We were disappointed to learn on check in that the hot tub was closed due to renovation. An offer of the use of the Hot Springs was given and we took the voucher. Hot springs were a 10 minute drive away. On arrival we were surprised to see it was closed (early due to a staff function). We headed down the very icy road back to the hotel. The television in our room wasn’t working. Someone came to look at it fairly quickly but was unable to get it working. We were moved to another room. Whilst we had some inconveniences the manager rectified the situation swiftly.

Good location and excellent restaurant on the premises. Main lobby bathroom was under renovations as well as hot tub.
Room was very hot and even when turning down heat was still hot, so not sure if thermostat worked

Great spot in the middle of Banff downtown. Close to everything.

Safety - The girl at front desk was nice and helpful, but when I checked in she loudly announced my room number while simultaneously holding up a paper with number written on it for anyone to see. There were men standing directly behind me and beside me at the time.
Crime against women who travel solo has reason and much due to incidents like this.
I simply hope the hotel educates employees on proper safety precautions.
Room - There was a large structural beam that covered all of my one and only window.

Check in was a breeze. Parking, like almost all parking in Banff is tough. The spots are small and vehicles are rarely small. The elevators were fast and the room was fantastic. The coffee shop and the restaurant were both fabulous. I will stay again for sure.

Very good stay. Hotel was in excellent condition and in an excellent location. Shirley at reception was very helpful. Limited head room in the parking garage (6'1") and our pick up truck was too tall. We were given a parking spot right behind the hotel - good location. Shirley also upgraded our room - moving from pet friendly first floor to room on second floor. Restaurant is very good although quite expensive

Our stay was wonderful. Squeaky clean room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, good amenities. The very best, however, was the service the concierge, Matthew, offered us. He personally helped to ameliorate the frustrating situation created when our bus service, Rider, abandoned us in a small mountain town with no transportation services during a snowstorm. Matthew so kindly reworked our reservation without taking advantage of our situation. When we did arrive in Banff, we had an easy check-in to a lovely and comfortable room.

After check in we went to go to the hot tub to find out it was closed since July. This was not communicated on the Hotels.com booking. 100% of the reason we pick a hotel is to use the hot tub for medical reasons. Had I known the hot tub was closed I would have stayed at a different hotel. The carpets are filthy, there was something smeared on the bathroom door and overall the rooms are rundown and need an update. Lobby area is very clean and updated

Location is good, service was good. Rooms are is tired and in need of updating and maintenance. Hottub being unavailable due to renno was disappointing.

Hotel is on a great location. Lovely room with a great view of Banff and the mountains, Nespresso machine and a fridge which were unexpected, wonderful shower.
Only downside were the trains passing nearby during the night blowing their horns but that wasn't the hotels fault.

The location of this hotel is perfect and the staff were incredible. It feels warm and cozy but still bustling and exciting. No issues with the room, cleanliness, functionality, or anything else. We will definitely be back.

When a room is white you can really notice the imperfections. Water stains on the roof, shoddy replacement of wallpaper on the stairs, etc.

Elk and Avenue is a nice hotel in downtown Banff. It is an easy walk to the shopping area and local restaurants. Public transportation is close by and indoor parking is easy and protected.

The hotel was perfectly nestled in the heart of Banff. Indoor parking included. The Farm and Fire restaurant in the hotel is delicious for dinner as well as breakfast. Room was beautiful with gogeous views of the mountains. Grocery and pharmacy across the street and walking distance to pretty much everything around. Amazing experience even though hot tub was closed for construction. Staff was curteous and very helpful.

At night, the noise from the air conditioning unit or the mechanical room was very loud. It was noticeable, and I found earplugs provided in the room, which suggests that the noise might be a known issue

We feel king room was assigned because of using third party. Other king rooms on end were much larger. Room was small and a poor layout with a column in space and medium size tv too long for wall it was on. Bathroom was clean and decent size and newer tile.

Very easy to go everywhere. But you can heard every door closing very strong at 6:30 am very noisy

Staff are very nice and helpful. Location is super convenient. It is just across street from the public transportation to the Gondola that you can use your Gondola booking ticket to ride free there. And there are some other routes as well. Many shopping and restaurants around the hotel. Its parking facility is the best for customers. Will stay again when visit back.

It was a pleasant stay in general. The only things missing are a breakfast and swimming pool and that is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5.

I really wanted to love my stay at the Elk Avenue and for the most part, it was wonderful with the exception of our room.
Parking was easy, the staff was very helpful throughout check in and even printed our park pass out for us and delivered it to our room.
The issue we had was with the air conditioner in our room. It was broken upon arrival, we were not notified as it seems they had found a fix. The solution to this was apparently to put a portable AC in our room which vented out the window. The issue is that in order to vent out the window, the window had to be open the entire time. The open portion was covered with clear plastic and foil taped in place. Our room did back up to some kind of machinery and a wall but I was still pretty hesitant to both stay and leave my belongings in the room. The hotel was booked throughout our stay so changing wasn’t an option.
