Elegant, old world, comfortable and commodious. I’d love to move in.

Lovely stay thank you

Lovely Stay, very friendly staff.

We would very much recommend this hotel! It got a lot of charm and personality, and the location is sublime. Close enough to the city center and other important monuments, but far enough to not be impacted by the sound. But, the thing that made the stay really memorable was the night shift Marc! What a lovely and welcoming person that made our stay even better. Just for him we would recommend the hotel.

We had a very pleasant 7 day stay at the Royal Scots Club
Our room was in the annex which involved going down some quite steep steps but staff were very helpful with our cases. The room itself was warm, comfortable with plenty of storage and two armchairs. Tea and coffee facilities were topped up daily. The general lounge was a great place to relax after a busy day in Edinburgh. It’s also really close to a bus stop with regular buses to the city centre
The only criticism is the fact that the breakfast was always served too soon to the table and consequently was cold by the time we had finished our cereal

Our room was wonderful—huge open space with big windows and very high ceilings. The bedding was very cozy, and staff were helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the quiet and calm neighborhood in enchilada hotel was located. A couple of things could be improved: we would have appreciated better TV (more availability of channels). We also wished for a grab bar on the wall beside the tub. This old- fashion tubs with high sides are particularly dangerous for elderly people. Nevertheless we enthusiastically recommend the Royal Scots Club.

Great location and good rooms for a weekend stopover

Very enjoyable stay

Excellent location, wonderful hotel full of original features and history. The beds were very comfortable and staff were very friendly. The only downside was the room was a bit dusty, the baseboards needed cleaning so allergies flared up a bit. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

We were in a basement room

This property is close to all of downtown Edinburg.
4.5
Property was out dated and old.

Royal Scots Club was a fantastic place for us to stay. The large room and fully equipped amenities of the hotel made for an excellent stay! We would definitely return!

Room was wonderful, although navigating to it from the reception desk was interesting. The Queen’s Gardens are right across the street. Several eating locations near, but there is a breakfast and dinner option in the club. Loads of wonderful history in the building to read/admire.
4.5
Great location, lovely rooms and excellent value for money
4.5
Great location. Near everything but out of the tourist area

A great stay at The Royal Scott’s Club! Perfect location, wonderful staff and clean comfy rooms. just what I needed for a perfect stay in Edinburgh!
4.5
When originally booking, I selected a room with a king bed and ended up with a double bed. The room was much smaller than expected. Especially after reviewing photos of the rooms. Otherwise all was lovely.
4.5
Great location, quiet and lovely. Clean and comfortable bed and linens. Would recommend

The ambiance of the club is enjoyable and it is well situated for easy walking to city centre. The historical references within the club are very interesting. We stayed in the annex and the main building and definitely preferred the main building. All staff were pleasant and helpful.
4.5
Wifi in the rooms is terrible.
Staff is absolutely wonderful.
Rooms are nice. Service is very good.
4.5
Nice hotel that was located in New Town. The hotel was located a few blocks from Rose Street and a reasonable walk from the Royal Mile. The rooms were a little on the small size but about average for a European hotel. We would definitely stay again.
4.5
The service and staff was amazing. The front desk staff helped us with getting a taxi at 3:30am. We also had dinner at the hotel the last night and it was spectacular
4.5
Great location within walking distance of all the sights. We had two large rooms on the second floor, with high ceilings and views to a park in front or quiet square behind. Would definitely recommend.
4.5
a nice place to stay

Unique well appointed

Was just so quaint and pretty!

Great stay and beautiful room . Everyone so helpful except for Hannah on reception . She had no customer service and was very abrupt when asked any questions .

Difficult to get anything to eat. We got in late and everything around was closed,.

My twin room as a solo traveler was way down in the basement and the staff kept leaving cleaning supplies around the door, were talking and blocking my door, generally disrespected it was a guest space. Felt like I was shoved in the servants quarters. However the bathroom was nice and the breakfast was good, location was interesting. Would not repeat my stay there.
4.5
Very disappointed with the accommodations- picture shows a lovey historic building however the rooms are below ground- very small and dingy. Very expensive for what we experienced
Rooms were serviced however teas were not replenished
Staff were cold and did not inquire about the quality of our stay
The apartments were also disconnected from the actual club so no easy to access
Overall too expensive for the accommodations, lack of amenities and poor service

Classic historic hotel in New Town, Edinburgh. Small, but great atmosphere and restaurant. Good food and fabulous breakfast.
4.5
Nice location; convenient. Away from the main drag but close enough to almost anywhere I wanted to go to. Across the street from gorgeous gardens. My room was in the basement, though it had much light and was spacious. Great shower. The place also has almost and Old World members club vibe to it. There is a comfortable sitting room for guests.
4.5
Easy walk to st Andrew’s square. They give bathroom slippers :). Staff is very friendly
4.5
Excellent staff, good location, many restaurant options, but the hotel does not have air conditioning

My wife and I have been to Edinburgh several times, and this was the best stay we've had. No complaints, and will be our preferred stay next time.

Great property and beautiful room with a great tub!!!

So comfortable and cozy , love the bathroom

Stayed overnight for business, nice hotel and in good location. Room was on the lower floor, had everything I needed but I just felt a little underwhelmed. This hotel gets a really good rating but I felt it was slightly underneath. I would stay here again however, might try a room higher up instead.
4.5
Staff are always fantastic! Great location, clean and very quiet, we will be back for sure!
Thank you!
