Talia at the front desk was just delightful and so helpful during our check in. We were only there one night but it was a wonderful stay.

The Hotel is indeed Historic, but worn down.

Very nice decorations but bed mattress was worn and stiff. And though there was a thermostat I couldn't change the temperature in the room. The television was tiny.

Great hotel but when we were there the jacuzzi was not in service.
I get damn tired of amenities offered but not available!!!!!
I also get ticked off when staff says that there is nothing that they can do.

Very friendly reception on our arrival, originally we booked through a third party and the room was a bit small for us but the kind gentleman at reception upgraded us to a larger room and bed. The service in the saloon was excellent thank you for taking great care of us.

It's a beautiful historic western hotel. Lacking in some amenities, but that's not the point.

I enjoyed the historic hotel and you can’t beat the location. Not all the staff but some seemed indifferent or even bothered by having to engage with me. Hate to say it but that was a vibe I got from the entire town of Durango. Not rude but just no pleasantries. Either way a neat place to stay and the Diamond Belle was a fun experience. Staff there was very friendly.

Enjoyed going back in time staying in this historic hotel. Beautiful rooms and building. Easy to park. Good restaurant. In middle of town for excellent shopping and restaurants.

The elevator was tiny and stairs were steep and narrow. Breakfast was for tour groups only and it was not available for purchase. Staff were not friendly or helpful. The room and bathroom were small and the shower was tiny. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was very noisy.

We had a nice three night stay at the Strater. Be sure to ask about the hidden features in the lobby area. The staff members were friendly and helpful, especially Jericho at the front desk. The rooms do not have fridges but each floor has an ice machine. You can also sign up to use the hotel’s jacuzzi. The atmosphere and music make it a fun place to stay.

The checkin process was simple. That's where the good experience ended. The room we were given, Room 106, was located downstairs from the main floor, in rhe back of the hotel. The windows could not be opened either for light or fresh air, as they were located directly on a busy downtown sidewalk. The room was overcrowded with large furniture and, consequently, claustraphobic, stuffy, and uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was knee-level and there was standing water in the tub/shower. We had reserved 2 nights, but only stayed for 1, since it was so awful.

Historic property which is clean but needs new mattresses and pillows.

More of an experience to stay here verses comfort. It was fairly expensive compared to other hotels that offer more amenities. Beds were fair as far as comfort, bottled water is not available. Bathroom was small. It is a pretty hotel though and convenient location. I would recommend staying elsewhere and just visiting the lobby and the saloon.

Hotel was OK. I didn't like the thermostat was locked. Our room was cold. Parking is just OK. It's a long way to bring luggage from the back parking lot.

The reason we stayed at this hotel is because we wanted to experience time in the 1800s. There was a bag time pianist in the restaurant and bar. That was really good. Prices were reasonable, and we were offered complementary beverage. We were able to leave our vehicle in the parking lot while we took the Silverton train, and everything was within walking distance.
