The hallway need carpets cleaned, halls don't smell very clean. The parking lot was awful, huge hole right out front. The kitchen floors in suites were not cleaned.
Nasty note stuffed under the door on the ground as I walked in...probably for the previous long-term guest. Just not what you want to read getting ready to stay the night. No breakfast, coffee was good though and real creamer was a plus.

The staff was helpful and friendly. I appreciated their help in fixing the coffee pot and providing coffee pods when asked. Since I was there less than a week, there was no cleaning or automatic replenishing of supplies.

Did not feel very safe staying at this property. Should have realized when pulling up. People up all hours of the night. Loud. Sink would not drain in the bathroom. Checked in key didn’t work when I made it to my room. Paper thin walls hearing everything. Booked two nights didn’t even stay the second. Refused to provide a refund. Highly recommend spending a little more to stay somewhere else.

Amazing customer service!

The place was nice enough definitely worth it for the price you pay. There was some things I noticed were slightly dirty and there was some type of stain or something on the side of the nightstand by the bed. The walls were thin we had people in the room next to us on the second night and we could hear them clear as day having conversations and we could hear their tv. Its was pretty disappointing when you’re trying to enjoy yourself in your own room. The silverware in the room was dirty and had something dried onto them so I had to wash them. The room had a musty smell to it at first but either way it was still decent enough I would go back.

There was a kitchen, with dirty cupboards. 4 day stay and had to ask for new towels. Mold on the threshold to the bathroom.
Convenient to freeway, shopping and food. Fairly quiet area with easy parking.

Reading reviews is very important to me because it has always helped me to choose the right place for my budget.
One thing to know about this hotel is that it is an extended stay for most. So it feels like a hotel with tenants. Dogs are also allowed, so keep that in mind because you may hear them barking on your floor. The front desk staff works hard. They seem short staffed, however they were all very kind and accommodating. They only do housekeeping once a week, so your room only gets cleaned before you arrive. If you need any clean linen you must take your old linen to the front desk for an exchange. ( not ok) however the linen was clean! ( ok) no trash pick up daily in your room, you must place it outside your door. The room was ok, comfortable bed. Small kitchenette (old) but usable. Bathroom clean , low pressure shower but water was hot. So overall you definitely get the low price for a reason. Now located around the property is plenty of foo, shopping etc… within walking distance so that made up for the hotel. Would I stay again?? Not sure, I would probably look elsewhere and pay the extra money. So with that review I could only give them 3 stars.

This was horrible!!! We left after 33 minutes. We couldn't adjust or adapt to the smell. And the tub was something out of a nightmare. The front desk guy was great but said he couldn't give us a refund and we would have to call Monday to talk to them about it. Hopefully they are upstanding enough to do that. We stayed here 5 years ago and it was AMAZING! So last night really broke our hearts..

Very nice property considering the low cost. Only complaint is there were only 3 pillows for two people. Most people need at least two. Laundry facilities are excellent but it would have been nice to have a breakfast or coffee bar. However there are multiple restaurants nearby

We were given a room with a broken refrigerator, but they were unable to repair it or change the room because they were out of technician or room at that time.

I spoke with multiple staff members during my stay and all were friendly and helpful. There are so many places to shop and eat nearby. They don’t serve food here but the vending machines have microwave food options and all of the vending was well priced and well stocked. The room had a comfortable bed and was well lit with many electrical outlets. I recommend this hotel.

Place was run down, unkept, smelled like urine in the stairwell, creepy people loitering, and looked condemned. Only good thing was location and close to solitude mountain.

Very nice room. Has kitchen, dishwasher, and full refrigerator. I thought I was in a small apartment. Only problem was it didn't have a ice machine on the property.

The kids in the room above us stomped around all night. Pets were allowed also so there was dog poop in the grass all around the property. It is convenient to shopping and getting around Salt Lake, but I would skip using their soap. The first night I was there, I took a shower using their products and that night I broke out in hives.

Parking lot was too small and parking ref’s not enforced. I tried to leave but my car was blocked in. At least 12 cars were parked in fire lane. Staff said there was nothing they could do.

Not the best experience for $130 a night -
Check in was at 3 and we arrived about 3:30 and our room still was not cleaned. It was almost 5pm by the time it was 'ready'.
When we got to the room we immediately we're not impressed with the cleanliness and could tell it was a very rushed cleaning. If we weren't tired from traveling and had the extra money for another last minute hotel we would have left.

Great location, easy freeway access, LOTS of shopping and restaurants, safe area . . The room was very clean and comfortable. No pool or spa, but it did have an exercise room, though I didn't use it. I would recommend it to friends.

Booked a Queen suite with pullout bed for four people. The pullout couch was a twin size, definitely not big enough for two people. The guy at the front desk insisted it was a double, and said they didn't have any roll outs or anything they could do for the fourth person on the reservation. There were people screaming in the halls at 2:00 in the morning. We got the sense that there were a lot of transient people that get sent here with vouchers. The hallways were very dirty and there were roaches crawling around the hallway. Overall a terrible experience. We couldn't get out of there soon enough.

Perfect clean room with plenty of space for three people since it had a sofa bed. Clean, plenty of towels. Friendly staff. Full sized fridge and kitchenette was a plus.

Big nice room, but some missing items, as hangers for clothes, hairdryer, knifes and forks. Care for the cleanliness of the property, for example the staircases. And there must be no deep holes in the asphalt of the parking lot! But very engaged stuff, that was a pleasure...

Love the lady who checked us in! And overall beautiful and clean and felt safe

The first room had an aroma of old microwaved food and roaches were immediately obvious in the kitchenette area, so I was transferred to a second room. The second room did not smell very clean, either. There were stains on the carpet and hair in the bathroom.
The hallway carpet was badly stained. The side exit/stairwell area was filthy for all three days I was there.
The parking lot is in poor condition. There was a very large pothole that was not even marked to warn dirvers away from it.
This is perhaps the 6th time I have stayed at this hotel and each time, the condition is noticeably worse. What a shame!

Alicia was amazing! She helped us check in. There was a fair amount of glass in the parking lot

It's a slightly older property but well maintained. Large room with a functional kitchenette. Great location. Amazingly welcoming and helpful gal at the front desk. Very affordable.

It’s a nice place to stay at. There’s restaurants walking distance away in addition to a Target. The downside to our visit was that the dishwasher was broken and there was no sponge or soap to clean dishes with.

Mainstay suites tome and time again impresses me no matter the city that I’m in. My fiancé and I stayed here for one night as part of a larger road trip. The location was very convenient and the room was in great condition. The Wi-Fi was pretty quick and the room felt more like an apartment. Everything from the oven, the stovetop, the work desk, and more had us wishing we had chosen to stay for longer. Great stop through with loads of amenities.

Mainstays, located in a very convenient part of Midvale/Cottonwood Heights, is a very pleasant little extended stay. The staff is very hospitable and the other guests were extremely friendly. I recommend this place for business travel, and if you need a slightly longer stay than the weekend. The price was also unbeatable, for what I could find in the area.
