stay there again in the future.

We've stayed here several times with zero problems until this time. Bed was hard & squeaky. We were on 2nd floor. People above us sounded like they were gonna come through our ceiling! They were loud from 3am on. I finally got up at 6am after laying in bed listening to the crap. We did let the front desk know. All they said was sorry.

The toiletbowl was dirty and there was hair in the sink.

Wonderful motel! Right beside the boardwalk and lift bridge. Rooms were very clean, beds were soft, breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend!!

It was a much-needed time away from the numerous dr’s appointments that have been happening for us. I called in advance and asked location of handicap accessible room. I was told it would be city view room on 3rd or 4th floor. When we arrived we were disappointed. Our room was on first floor and our view was of the parking lot cars and a tree. Room was much smaller than depicted in the photos we saw before we made our reservation. So the words accessible suite seems a bit of an exaggeration. Also shortage of handicapped accessible parking spots close to the ramp which we needed to use to get in and out of the hotel (only 2 spots), on our last night there we had to walk a long ways from the available parking to access the ramp. So, it wasn’t the best place for us like we imagined. I guess we wouldn’t reserve there again especially due to the issues explained above.

We have stayed in Canal Park several time, but this was our first time at Lift Bridge Lodge. The stay was absolutely wonderful. With a georgous lake view and a room that was clean and comfortabe it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The breakfast area was bigger then most and provided a great variety of items. There was always someone available to refill items, clean tables and take care of things.

The hotel was nice, food was great, and we had what we needed BUT, there was water in the ice bucket when he checked and I thought it was strange that wasn’t dumped/cleaned. The overall goodness of the facility was ruined by the paper thin walls/ceilings. My family was woken up 3 separate times from the rooms surrounding us. Once from loud laughter Nextdoor, once at 6am to children running above us and adult stomping, and once to snoring Nextdoor. It is normal to hear running in hotels, but a snoring neighbor? That really shows how thin the walls are. We spent way too much money for dealing with that. We had 3 small kids we needed to keep asleep and we did not appreciate the wake ups.

There is a lot of walking noice from the room one floor up. The TV remote was tedious The room was lovely and the view spectacular!

We had a special request for housekeeping staff and they were very responsive.

The hotel was very nice, the breakfast was very good. The location was great - on the lake, easy to walk the boardwalk and next to the restaurants and entertainment.

Location is perfect but they need to have fire pit outside to warm up in the evenings. Also, windows doesnt have curtains to cover them during night. City lights make room light and hard to sleep, specially in the morning when sun is rising.

Lift Bridge Lodge was amazing. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are superb. The breakfast was top notch and the best we have ever had at a hotel. We came to watch freighters and the location didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend a lakeview room. We were able to watch from our room or were super close if we wanted to go to pier. Would highly recommend Lift Bridge Lodge and we will be coming back.

I opted for a jetted tub/fireplace suite with a balcony, described as having a bridge view, but with all the trees i couldnt see much of the bridge (or the canal) at all. There was an issue w the jetted tub the first night. Lastly, the breakfast was only so-so. The grounds are lovely, but all in all, not worth the price.

Walking distance to many areas with nice lake superior view. The standard rooms are a little small for 5-6 people, looks bigger online.

What a great stay we had. Walked 10,000 steps on the path and around town. Great brewery close for drinks & eats. Shopping was very reasonable being a tourist destination. Hotel was a perfect resting place for non-stop fun!

This was a great location and clean. I didn’t give a 5 star as their pool desperately needs an upgrade and the walls were quite thin. We were kept awake until 1am listening to our neighbors footsteps.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The view was lovely and the location made it easy to enjoy shops, restaurants, and scenic walks.

You can’t beat this location with the bridge right outside your door. It is very walkable. Clean rooms and common spaces. Breakfast was above average for this type of hotel. It’s a great option for a tourist in Duluth. I had to resist the urge to rate lower because we had a very unpleasant experience with them before we even checked it. The morning before we left, I called to book a roll away crib. I was told our reservation wasn’t in their system. They said all they had left for us was a basic king bed room, not the suite we booked and that we would have to change rooms mid stay to a basic queen room. I dealt with multiple staff members on two different shifts saying the same thing. After spending all day refreshing for last minute cancellations, I was able to book the suite I originally wanted but for $400 more. When I called to confirm that reservation, they said I had 2 of those suites booked. So, my original reservation wasn’t lost, it was in their system all along. This experience ruined my day before we left, forcing me to waste hours calling hotels and looking online for any Canal Park options that fit our needs as a family traveling with 2 under 2. They didn’t offer us any compensation for the trouble and even tried to make us pay the $400 higher rate until I called them out on it. Horrible experience and I’m still shocked they didn’t offer even so much as a coupon as an apology.

Was one of the best getaways! Back patio was perfect for coffee by the lake in the mornings, and shopping/dining are within walking distance. Staff was excellent! Expedia messed up our reservations and the staff did everything to accommodate us during a busy season.
