During my stay, I noticed that my room had windows overlooking the indoor swimming pool, which unfortunately contributed to a strong, salty odor that felt quite overwhelming at times. It made my experience less comfortable than I had hoped for, and I truly wished for a more pleasant atmosphere.

This place is absolutely amazing from the from the comfort of the rooms to the restaurant and to the beach side to the lake. We had a wonderful experience here at this lovely hotel.

Great band, beautiful view from bar area
Did not like no windows in our room to outside

We had the misfortune of getting one of the rooms on back of property that overlooks the pool area. Immediately upon entering, the room stunk of chlorine and the noise from the pool area wasn't great. I'm sure if you get a lake side view, the experience would be different. The staff at breakfast were nice, but I have never seen a more disorganized group and it was painful to watch. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, but the restaurant needs improvement. I'd never stay here again.

I ended up with a poolside room on the first floor. The room smelled like a musty, mildewed basement. I tried to change rooms and was told "you booked thru Expedia, we can't change your room. The restaurant was nice with a good breakfast. The lakeside of the property is nice.

It was a nice hotel but the check out was a big hassle. There were 2 errors made in the price of the pet fees and to fix it was difficult as there wasn’t anyone answering phones at the hotel on multiple occasions , also calling from Canada. They didn’t offer any more discounts with their errors.

The hotel and rooms were nice. Pool area was nice and salt water pool was a great plus. Restaurant was not great bought breakfast with my hotel room we waited more than an hour for food. Didn’t get drinks until the sitting for a long period of time. Menu is overpriced for quality of food. Servers were nice.

I wish the beach would have been cleaned up from seaweed. We were there Sat - Tuesday morning and not once did we see anyone clearing the seaweed. Other guests left garbage on the tables overnight that maybe the same beach "crew" could have cleaned up. We cleaned it up however, would be nice to see that done by the Hotel staff. Other than that, we love this place are returning guests.

Enjoyed our time here. Loved being able to use a paddle board but would have like to be informed that it was included in being a hotel guest. The water/coffee station near the front desk was fantastic. Gym was adequate but very warm and water fountain not working well.

This is our second stay here, once in May and again in July! We are a senior couple and are so impressed with this hotel and everything it has to offer, it will always be our first choice when in the area. The lounge has great specials and atmosphere, the restaurant fantastic breakfasts and a full menu... (the chicken wings are great too!) The pool, is the perfect temperature and plenty of seating. Seriously, when you check into this hotel, you need not go anywhere else to eat or be entertained. Its all here! Nice walking trails, and last night I sat on my balcony and watched a storm roll in. The bed is fantastic, the pillows come with Firm and Soft (embroidered on the pillowcases) the air-conditioning easy to control and what can I say- but a mini fridge and microwave too!! The TV was large and plenty of channels. Seriously, look no further. A Fantastic lobby too with coffee and chilled water.. oh yes - 24 hour work out room! Love it!!

The location of the hotel is amazing! Right on the beach! The room was clean. I struggled with the lack of friendliness from front desk staff, as well as staff in the restaurant in which we were supposed to have breakfast.

Checked in, Mercy up charged me right away for another room, then charged me an additional booking fee. Room was small, not clean, tub had hair in it. Never used the coffee maker. Any discounts that were promised were never fulfilled. I paid over $600/night for a $165/night room (plus valet fees of $82)

Room was nice, balcony was nice overlooking the lake. Beds were very hard and beach was noisy as people were parting til early morning. Meals at restaurant was ok, served cold soup forgot to turn on the warmer. It’s a fun spot to watch the lake.$

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and for $250/night I would expect better accomidations. The room was damp no matter how much air conditioning we had on. Beds were comfortable and it felt overall decently clean for hotel on the water that probably has a lot of people partying. Biggest complaint was the breakfast situatation. They need a buffet or faster option; I don't want to spend 1.5 hour waiting for breakfast. We sat down, it took us 20 minutes to get our order taken, then we waited over an hour to get our food. I counted only10 plates of food being brought out across that 1 hour - everybody was frusterated. My potatos were barely warm and my husbands pancakes were hard and thin. Food was gross. We didn't eat breakfast the second day and spent extra money to eat someplace else because it was such a terrible experiance. We saw others from our hotel eating at another place in town as well. I don't understand why you don't have a faster option for people who are generally not interested in having a 2 hour breakfast.

The hotel is located on the shore of Detroit Lake with a great beach, dock and views. The restaurant and the bar are top notch but a little pricey.

Our family stayed three nights and had a very nice, clean, comfortable room with the view of the lake. We really enjoyed the daily breakfast that came with our hotel package in the restaurant. They served great traditional breakfast food. The resort is nice for kids because there’s room to play outside and in the pool area with a couple games. A bonus perk that we sadly didn’t get to use was the complementary one-hour kayak or paddleboard rental that came with our reservation. It was too windy and chilly to use. The disappointment of our stay was the staff. The restaurant was highly understaffed, though they were friendly. The hotel front desk staff lacked customer service skills and seemed very unknowledgeable about their hotel. The boiler went out during our late night showers, but it was quickly fixed in the morning.

I needed to change our stay and because we booked thru Hotel.com we needed to go thru them to make the change and when I tried I was told they didn't have a room on the new date we needed so I had to cancel and lost our money...
The hotel actually did have a room when I called directly but couldn't do anything for us because we went thru Hotel.com....so I won't make this costly mistake again!!

No hot water the entire time; toilets not properly functioning. Holiday Inn kindly offered a full refund to all guests based upon conditions. I would request a refund from Expedia through Holiday Inn.
