We came to celebrate my partner's 30th. We were told our room dated from the mid 1300s and it was pretty special. One slight issue with the shower enclosure door and extractor fan which were reported to reception. Dinner at the grill was nice, but certainly not £100 per head nice. We ate at a nearby pub on our second night and regret not doing so for our first. Not much to do in Broadway beyond a two night stay, so can't recommend staying longer than that. Spa and pool facilities were spacious, clean and relaxing, but to be honest I've seen better for the price. Make no mistake, this hotel is absolutely stooped in history and it feels special, especially in the middle of December! Overall I enjoyed our stay, but probably won't be rushing back.

Stunningly beautiful building and location, but the staff for the most part seem slightly grumpy and not as knowledgeable as I would have expected for a hotel of this caliber and cost. My main point of contention is that there is no priority for hotel guests in the common areas (which are the most beautiful parts of the hotel) we wanted to have a drink in the common area and were not able to get a table until the last night after complaining. For this price tag, there should be accommodations for hotel guests to sit somewhere at some point during their stay. Also before check in they send an email asking if you would like to make a dinner reservation in their restaurant but evidently they don't receive the replies since we arrived with no reservation and I was ping-ponged between the restaurant and the front desk staff to sort it out for myself.
All in all it is beautiful but the hotel could be run much better.

Lovely weekend in the Cotswolds staying at Lygon Arms. We stayed in a Cottage Room, which was very charming and quaint. The whole hotel is full of history and it's very charming. Staff were brilliant and friendly.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere was unbelievable, with history reeking from every corner. The staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. The food was outstanding. The village is a delight. It is truly a countryman’s pleasure

Highly recommend!

Our room was far too small for two adults.
Had to go up two steps to enter our bathroom, shower over bath a struggle too. Blind was broken in room, phone kept beeping, had to switch it off, tv remote didn’t work properly.
Bed wasn’t large enough length wise, for tall adults.
Grill was excellent as always, especially the breakfasts.
Cannot fault the staff though.

Beautiful 14th-century stone building, gorgeously updated. Very attentive and accommodating staff.

A truly fabulous hotel with super staff who couldn't do any more for you. Extremely dog friendly.
Excellent food.

The place is beautifully historic (very thin walls, everything creaks, no aircon ) full of charm and that includes the staff.
There was only a fabric blind in my room, which was open on arrival, lying on my bed for a nap I discover someone peering at me from across the courtyard, needless to say, the blind stayed down from then on, which made the room dark and claustrophobic!
I dined at the Grill where I was expecting a superb experience, the steak certainly was great, I switched out chips for mash, which was a mistake, instead of a fluffy cloud I got a solid mass of piped cement. This was accompanied by a small amount of watercress which for the overall price was underwhelming to say the least.
Breakfast was generally good, but when you wait 10-15 minutes for your meal, you don’t expect solid poached eggs which appear to have been pre- prepared several days ago, shame.
The pool area is lovely, I had a great swim, sadly the jacuzzi was blocked by the same loud 2 couples each morning, for at least 50 minutes which was excruciating, I think a polite sign requesting to consider other guests in terms of noise and duration might be required.
Overall I’ve always held this hotel in great esteem, but I feel this has been rather dented after this weekend, such a shame.

It was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything was first class, including the pool areas. The gardens were obviously cared for by skilled people. The breakfasts are fabulous. Mind you, it isn't cheap and I could not justify the cost of drinks at the bar. You get what you pay for, is the phrase that came to mind.

Property is great but definitely showing its age in the interior rooms and not in a quaint way. Climate change means they need to rethink the lack of air conditioning during the summer. Restaurant is amazing and we had a lovely time.

Beautiful hotel- incredible food, wonderful staff who really want out of their way for us

Our room overlooked the kitchen extractor fans so was very noisy. Gardens and grounds were tired and run down. Restaurant service was at best average and food also pretty average. Front desk staff were excellent

Perfect little night away and chance to explore nearby area. Lots to see and plenty of places to eat and drink.
Room was cosy, bit like a ships cabin but we only wanted a place to lay our head.

We found the billing structure, very confusing, leaving a deposit of £400, which was supposedly not taken from our account but was, and transactions taken from our account which shouldn’t have been and we’re told that they knew nothing off. We’ve been to the Lyon Arms three times now this is the first time we have actually had a problem with the billing issue which they were not really interested in discussing hence we will not be returning back to this hotel again. We will be choosing another hotel in Broadway which we do like.
Plus I think this time round the food wasn’t up to much Polk eggs were cold in the middle and my chicken curry. Oh if I had known better it came out of jar service I cannot fault it was unbelievable. Other staff were friendly and helpful.
