Felt like a motel
3.6
Hotel was still under renovations in some areas. I think they could have a better entrance so u don't have to walk thru all the dusty areas. The room was excellent very clean and inviting. Staff was very friendly and helpful as I had to cancel a reserved room for my son. No Cancellation fee was charged.

Considering the hotel is going through construction. Check in was good. The room was fair - the sheets on the bed had hair strands around the pillows. and their were stains on some of the covers. The bathroom was omitting a 2nd trash can, which i requested, but did not receive. After I requested the linens to be replaced. The room was fine.
3.6
When we arrived were not completely aware of all the renovations and were pretty annoyed that some of the services/facilities were not open or in service. We arrived in our room and there was hair on the counter next to the bed and also in the bed when we pulled back the sheet. Then opened the mini Fridge and it was full of water which was leaking all over the floor and a large puddle. When we went to call the front desk from the phone in the room the phone was not connected and when I say not connected I mean no Jack plug from the phone to the wall. So yes we requested another room.
Bring us to the next room and things were ok other than the barn door to the bathroom would not open and close well, I think was not on the track. And it was a ok room, nothing special. And then here comes 10pm and my daughter looks over to a bug crawling in the bed. We wanted out at that point and honestly just dealt since we had already asked for another room. We are not bougie but we do ask for clean accommodations and these were not considering all the issues we had within just the first 10 minutes.
Would not recommend this hotel and we will not be going back. The renovations they are doing look like will be nice just hope the maintenance and housekeeping of the rooms improve for future guests. We also spoke with a woman on the elevator that agreed with what we were annoyed by and she said at least was cheap, sorry not cheap enough for what we dealt with. Photos are deceiving

The ratings are somewhat low only because of the renovations underway for the property upgrades. It is a bit confusing to figure out how to get to the new "lobby" to check in however, the upgrades look great so far!
3.6
The room was nice and the staff were very friendly however it should have been indicated at the time of booking that the hotel was under renovation, I would have chosen something else for my anniversary.
3.6
Very clean. Great place to stay
3.6
Renovations suck, updated hallways & rooms are cool though.

Enjoyed.

Construction going on.

TLDR: Yes, they're under heavy construction which is not advertised anywhere and inconvenient. However, I would try them one more time post-construction to see what I think. Staff was excellent!
Pros:
- Staff was kind and helpful
- Room was clean and modern, the shower had great water pressure
- As an added amenity due to construction, they were offering a happy hour and complimentary breakfast
Cons:
- The elevator constantly smelled like weed
- There were men always blocking the one entry door, smoking and cursing and the only other door that looked available had another man sitting in front if it with plastic bags; unsure if he was homeless or just loitering for over an hour - traveling as a single female this was off-putting and did not make me feel safe; in addition to the doors being propped open so anyone could walk in at any time did not add to the feeling of safety
- I'm not sure who they consulted to contruct things, but the rooms seem to be designed with tall people/giants in mind. I'm 5'3" and the peephole in the door was not something I could see through, even standing on my tiptoes. Additionally, the magnified mirror in the bathroom was installed so high (at least 6" taller than me) on the wall, so that it was useless.
- The deadbolt to my room would not engage unless I put all my weight up against the door and turned it as hard as I could. Between this and the peephole issue, and the lack of outdoor security, I did consider leaving and going elsewhere.

Very nice work

The room was clean and ready an hour before our original check in time. Would have liked to have know they were undergoing major construction prior to booking, but overall this was a pleasant experience.
3.6
DO NOT STAY HERE. EXPEDIA SHOULD REMOVE THIS HOTEL FROM THEIR LIST. This hotel is under a total reconstruction and we did not feel safe. Front desk was just nonchalant and unprofessional, but they were in a makeshift office room. The rest of the staff was very nice. The parking lot and entryway was dark with no lighting, dirty, cigarette butts, and the doors were unlocked providing NO security! Shame on this hotel!

The staff was rude parking for handicap was awful. No one to help. When I couldn’t find parking was told to park and walk around the building. Was allergic to the pillows when asked for hypoallegenic they don’t provide them.was told pool was closed but saw people in it at check out. I was very disappointed with the hotel and staff

Amazing staff

There was no hair dryer available. When I requested one, the answer was No, we don’t have one.

The property is fully a construction zone. We selected this hotel because it had a pool and onsite dining, and arrive to find a full out construction zone, which meant that both the pool and onsite dining were closed. The bar was open part time with an extremely limited menu - none of which I could eat due to food allergies. In addition to that, the room we were in had a window that leaked every time it rained, which made for an extremely humid and damp smelling room. We requested maintenance and while they came and looked at it, they left and said they’d be back… after waiting a while, I flagged down one of the cleaning staff who said they’d radio for them to come back. We waited a long while, but nobody came. The window still leaks. The icing on the cake was the WiFi that didn’t work in our room - which meant I had to stand in the hall or go down a floor to check emails. The response from the front desk was to move rooms (at 9pm… with my two kids). Overall this was the worst experience at a hotel I’ve ever had… I would have had better amenities if I stayed at the motel 6 up the road - at least their pool was open and it was walkable to multiple dining options.

Rennovating and no signage. Drove around building three times before flagging a worker on the loading docks to gain access. Staff was NO help. Lady at check-in was rude. One of the worst places I've encountered in 40-years of travelling professionally throughout the world. Dirty, dusty & dangerous (dim lighting, scaffolding, plywood ramps for stairs, etc.
Room: bathroom door repeatedly came off tracks; excessive pubic hairs in/around bahroom; blood on comforter; room walls thin (neighbors sounded like they were in the room with us), etc.
*EXPEDIA: Room contracted for $212 33.80 tax first of all was WAY high for such horrendous accomadations and customer service. Checking Expedia website on the the day of check-in the room was advertised for $167! So was penalized $45 for reserving early????
At check-in was required to leave $50 deposit??? Desk person said it would be reimbursed at check-out; however, upon check-out the desk clerk advised me it should appear on my credit card statement in 3-5 business days. I do not recall ever having to leave a deposit when paying with xredit cars on file with travel agencies (Expedia, Travelicity, etc.)
Had we not been travelling for my sister's funeral in Va Beach and more time, would have definitely looked for other accomodations.

Every one was nice and friendly

Hair on bed sheets and pillow covers. Dirty floor, bathroom shower wall dirty. The renovations make the hotel look awful in the entrance. Staff was friendly.
3.6
This property was under construction and was not secured so anybody could walk in or be in a room that was still under construction. There was dust everywhere. Our room was not immaculate and there was no staff available most of the time that we were there. There was one young man working in a makeshift office who was very polite and professional, but we didn’t see anybody else and had trouble finding staff to answer questions or assist when we needed help.

Lovely!

The hotel is still under construction but the rooms have been renovated. Something not mentioned on the website is the hot breakfast that is included with the stay. Breakfast was decent and consisted of scrambled eggs with cheese, skilled potatoes, sausages, pancakes, fruits, grits, coffee, orange juice (and other juices I did not try). There was an mature lady that wears glasses working as one of the breakfast hosts. That lady appeared to be unfriendly. She looks like a mad security guard just waiting for people to try and do something wrong to approach. Like when she was asked if there was coffee and her reply was loud "no coffee"!!. Also there is no microwave in the rooms like it was advertised and there was no remote for the TV. I called the front lobby at least 20 times and no one answered.
Over all the hotel looks good. It's about 15 minutes drive from the beach and ocean front hotels. There are two elevators, a small fitness center and an indoor pool. There is also a large parking lot which is included with the room. Almost forgot to mention that I heard the people talking on the room next to mine. There is no sound proofing in the rooms.
3.6
The bedroom was nice and clean very comfortable. The staff is very kind and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like was that the hotel is under construction which made it look bad.
3.6
Under construction. No warning from y’all. Staff was rude but working in horrible conditions. Room was out of shower gel. Room was hot.
3.6
Average stay but disappointed that I was not advised ahead of time of construction and parking issue due to entrance issues.
Also bathroom amenities were not full
3.6
Hotel under major renovation and yet was allowed to reserve room. Canceled on set date @ 2:30 by email when of course im traveling. New accommodations were made
3.6
No food or coffee at breakfast. Unpleasant staff. Bad location.
Big mistake.
3.6
The Hotel is under remodel, the rooms are excellent and clean and up to date.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had no clue there was construction going on or we would not have stayed there. Navigating check in and the walk to find breakfast was not clear and inconvenient. We had no towels in the room when we got there and none were sent to us until
I had to call again in the morning. We had to dry off with our comforter therefore we slept w
Only a sheet. A refund request has been submitted via an Expedia agent.

The hotel location, main entrance, and state at the time of check-in was below average level of comfort/satisfactory for us. There is construction going on where those will limited mobility (which was 1 person in our party that stayed there) would find it challenging to traverse through the entrance/building. Also, was told that the breakfast could not be taken back to room for the limited mobility person in our party, who requires food with their morning meds. The stay was not pleasant which lead to us leaving without even notifying anyone of our checkout. We moved to a nicer and more accomodating hotel. Overall a subpar experience.
3.6
I booked this room wth intentions on being able to utilize the pool and to utter disappointment they were under construction and the pool had been taken out. This left not myself but ny 6yo daughter very dissatisfied after a long hot day and just wanting to come to our room and chill at the pool. I feel this shoukd have been something disclosed upon booking and I would really appreciate a partial refund for not being able to utilize a portion of the facilities.
3.6
Place is under construction and things just don’t work. WiFi, toilets, coffee pot, etc.
I had to change rooms and still some things did not work. Although some of the staff were helpful, others not so much.
3.6
Staff were nice and informative but the place should not be open if they are undergoing construction. Bathroom , bed sheets and pillow covers and towels looked stained. I’m sure it was washed, but they need to use bleach. Hand washing soap was not refilled. Nothing was dusted. Tub was stained
3.6
The room we booked on Expedia was “no longer available” and what was left cost my wife an extra $70. We had no choice being out of town and last minute before a concert. We felt taken advantage of. The staff seemed to care less and were also of no help when trying to show them the pricing difference. What was shown online for facilities was NOT what we found when we arrived. Worst experience we’ve had by far traveling along the east coast.
3.6
They were under construction but did not make us aware ahead of time.
There was no security because the main lobby was being renovated and they had all the guests coming through a side door that they left open 24hrs which was not monitored.
Thankfully our room was already renovated and very up to date! Some dirt and dust in the corners though.
The pool was closed without any heads up until we arrived.
Also - we were trying to save money and purchased several microwave meals instead of eating out. We did not know until we arrived that there was no microwave in the rooms (Even though it was advertised.) the only microwave available for use was in the makeshift lobby. (A tiny office space on the second floor barely big enough to fit more than 5 people.)
I understand you are renovating - bit it seems little consideration went into serving the guests you are still offering services to in the mean time.
3.6
Understand renovations going on, but room did not have a trashcan, nor hair dryer or ice bucket. Coffee machine there with coffee,no cups, sugar or creamer! Absolutely a beautiful room and air conditioning, was extremely clean. Very nice check in woman.

Find another website… Expedia was unhelpful, my protection plan didn’t protect me, and I couldn’t get a refund or assistance with my issue. I called the hotel staff directly. The manager, Dom, was extremely helpful even though I started off being rude after dealing with the incompetence of Expedia.
Word to the wise, the protection plan doesn’t protect anything, it’s a waste of money. My flight changed from 1700 arrival to 0100 the next day. I was meeting my kids who drove to the at the hotel to check them in, but because they are under 21 they cannot check in alone. I called Expedia to cancel the booking because my kids could not check in without me present. Expedia explained that this issue is not a good enough of a reason to use the protection plan. Having a 19 and 15 year old sitting at a hotel lobby by themselves until one in the morning isn’t enough for Expedia to help.
Thankfully the hotel staff was able to make some adjustments and help us out.
Don’t recommend using Expedia for your travel needs. Don’t buy the protection plan.

I booked the room and they did not tell me it was under construction. The restaurant and bar was closed. I was planning to have my family eat at the restaurant. We had to enter into some awful entrance that we could not find.
