Whoever rated this hotel as excellent was lying!! First off the smell was horrendous! It smelled like they were trying to cover up a marijuana smell! It was only 40 degrees out and they had hallway windows open. Our bathroom sink filled up with water, the floor mat was horribly stained and should not be put in a guest room. My daughter’s adjoining room’s bathroom sink had brown water coming from it, there was no hair dryer in either room, towels had a weird smell and were serious rough on the skin, door locks were not very secure, and to top it off they advertised a continental breakfast and didn’t even have coffee! Oh and hope you don’t have a ton of heavy luggage because there is not an elevator. Staff were nice but over I would not recommend this hotel! Additionally, when I booked it, I didn’t not realized that it was previously a Microtel that had just been purchased by Baymont. If I had I would not have booked due to a pretend experience with them!

The check in was horrible. I paid for the room ahead of time and when we got there they said there was a problem with our reservation. We had to contact Hotels.com which I did and they contacted the hotel and gave them a phone number for them to call to get it figured out. The guy at the front put the responsibility on me. I called and finally got through and got checked in 45 minutes after. Very poor management

The hotel was under construction / renovations so some things were a bit off. I have no idea what the breakfast would have been. The room was clean, had newer furnishings and such. The window had a piece on the sill so wondered how that would go, but weather was nice. People were mostly quiet and the bed was comfortable. Would stay again.

Hotel appeared to be in the midst of a remodel, so cutting it a break. Part of Rome looked redone and other parts were very old and outdated.
Bathroom clean and newer but missing toilet paper holder and sink clogged. The thermostat did not work and the filter looked like it hadn’t been changed in 10 years-disgusting. No clicker for the tv-asked front desk for new one and they couldn’t get one that worked. Was there only few hours and was cheap. Bedding and towels were clean.

We recently stayed at the facility for family weekend visiting our daughter at college. I understand the facility was undergoing a renovation but they were not ready to receive guest.
Our room was awkward and tight for two (2) queen beds. It included tight shelves, which I assume you put in place of a dresser, and no closet. The ironing board was tucked away leaning against the wall by the bed...I guess there was no where else to put it. The floor was dirty like mud was tracked across. The shower did not drain and we had to wait 10-12 minutes between showers to get clean. There were no hanging racks at all in the bathroom so things had to be draped over the shelving or the door. There wasn't even a toilet paper holder...really. When I book rooms I always check to ensure breakfast is included. Seeing that this place was under renovation I asked the front desk attendant if it would still be served...he said yes but it would not be a hot breakfast. We woke up at 7:00am and they told us they did not offer anything, sorry. They didn't even try to accommodate any away. There was no coffee pots in the room so we ended up spending more than anticipated. The vending machines were more than half empty (the soda machine was completely empty).

The hotel has a lot of construction going on and things are just makeshift at the moment

Hotel was under renovation. Couple things. No elevators from what I could tell. The rooms are numbered oddly. No refrigerator in the rooms. Noisy beds. Good location however.

We were taking our daughter up to college and reserved a double bed room to be told there were no more and they only have limited..exactly 4 rooms with double beds..seriously i reserved and paid for it..they were not accomdating at all. There attitude is this what we have take it or leave it..i ask will my rate gi down they said no..we checknother hotel and all booked since it waa move in for the college. my husband had to sleep.in the car because what they only had a available was a single bed for 4 of us. Mind you my husband is over 6ft tall. When we got to the room we ask for extra towels and pillows..nothing available..they said they had continental breakfast..to find out they are renovating..the shower had no soap dish..no refrigerator in the room..their ice machine is out of order...it was just horrible and the service even worse..the bed was hard and there waa several holes on the wall...i wouldn't come back here to even spent a night i rather sleep in the car with my husband.

Facility was under construction.
Hotels.com did not give prior notification of this condition.
No functioning ice machines, no continental breakfast as advertised but that is Hotels.com’s misdirection not the facilities.
Only some in-room appliances installed.

Room looked fairly new. No trash can in the bathroom, the bathroom door didn’t shut all the way, towels were very scratchy. Maybe some throw rugs on the floor very cold
3.0
The room was clean. Much of the hotel on the ground floor is undergoing renovation, including the breakfast area. That was the only big disappointment.

I rented 2 nights in Microtel Henrietta/Rochester Hotel in NY. When I arrived the place was under construction and I was not notified. The elevator was out of order, The stairwell was ripped out down to the boards (I almost tripped going up), The second floor was being remodeled. When I got to my room number, 200, I opened the door and the smell of strong fumes filled the room. There was spray paint on the bottom back of the door as well as spackle on the desk. Every time I turned on the water, it would be brown or yellow at first. I tried turning on the fan to see if maybe I could get some air movement to clear out the fumes and left the hotel for a few hours. When I got back, I was surprised to find that the smell was stronger somehow. Not knowing where to go or what to do I stayed there for the first night. I got zero sleep the entire time. I didn’t feel very well. The fumes caused me distress. I left for a few more hours and then came back to see if maybe I could get through it, but there was no way I reached out to someone local and ended up staying at their house that night. They came and picked me up and smelled it and saw it for themselves and we’re extremely uncomfortable for my safety and health to stay there. I went to the front desk to explain the situation and check out. They were quite rude and not really willing to work with me at all. Do not stay there! I should have left when I saw the lady and her two daughters at the front desk canceling their reservations

Good clean hotel. However it is cheaper for a reason . . . .currently under construction, and there was no fridge in the room!

The room was up to the standards I have known from previous stays. However, the hallways were being used for renovation. I don't see why a wing (1st and 2nd floor) couldn't be isolated for work while the rest was fully up and running.

Under renovation. Room was updated and clean. Hallways not so much

Run away. Be ashamed you lost this hotel. Would not recommend staying here if it was FREE. Construction debris, broken EVERYTHING, small poorly renovated rooms. Just pay more you cheap €%£+##%€ and get something else! You WILL regret your stay here. NO redeeming qualities.

It was so dirty and gross that we ended up going to a different hotel on the second night of our stay. Would have just packed up and gone the same night, but everywhere else was booked.
The entire building was dirty with exposed wires, and smelled extremely strongly of weed. The room also had exposed wires, the sheets had stains on them, the bed cover had dirt and burn marks on it. It was extremely noisy. I will never be coming back.

No one was at the front desk when we arrived. Huge security concerns! The building was very run down. Door to the stairway was covered with dirt from people's hands. There is no elevator, and it did not feel like there was air conditioning in the hallways. The young man who came to the front desk was very respectful and courteous. He showed us the room, which looked okay but the building and lax security were too worrying. We did not stay. The customer checking in behind us also chose not to stay there. There were workers renovating one wing of the hotel. MAYBE things will improve after the renovation is finished. Also, please be aware there is no elevator.

My overnight stay here was comfortable. The hotel is renovating the first floor so the hallways and outside landscape is full of construction debris and isn't very appealing. However the man who checked me in was pleasant and apologetic for the state of things. My room was freshly painted and the bed was comfortable which is all that I needed. The bathroom had a big shower with nice water pressure. The room was good but the rest of the hotel looked bad. I'm sure in a few months this will all be taken care of and the hotel will be much improved. I didn't eat breakfast there although a breakfast was offered.

Horrible parking lot check-in was okay staff limited English no elevator stairs were filthy my room was recently renovated but not finished electrical outlet exposed air conditioning didn't work when I turned on the water it was brown you could see out into the hallway through the door

The room itself was nice. There was construction all up and down the hallway. A little too noisy, at 8 am, but understandable. We had a nice stay.

Terrible appearance in the front entrance and bad smell too. No elevator to first floor. Receptionist is not friendly, on the phone talking to someone and talking to me in the same time. Breakfast wasn’t great at all. Overall a bad experience to avoid Microtel at all cost.

First is on a slow remodel, half of the stuff doesn’t work like: the ice machine, the juice machine on the break fast, etc… the staff looks that they are doing the best that they can. House keepers are a bad they will knock at your door before of your check out time. Overall is a good area but the hotel needs to improve a lot.

Sheets were not fresh. Towel had facial hair on them. Room smelled like cigarettes. Room was changed from the one the smelled like cigarettes. The second room sheets and linens were not fresh. No noise control or regulations. People played tv loud at 11 pm.

Terrible hotel. The first room they tried to give me I could see the bed was sunken in. When I sat on it I could feel every spring. The room was old and rundown and smelled. There was a red spot on the floor that appeared to be blood. I asked for another room and they gave me a better room but it was still under construction so there were electrical wires exposed, no refrigerator. There was construction equipment everywhere in the halls and on the property. The “breakfast” was cereal and coffee.
6.0
Breakfast was toast and decaf coffee. Not what i expected.
