Very basic room. The hotel room was a non-smoking room, but the cigarette smoke easily made its way in from the sidewalk/street below. Made me sick! Would not return to this place.

The staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed, even if it was probably because our dog is so great!

Did not expect a parking charge of $25 per night.

I was proposing to my girlfriend and the hotel was more than welcoming and wonderful!! I am so grateful for their hospitality!!

Check in was not a welcoming experience. We were not told that our room was in tower 2. We took the elevator to tower 1 which is directly across from the front desk. We were on 7 of 9-day vacation. We had lots of luggage and were tired. The attitude of the front desk staff did not set a good tone for the stay. The hotel room is SMALL. I cannot imagine staying for an extended stay with such a small room. We ate on site since there was no way that I would ask for access to my car to go outside the property. The waitress was nice. Check out was much better. The valet was nice and helpful.

Now I remember why... Ashworth by the Sea is an adequate hotel. The views are stunning when one has a balcony room overlooking the ocean and the rooms are nice. The issue that my family has with it is that Ashworth charges a premium price for the area, charging for valet parking in the off season, additional mandatory charge for their spa facilities when they seem to have just minimalistic facilities, while provided below average service for their guests. It wasn't an awful experience, just that there are plenty of other places that offer better values in this area.

It was very clean & would stay again. I would however like them to put wash clothes in the bathroom though.

the front desk people were super nice and helpful. the room unfortunately stunk like septic or something

First on impression is that the place is a little bit weather worn. Awnings have holes. Front desk was disjointed and did not give any information as to any of the services. The laminate floor in our room had not been mopped for weeks. After walking around our feet were black. Had to wear our socks. There were two TVs but the one in the bedroom did not have a remote control so could not be operating. No information in the room regarding services for the hotel or connecting restaurant. Location is great! Service was kind but just not informative. Parking should be included in the stay price.

My grandmother had a cottage around the corner and would tell us on summer trips that the “rich” people stay here. So we booked to relive memories. First room was tiny (164?) and the second (155) ocean front was better. Hotel had to replace the tv completely and the bed might be a king but felt small. Amenities ok. Hotel restaurants just ok. Nice service all around, but truthfully I would not book here again.

Many years ago, my grandmother who lived around the corner, said “this is where the rich people stay…” well, not so much now. The staff is lovely and the view with ocean view is nice. But truly it’s time to renovate completely. Small rooms and tiny balconies it just feels like 1970. As does most of Hampton Beach. It was my summer child home so I’ve seen the change.

I didn't realize there would be a "resort fee" plus a parking fee. At the end of September! Those things added $45.00 a night to my bill. Ugh. Wish I had gone to a chain hotel.

I have stayed at the Ashworth many times over the years. I booked my visit through Hotels.com. Upon check I was told very snarky by the female front desk clerk that I would have to pay additional 140 dollars for parking and resorts fees. She said if you had booked this directly with them I could have avoided all those charges, see was very short and rude. Not a Great Experience for a return customer for years. I won’t be staying there again.

I’ll start off by mentioning that I’m a Front Desk Manager at a campground and I have worked at hotels before in different departments. As soon as we walked in to check-in we could tell the property was having a staffing problem that night and Jerry was the only one working the front desk with a concert down the road that night so you know the hotel was packed. Jerry was incredible and professional the entire time we interacted with him from check in to leaving for the concert and even when we came back after the show and expected him to be off duty. Kudos to Jerry! We didn’t interact much with other staff members since we left the next day but we were satisfied with the service we received! Thanks for a fun stay!

The room was clean & average but there was a foul smell in the room that we couldn’t identify. It’s a great location but a $25/nite Valet Parking fee is automatically charged to the bill. Most upsetting was that the cafe & restaurant in the hotel were closed for 2 days for due to staffing problems! Other restaurants were closed for the season & only 2 restaurants were available. It would have been nice to have been notified prior to checkin!

The property was very close to shopping and the Seafood fest. across the Street from the beach. Very nice place to stay. Breakfast was disappointing but everything else was great. Strongly recommend.

Spacious double Queen with balcony and sea view. Staff super nice and friendly, especially housekeeper. Very convenient location in front of the beach. Garage (valet) and resort fees are a bit expensive.

This was my second stay at Ashworth, the last time about 15 years ago. I honestly think it was in better condition than the last time. They have obviously done some updating. From the service to the room, the valet so you don’t have to worry about parking ($25/night), to the walk ability to the boardwalk and all the action, everything was ideal. My only recommendation for improvement is that we stayed in a side unit which had a view of the ocean from our small balcony but just below us was the rooftop of the kitchen that was less than appealing. Maybe some sort of cover over that to give a slightly better view/atmosphere. Overall great experience, would definitely stay again.

Ron at the front desk was amazing as was Carl in housekeeping and Dave in maintenance. The gentlemen working the valet were very personable as well. We had a room on the third floor with an ocean view.
We did have an issue with our key cards not working and had to keep getting that issue fixed (it happened a number of times).
Also the building is badly in need of updating in the interior and
hopefully will receive some in the near future. It would also be nice if there were microwaves in the rooms instead of just the one in the lobby. The view was spectacular though and so were all of the employees that we encountered.

I really enjoyed the view and the sunrise in the morning. Thank you.

We love the hotel location, the views are great! We like that it is near the hustle and bustle but not right in it. The staff is so wonderful and the pool is very nice. Our only not amazing critque is that some of the rooms need some minor but obvious repairs. There was some moulding missing and a small hole in the bathroom wall that needed repaiting. Literally, everything else is perfect!

Sadly disappointed with the Ashworth by the Sea. We booked two rooms and both were dirty. The floors were covered in sand, we had to wear shoes the entire time. No shower curtain in our room. The towels are basically just wash clothes made of sand paper. The hallways smell like weed and cigarettes. I just felt dirty being there.

Room had a sandy floor, toilet did not flush, heard everything being said in the next room
I was told because I had to wait so long, my room was upgraded, not the case, same room I booked long time ago, not sure what the upgrade was
Will stay elsewhere

We stay here as often as possible year round! It is a beach hotel in NH, so taking that into consideration….. our family loves coming here! We will always stay here!!! Exemplary service from valet, to front desk, to sandbar, housekeeping….restaurant….. and the most friendly guests! They treat our kids like royalty! Always kind, considerate, integrity!!! Grateful for our entire family to have a place to feel comfortable at!!

I was an overall good stay and very convenient to beach and shops. The staff was great. Liked their restaurant and breakfast cafe. The gym was not really a gym. Valet parking and valets were great.
The negatives:
It was an old building so, bear that in mind. And the walls are paper thin and the added fees were a bit much.

We purchased two rooms with an ocean view and if you stretched, you could see a sliver of the ocean. Both rooms were tiny and one didn’t even have a place to hang your clothes.

Would prefer to have an earlier check in option; however, I think the late check out option causes the issue. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Facility and rooms were clean, although could use some updating. Location close and convenient to beach and boardwalk. Valet parking was easy, quick, and well worth it!
