While staff were very nice, having to wait 25+ minutes on line to check in at 11:30 at night is unacceptable. They need more workers at the front desk.
Also, someone should actually answer the phone at the property when one calls from the airport, not get “mailbox full” or “unable to connect” messages.
No local phone number on website, had to call reservations to get it and find out where pickup at airport was.

Front Desk agent who checked me in was not very friendly. I work in hospitality and she barely made eye contact. Handed me the key but did not tell me where the elevator was until I asked.

The rooms did not have the chairs and other furniture. Hotel mentioned that they had sold all their furniture in prep for their upcoming renovation. The wait at the cafe for break fast was over 30 minutes. The gates of the hotel were horrible in the rush hour morning. Asked front desk to leave those open in the morning but they brushed off the request.

The customer service was terrible the hotel charge me double I spoke with the manager they denied about taking another payment from my bank account

This hotel is the definition of mid. It was clean and was a hotel close to the airport. If that's all you are looking for, then you're set. Everything was outdated, stale and just had a weird old smell to parts of the hotel. The entire service staff looked, acted and talked like if they had one thousand things to do, being at the Crowne Plaza wouldn't make the list.

It was overall a super nice stay.
Friendly personal, many a bit too friendly at breakfast, but I'm used to doing everything myself, so it is a cultural difference I guess

Smalll room (314) next to elevator with dirty windows. It was fine for one night before catching a flight the next morning

Standard airport hotel. A bit dated, but clean. The staff were quick and attentive.
My biggest issue was the club two doors down. I stayed on a Friday night and you can definitely here the music from some rooms.

Overall, the hotel was good, but the surrounding was not great. Front desk mentioned only two bottles of water is complimentary on the first day after that we need pay for the water. No restaurant is in walkable distance .Apart from this stay was good.

Good location. Noise from a nearby club was overwhelming and it went all night. Hotel could use some sound shielding. Front desk was outstanding from a cheerfulness, proficiency and helpfulness perspective.
The shuttle service was odd as he “challenged” me to product verification that I was staying at the hotel without giving reason why. We’re not from the area and therefore it was an odd request. The manner in which he asked was not professional. But I found the reason to be petty. Coming from a more friendly environment he should be more tactful in challenging people who have just spent the entire day traveling but more so who cares if every once in awhile someone not staying at the hotel is looking for a ride. Am sure it’s not overwhelming and it would be a nice gesture to help someone out getting to where they need to be. EWR is not a very easy place to get to or leave from and helping people out would be a nice thing to do. It doesn’t cost you anything since you have a set rotation to and from the hotel anyway. Help the community out and perhaps the payback will come back to you in some other way. Your way is typical east coast which is not a complement.

Reception allowed 4 people to skip us in line because they were flight attendants. While I was there with a broken ankle and needed to rest.
TV screen was old and blue in color.
No outside seating while I waited for an uber.
Needed ice for my ankle, No ice machine on our floor.
No Freezer in the room for ice pack bought elsewhere.
No Microwave in room to heat food, had to go downstairs...again with a broken ankle.
Thought Crowne Plaza was supposed to be a nicer hotel.

The hotel was ok. Clean and average. Front desk staff was friendly but at least polite. My complaint was with the airport shuttle. I got on at the airport in the evening. It was dark and you couldn’t see the interior of the van. 3 people tripped getting in. The next day, the driver didn’t get the van door. I was the only one getting on at the hotel. The driver waved to me to come and went directly to the back and loaded my bag. I thought he would then open the passenger sliding door but instead he went directly to the driver door. I opened it and struggled to close it. Upon arriving at the airport, I had to open the door myself again. The doors can be awkward heavy and all doors are different. I would think it would be a liability to have the passenger open and close the door themselves.

Definitely not a $300/night room experience.
Pretty old and in major need of renovation for an IHG property

Very thin walls with very loud neighbors. Noisy refrigerator, the phone doesn’t work, I had to go down to the reception to register my complaint and thereafter for the next 30 min no one comes in. I was staying for just one night to catch an early morning flight. After checking in at 11 pm, it is pathetic that we encounter such a situation. Be it that this belongs to Crowne Plaza franchise, if basics aren’t working, it is not worthy of being listed on Hotels.com as a hotel. The staff were politely apologetic but couldn’t solve the problem

I hope this doesn’t happen to you. This hotel was sold out when I arrived even though I had made a reservation thru the app. It was late and I had no where to go. They didn’t care about my safety and that it was late. I had to walk down the highway to a motel which was not remotely the same caliber of stay I was hoping for.

Close to AirPort. Excellent shuttle service. Hotel ok to stay in for a night. Needs an update but clean. Beds comfy and breakfast was good.

My stay at this hotel was exactly what I was looking for in a hotel. It was close to the airport, had a shuttle that ran hours that worked perfect for my flight, it felt safe and it was clean. The only thing I would improve was the restaurant. There was not nearly enough seating available for the guests. I had to sit at the bar (not my first choice) and I saw several groups leave because there was no where to sit. Service was good; there was just not enough seats.

Hotel is dated. Ridiculous that we had to pay for self-parking. Had we realized it we would definitely have booked elsewhere. Will not book here again.

Directions to get the shuttle from the airport to the hotel need to be improved. Phone directions told me to get the P4 shuttle to the air train to P4 and catch the hotel shuttle there. There is no P4 shuttle. You need to get the old terminal A shuttle to the air train. There were about 20 of us who didn't know what to do. Fortunately a bus driver set us straight. The airport needs to improve their signage as well. The have an arrow with P4 pointing to shuttles, then no more signs for
P4 by the buses. After 13 hours of traveling it was disconcerting. The fact that there are two terminal As doesn't help either. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay.

Booked this hotel when my flight was canceled. Didn’t realize that it would’ve been a 4 PM check-in because it was the middle of the night and they cancelled our flight last minute. Front desk was very kind and accommodating, they let us have the room at 2am. We only stayed in the hotel for four hours it was a bit of a blur, nothing wrong with this hotel. It’s very basic. The shuttle took a very, very long time to come and the drive wasn’t friendly. The only real negative is they accidentally booked somebody else in our room so just as we were finally going to sleep the door flung open I’m not too concerned, but I also wouldn’t give it five stars. Excellent front desk staff.

Amazing experience. Amazing price, amazing room, amazing staff. I was surprised at how well-kept the hotel is, it has a wonderful smell in every room
The 24-hour shuttle to the airport was incredible for going to NY.
The room service was also excellent.

In spite of the fact that the views from my room were incredibly depressing, given the reasonable price, the hotel was otherwise pretty good.
. It had courteous service, decent food in the restaurant and a very efficient and well run shuttle.

The shuttle is supposed to leave on the hour and half hour. Our shuttle left at 45 past so not sure how they say those times. Old , outdated hotel. Good enough for one night after trip overseas

If the cooler is not blowing right into the writing desk, this place can have a 10/10 :)

Of course It’s an airport hotel, so there’s a lot of traffic of everything (people, cars, planes, etc); nothing new there. Staff was great and lobby area pretty nice and clean. However, the room I had, although clean by hotel standards, felt and smelled old and uncomfortable. Would only recommend if it’s the only option for a quick overnight jump to EWR.

Efficient airport hotel. Everything worked, everything clean, staff did their jobs effectively, if impersonally. Shuttle to airtrain on time.
Water temp in shower varied a tad, but these things happen.
Got what I paid for, at a good price for the area.
Would stay again.
