Enjoyed the array of activities! Beach was beautiful and fun. Kayaking, paddle boards available. Yoga, Zumba, beach volleyball, bingo by the pool, live entertainment, game room for the kids and dancing galore in the main hall as well as the disco! Friendly, welcoming staff!
8.0 / 10.0
I really enjoyed the staff for!the entertainment. The resort is well over due for an upgrade. My bathroom had a lot of mold in the shower but I took care of it with a little bleach. The free sailboating, snorkeling, And kayaking was fun. I didn't like when the people from the cruise ships came because it limited our dining. The bartender Freddy was awesome. He was very friendly and gave great service.

The property is in need of some updates. I would also recommend a bit more local dishes added to the daily menu and not recycle food

The resort was good, went for my husband Birthday and they was supposed to decorate the room and have cake for him,but they never did not anything thing, and this was the first hotel you had to pay to use the safe.the food in the restaurant was not that good, how ever the buffet food was really good .the entertainment every night was awesome.

I loved how green and very serene the place was, it made my stay twice more peaceful than I even expected.
Didn’t quite like how there was only one pool and you had to get in really before it turns into a party.
In general, it’s a beautiful place.

Good

The property is very large and did not have enough towels and servers to handle the number of guests on the property without long wait times. The food is subpar and bland but the drinks were great and the bartenders were the saving grace. The bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, it felt like concrete with zero spring or bounce. The bathroom was waaay too small (opening the door bumped into the shower and the toilet). The room was overall very uncomfortable and linens were old. The staff were friendly and did their best to entertain the guests.
6.0 / 10.0
The rooms was not very clean, shower was very dirty floor sandy, grout black and gross. No hot water. Door not properly locked, huge opening under the door. All living insects could easily walk through.

July 11th,2024 - 6 day stay with 4 adults & 3 children ages 10,14,& 16. We had a very enjoyable 45th anniversary vacation celebrating with our family. All inclusive dining & drinks were very convenient with at least 4 different venues.
There was a good variety of dishes to choose from. Overall the food was good. We visited the pool & beach bar, as well as the main activity area bar, often for tropical drinks. We enjoyed the pool & beach everyday. There was staff lead activities everyday for all ages if you chose to participate. Our routine was breakfast, then back & forth beach &/or pool, lunch at main cafeteria or beach/pool snack bar, back to beach &/or pool, head to room to clean up & head to dinner, take in live entertainment show around 9 to 9:30 each night, with music/dancing afterwards to round out the evening. This resort is very family fun & games oriented with daily activities available for all. The staff loves music & dancing where appropriate. One of the activities that the whole pool crowd could not get enough of was the pool pillow fights! It had everyone rolling in laughter! We sailed on 4 person catamarans along our beach area with the guidance of resort staff. We enjoyed a mid morning shuttle one of the days to Lucayan market for some local shopping & lunch. This resort is not a high end 4 or 5 start resort, but it’s clean, good service, good beach & pool, good food & drink all-inclusive & the staff’s intent is for you to enjoy & we did !

Nice sized resort in the Bahamas. Wife thought the food was week, but I think it was comparable to other all inclusive resorts I have stayed

I normally don’t write reviews but was compelled to do so with this resort. The main dining room had one too many flies around the uncovered food. That was super annoying. It was extremely hot, with no AC in any of the lounges. No cameras were near the rooms for safety. We didn’t appreciate the housekeeper only knocking on door one time then opened door even though we had locked the door. No bath towels were readily available for use. We had to wait at least 2 hours for towels. Most of the time, we had to use our beach towels because the regular towels provided were too rough on our skin. Overall, AC needs to be placed on dining areas including the Italian restaurant with enclosure. Stray cats were near us looking for food. Staff was friendly & food was mediocre. Lots of breakfast meals were cold & hard. Need to be mindful of the milk used for coffee, it was spoiled. Very little palm trees for shade. Pool & beach were ok. Entertainment was limited. Next time we book an all inclusive resort, it will definitely be adults ONLY.

My first room smelled like mildew the towels had to be replaced the water wa cold and the electricity kept going out once they moved me to a new room the shower was leaking onto the floor the food was horrible and so was the drinks
Flies swarmed around the buffet so we had to eat outside of the resort there really was no need for me to have all inclusive because I couldn’t eat any at the resort due to the conditions
Also Expedia put the wrong terminal on my flight ticket and I almost missed my flight from Fort Lauderdale I will never ever booked with you all or recommend anyone to

This hotel was an overall good stay. The beds are a tiny bit hard but not bad. The rooms are not the most updated but we’re totally fine. We weren’t in them much anyways. The a/c was amazing! The beach is amazing. Soft white sand, and there’s two small reefs that had more fish than some of the snorkeling excursions had! The food is probably my biggest complaint. It was just meh. You have access to a buffet breakfast lunch and dinner but it’s only open for specific times. I think it was 7-11, 12-2:30 and 5-10. So if you happen to come back from an excursion between those times you are out of luck. The beach snack bar is open in the between times but they only served hamburgers in warmer trays that were always covered with flies. There are 3 other restaurants for dinner options but unfortunately you have to reserve ahead of time on the app, and when I say ahead of time I mean like a week out. They are always consistently booked. We only got into 2 the whole time we were there. The Mexican food was ok. The viva gourmet was gross. Literally everything tasted old and stale. The food in the buffet was ok, but nothing great. Everything was just blah. And a HUGE lack in vegetables. By the end of the week I was dying to have some vegetables! The stores have hours but they don’t actually follow them. I needed to grab two more souvenirs before I left but even 45 min past opening they still weren’t open. The pools also close at 5pm! Absolutely insane when it doesn’t even get dark til 10.

Loved the property and talking to the people that worked there, they were all wonderful to me. I had a great vacation there.

It is a HORRIBLE hotel. The buffet food is served in an area without any air conditioning. It is extremely hot and almost impossible to eat there. The alcohol is of very poor quality, and the beer is served warm in small plastic cups, making it undrinkable. They don’t have bottled beer or any good liquor, even if you offer to pay for it. Nothing is available. They have a few restaurants, but it is very hard to get a reservation. I could not get a reservation at any of their restaurants, so I walked in since I saw plenty of empty tables available. I offered to pay for the food if they let me dine there, even though it is an all-inclusive hotel, and explained to them that it was too hot to eat at their buffet location. Plus, it was our anniversary, and we were looking forward to having a nice dinner. They refused and were very rude about it, not caring at all. Long story short, they ruined our wedding anniversary. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, I hope you read this review and change your mind.

The dinning staff was not to bad. The food was not great. Not much to do as a family at the resort. Not very kid friendly. Rooms were dirty. Cleaning Staff stole my mothers shoes, had to run after them to get them back. Would never recommend this olace ro anyone.

We had a good stay. The resort is nice. The food is good aside from a few little things. We did not have enough time to do all the activities since we were only there for a short time and the activities are scheduled at certain times. The wind was also very strong so the water wasn’t very clear but that was no one’s fault. The staff was very kind and fun. The rooms were average. Overall we would go back again. Looking forward to going with our kids next time as it’s a fun family place with all the activities.

Apart from the restaurants with reservations The quality of food has declined- same thing every day- bagels were full of mold they took them away of course but never replaced with fresh ones. Cut up fresh fruit was warm and no variation same every day- Nutella only offered in the morning would have liked to have it with fruit for lunch and evening.
My room the sliding glass door was extremely difficult to open And close - no one came to fix it

My friend and I had a wonderful time during our short stay at viva Fortuna. We thought we got a good value for our money. The activities and amenities were excellent. We enjoyed services at the spa, yoga by the pool, paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The beach is absolutely gorgeous!

Far from being a 5 star rated resort, it was maybe a 2.5, tops. In need of an urgent refurbishment

so the property was nice. the restaurant’s food was not good at all. the buffet food was good but the ladies had a nasty attitude and not welcoming. some of the staff were nice and some were very rude. the toilet barely flushed and the light in the room at night was not good. however i liked the place it was really nice and peaceful.

My phone broke and was never replaced after asking twice. Constantly had to go up to front desk. Service was incredible especially for the excursions. Staff at excisions was excellent! Food was bland and went out a lot to eat. Ask for rose Marie to drive you to some great restaurants outside the hotel.

The property and beach were gorgeous, staff were all very friendly. The room we had was pretty dated but the air conditioning was super cold, that isn’t something we always find on islands. Food wasn’t bad for a buffer, a decent variety. We will definitely be back in the future.

We did the all inclusive, and this included your food and alcoholic drinks. The food was horrible. We had to go out to eat at a restaurant every night off the property. The alcohol in the drinks was watered down completely. We also had to go to the liquor store and borrow own bottle of rum, we told the bartender that we bought our own bottle of rum that wasn’t watered down and they were like wow you’ve got the Good rum
The shows were amazing very good entertainment. The view was amazing. Beach was beautiful room was clean. OK my only complaint was the food and drinks.

For perspective on this review, I've stayed at roughly 20 all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
Family getaway for 4 adults May 16-19 2024. We chose this particular resort because of their on-site scuba facility (more on this later).
The resort itself is very nice. Property is a bit older, but well maintained and kept clean. Check in was easy. Rooms are small, but adequate for two guests. Large pool area that never felt too crowded. Beach is vast and STUNNING with plenty of chairs and palm trees for some shade. You can really spread out for your own spot. For us, the beach was the best area of the resort.
As for restaurants, there are a few reservation-only restaurants and the typical buffet restaurant. We did not eat at the reservation-only restaurants. The buffet restaurant was good. About what we've experienced at other all-inclusives. Good variety and they mix up the offerings from day-to-day. There is also a beach grill for burgers, dogs, etc. As for the bars, there are two main bars. Lobby bar and beach bar. Both were fine. No top shelf booze, but your typical tropical offerings. Our complaint with the bars was that they closed the beach bar about 15 minutes earlier than posted everyday.
As for the entertainment, I can't comment on that because we did not see much of that.
