Stayed for business. Location is amazing. Given the prime location, perhaps it's understandable the room was smaller. Gym is run by a third party and is so-so.

Wonderful stay in St. Gallen

Nice stylish hotel with "the good old service and interrior design" matching the price at a perfect location! Unfortunately the beds are too soft to our bodies liking so I'll have check if they have a choice in that offering for a next stay.

I would have liked to have seen clearer information about the spa and fitness centre closing times. Unfortunately by the time I checked in everything was closed. This was the main reason I chose the Einstein over different hotels. However, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Bed was not good

Beautiful city at less than 100km drive from Zurich airport!
Clean, modern! Food and service in the bar was excellent!!
Now for the negatives…
No doorman greeting and assistance with luggage from the car at the entrance!
Spa and fitness closes at 18:30 on Saturdays and Sundays!!!
Spa and fitness located at 5 min walk through a long basement tunnel and required two elevators to reach with minimal signage!!
Hotel restaurant is in another building across the street and requires coat in winter to reach!
None of the negatives were highlighted at check in….

Very nice, centrally located hotel with good infrastructure - including pool, great breakfast and bar (which has a smoking lounge).

Great location in the city center, and nice staff
We had 2 rooms, one in the old part of the building quite small, and one in the new aisle much bigger

Gréât service, good location and good facilities

Bathroom marble floor was cleaned but not rinsed: very dangerous. You do not expect 3 of 10 light bulbs not working. Reception very attentive.

great location, staff super friendly, rooms comfortable

Very nice stay, staff is incredibly friendly and proactive, they will handle your needs in a Swiss effective manner :-). Breakfast is also super ! Amenities are okay and structure is fine and comfortable .
Really recommend.
If I can give a tip for the management, the only thing is this smoke/cigarette bar @ lobby that keep this not attractive smell @ reception during night ... at least I’m not a fab

The word for this hotel is "pretentious"! Gold-plated door handles! But a room no bigger than the cheapest at Ibis and a bathroom so tiny that you need to squeeze past the door before you can shut it. No coffee service in the room. Minimal TV channel choices. No shuttle to the train station - they're happy to call a limousine for you. And breakfast an additional CH25.00 per day. Pleasant and helpful staff undercut by poor policies.
For the price charged this is just about the worst value I've encountered in many, many years of travel in Europe.

Amazing service. They made our lives so easy when we were going to the Alpstein Clinic. This is the only place I will stay in the area

The only hotel to stay at when visiting St Gallen! For business or pleasure, my first choice is the Einstein. I have stayed here every year for the last 10 years. Every stay, every year is exceptional!

Excellent compassionate night clerk who help me after suffering an accident at the train station.

Hotel is clean, friendly staff and good location. Rooms are dated and can do with some updating . Overall the hotel is good but not a real value for money

Stunning view from our hotel window. Great location, very quiet and everything else is in walking distance. Staff are very welcoming, helpful and polite. The room is clean and well maintained hotel. We had a lovely stay at Einstein Hotel. Definitely will come back again.

I stay at this hotel whenever I am in the region for business. It is a great location with the train from Zurich and motorway, and also great for those wishing to explore Appenzell district and Lake Konstance. The hotel is located just in the edge of the old town in the centre of St Gallen, so there are shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Be warned, On Sunday’s there are very few places open to eat in winter so plan your meals wisely. The rooms are simple, but always clean and comfortable. Some have been upgraded and are very comfortable and more modern. All the rooms I have stayed in are quiet and stocked with the necessary amenities. The hotel has onsite parking and a valet service. There is also a fitness centre, bar, bistro & gourmet restaurants as well as a large conference centre. The main reason I keep returning to this hotel, though, is the staff. They are are both professional and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay special. From receptionists, to night porters, housekeeping to bellman, they all go that extra mile that makes the biggest difference. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travellers.

Very lovely hotel. Walking distance to train station. Hotel staff was most helpful as we asked about local transportation. They printed schedules for us and made sure we understood the directions. Nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

A standard room without air conditioning in a 4-star hotel? Seems impossible, but it's true -- in the Einstein the economy rooms have no a/c whatsoever. I was just there on a normal summer day and the room temperature was 100 F. They offered me a fan. It caught up to the heat sometime after midnight. I've stayed in the Einstein many times before, but never in an economy room in the summer. I was just coming from Stuttgart where the fact our 3-star hotel only offered a/c from 4 pm - 11 pm seemed laughable. But the Einstein's standard rooms in summer are 1-star. Stay away.

Typical nice Swiss hotel with friendly yet very efficient staff, comfortable well appointed rooms and great central position in the city.

Hotel is in a nice location. 30 Swiss Francs per night for the parking. the hotel rooms are totally outdated, bathroom ( with shower only ) is nice. The hall ways are depressing...I understand that this is a historical hotel, but no charm in hotel room.
Very nice Spa area, but you need to go through the hotel lobby to get there.
