They asked for a CASH ONLY deposit at check in. Uhh no? No hotel in the world does that unless its shady or something else. The atm in the lobby didnt work so they told us to go to the convenience store down the street to get cash. Absurd

Bathtubs and sink was filthy

I hate leaving bad reviews of places and therefore only do it when I feel it is truly needed. On a positive note the beds were extremely comfortable. Other than that the room smelled like corn chips, the blanket (non smoking room) had cigarette burns; the shower and bathroom in general had hairs all over; the toilet shot water out of the side when flushed, lights above beds did not work, filters had not been cleaned in who knows how long and my all time favorite free roomies disguised as roaches!!
I called the front desk to make sure I did not get any charges for broken/burned items etc due to their big sign in front of how much you would pay for each item "ruined." Front desk guy said he would be right up --90min later I had to call back to remind him he said he was coming. He came to basically look, shrug and say "I will tell them in the morning." If we were not so tired and did not have a 5hr drive home we would have checked out. Do better people!!!!

My stay was good.I didn't have any issues with the room itself.
I just wish that I could have turned the heat on. And they should upgrade the TV's.

As bad a a roadside motel. Smelly and poorly kept. They take $100 CASH as a deposit. Will avoid this brand in the future.

I paid for “premium “ room which started, there would be, “upgraded bedding and snack. Arrived at room to everything looking average, no snack nor toilet paper. Went to office to inquire about both and was given 1 roll of toilet paper and a snack. But, not before being told to not expect next time. I only “expect “ what I pay for. If your establishment isn’t offering such things, it shouldn’t be advertised.

READ THE REVIEWS. DO NOT STAY HERE. The deposit being cash and MORE than the room is wild. The place is terrifying and filthy. The reviews don’t even capture the extreme nature of this place. Don’t go.

I would caution anyone to stay away from this hotel. It was old, dirty. And sad. They forced you to give at 100$ CASH only deposit

Do not expect to be greeted with a smile. The toilet coughs up turds. The mattress feels like they got them from the dump itself. If you take a shower you come out dirtier than when you came in. Even the Bible is contaminated. I’ve been traveling for over a decade and this spot is a contender for the worst hotel in America. Even the Dennys next to the hotel suffers from this hotels existence. These rooms can’t be cleaned not even worth trying. Probably a contender for worst staff in America as well.

This hotel needs some staff changes they barely speak English and several guest were not informed ahead of time that they needed to have the deposit of $100 in cash which made the check in process very long, they also don't clean the rooms daily which is very lazy I think and poor business practices. After I finally checked in to my room I found dog hairs in both the beds blankets and sheets there were also spiders in my room and it was supposed to be some sort of upgraded room NOT!!! if adding some useless body washes shampoo and conditioner pumps to the shower wall and hand soap with the fancy sink is what you call and upgrade you need to think again! UGH! Then in order to get clean towels you had to take the dirty ones upfront and even then they didn't have the correct towels that got turned in to give back to you and the only ice machine that worked is the one by the office how inconvenient for guest that stay all the way in the back or have to walk up and down the stairs this place needs NEW MANAGENENT! I'll NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER RED ROOF INN PLUS AGAIN... YOU SHOULD RENAME IT REDROOF MINUS YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! THIS PLACE WAS TERRIBLE!

This was an uncomfortable stay while we were in Philadelphia and it makes me not want to stay at a Red Roof anytime in the future.
Upon arriving, we were not allowed into the lobby. The lobby is locked - you have to talk to the attendant from behind plate glass and slide your card and information through a slot in the glass - like you're at a jail.
They asked for $100 CASH security deposit - which was never requested at any time in the prior 3 months since I had made the reservation. Who carries $100 cash on them? Apparently this is the "security deposit" that will be returned to you upon check-out. We had never heard of such a thing.
We were given one key and we headed up to our room. We stayed 5 days/4 nights. Our air conditioner didn't work - we had it down to 60 degrees and it was still a steamy 80 degrees in our room at night. It was suffocating. Half of the elecric outlets did not work in the room and some were loose in the wall and wiggled when I plugged things in - this is a fire hazard. The shower was so narrow, it was difficult to stand in it. We didn't get new toiletries or new towels after 5 days.
The front desk attendant the first night was grouchy and rude; very demanding. The pictures in this add are NOT what you will find in the Red Roof Plus in Philadelphia. I'm not sure what the "Plus" stands for unless it's for "Added frustration" during a trip.

My boyfriend and I were in town for his daughter’s graduation stayed the night to attend the next day. We got up 9am on the day of check out to go to Wawa for beverages and hit the local planet fitness before checking out and going to his family’s house to get ready. We got back to the hotel around 10:55 , mind you check out is 11, to get our things and check out. Our room key was not working we couldn’t get in the room to get our things. Went to the front desk and explained that the key was not working we just want to get our things out. Nelsa, the front desk agent, refused to make a new key stating it’s almost check out. I again stated yes we are aware and just want to get our belongings out but can’t because the key isn’t working. What should be a simple fix was NOT. Nelsa again refused to simply produce a working key for us to get our things and even went as far as telling us to go find a housekeeper who can let us into our room. She’s sitting there with the key we have her refusing to make a key for us to get our things out. After 10 minutes of trying to find a housekeeper, who does not speak any English, and explaining what Nelsa told us to do, get her to open the door, she also mumbles check out check out in broken English. She barley understands what I’m saying. Not her fault. At this point we’re back at the front desk with Nelsa who looking sour as ever still refuses to make a working key after explaining what we just went through after following her instruction
