Good hotel near center. Frendly workers

Hotel is in a fantastic location across from the playhouse and st james quarter.
Check in was speedy, we had a room on basement level. The room was spotless. Comfortable bed. Amenties in the room as youd expect
Iron/iron board
Hairdryer
Full length mirror
Tea/coffee/biscuits etc
Soap/shampoo/conditioner
Only minor things i personally would want included in the room but would not deter me from staying again, would be a mirror on the wall where the desk is.
We had a couple of drinks at the bar, drinks were reasonably priced abd delicious. Only minor complaint is that the chairs are not overly comfortable, you couldnt sit for any great length of time.
Given where the hotel is located and our room was street side (025), there was quite a bit of noise, i would suggest booking a room away from street side. I did eventually get a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was simple but tasty, small selection of :
Bacon
Sausages
Scrambled eggs
Hash browns (were mushy/soft, not crunchy as they should be)
Beans
Toast
Muffins
Pastries
Tea/coffee
Orange/apple juice
All in all, would recommend staying here.

Great location for Theatre, airport tram and shops. Just a short walk to old town and the castle. Buffet breakfast had good choice and nice hot food.

Staff so friendly
4.3
Room was a bit dated and stuffy but very comfy bed and pillows
Great location
Good breakfast but coffee not good at all
4.3
Standard hotel. We arrived late after 24 hours of traveling and barely had 5 hours here. It was fine. Breakfast was pretty nice, tasty & nice selection.

Only stayed at the hotel for one night, but everything about it was good although there very little parking at the hotel, front desk to gave me a discount code for Omni parking, which is across the street. We had two twin beds, which were very comfortable and a very clean room. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Lots of varieties to choose from! Front desk staff were extremely helpful in providing maps of the area

The staff were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble

Overall, very nice and served the purpose for our stay! Would stay here again. Breakfast options, a tad limited but that’s okay. We did have an issue of our key card being taken out that would operate the AC/heat and then them taking the card so we would have to go to reception and ask for a new one. Other than that, a great stay.

This property was a disaster. They gave us the room in a basement right in front of 2nd level underground parking . Room was claustrophobic, beds were literally a cot not hygiene and very unsafe for kids . It was so stinky .
4.3
Everything was wonderful!! The room, location, staff and breakfast!! Would definitely stay here again.
4.3
It was very close to the old town, very convenient location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok.
4.3
The noise isolation is super bad. If you live away from the hallway doors, it may be better, but if you live close to the doors, good luck. If you live on the ground floor, cold and wet.
4.3
The rooms are a little bit dated but the property is in a convenient location

Hotel is in a great location, lots to do within walking distance.

Nice

The location is very good for walking around the tourist areas and is convenient to public transportation. We had a room for a family of four and were put on the lowest floor which was partially below ground. The room itself was clean but small and felt a little like being in a basement apartment. Also, the shower had a flexible head on an adjustable mount. It either was old or incorrectly installed as it would rotate and move off the mount on the water turned on which is very annoying.

Great stay! Well located.

Walking distance from city center with luggage.

It being in the city centre and convenient to get to attractions.

Excellent stay

The property was great the only issue I have is the morning breakfast ended earlier than to time posted. The food should be readily available until the time posted. They clear out too early felt rushed. Otherwise great spot would return and recommend. The bar was nice but the bartender wouldn’t make mixed drinks or cocktails. Which I thought was strange. Why have a bar if the bartender won’t make a drink.
4.3
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Most interesting areas of Edinburgh were in walking distance and there were a lot of food options close by as well as a large shopping centre within 5 minute walk.
The rooms were however a little small for a family of 4 with luggage. It would be perfect for 2 people l.

Good location and friendly staff

Good value for money, lovely staff and nice breakfast. Right in the city center, great location.

Couldn't find my reservation at reception at first, which caused undue stress and left waiting. Eventually found, but I was made to feel it was my mistake (asked if I had booked under another name, which I had not).
4.3
Great location. Staff excellent. Breakfast good. Room perfect. Only issue is when you have big suitcases - up from the street in six or so steps and then Forman steps to the room.

Location

Rooms at Holiday Inns are always comfortable and well thought out. Accommodation in Edinburgh is at a premium and always on the higher $ level, and this was no exception. There was no dinner restaurant at the Hotel but there was a range of eateries close by. Hotel was within walking distance of Princes Street and Royal Mile. Parking in Edinburgh in general is a nightmare. Managed to park over the road at Omni Centre, but did so before finding out the hotel guests get a discount and we were unable to use the discount code because we were already parked.
4.3
Lots of stairs to navigate to get to your room. Avoid if you have lots of luggage.
4.3
Staff was great, good breakfast and quiet rooms.

Great!

Perfect location and the tram stop is on the doorstep. Nice quiet modern hotel. Breakfast was in a small crammed room and closed earlier than advertised when juices and foods removed early. Had booked for 4 adults in one room and complained to staff not 2 double beds but 1 pull out sofa and a bed. Sofa bed was small uncomfortable noisy and infested with FLEAS! Have photographic evidence of fresh inflamed flea bites on the legs and bodies of the 2 people sleeping on the sofa bed. Informed staff but ignored and told impossible. Ruined stay sadly.
4.3
The location is spectacular! Close to everything and the Trans dropped us right in front of the Hotel! It was very convenient
4.3
The hotel was in a great location. Clean tidy and friendly
4.3
Right in the middle of the city, very convenient to sightseeing and limited dining. Toilet didn’t flush properly. A lot of water and not much flushing. The carpet was filthy. It was not enough space for four people. Uncomfortable couch bed. Next to no storage. Decent breakfast buffet. Bar open late and reasonable prices. Air conditioning and fan were very poor. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.
4.3
The hotel itself was standard and the room we had was clean. The staff were pleasant. The breakfast included was a decent spread of hot and cold options. Limited space for dining, so try and get there early to beat the rush. I chose this hotel because it seemed to be roughly 15-20 minutes walking from the major attractions. It is, but Edinburgh is a city on a hill. This hotel seemed uphill from the palace, but downhill from the majority of the Royal Mile and the castle. It's not that bad, and we had small children, but something to consider for your travel plans. (Start uphill and work your way down.). We were pleased to have stayed here and would consider it again if we revisit.
