Family holiday and enjoyed location with good cycle routes. Room was good size for 2 adults and 2 children. Pool ok size but can see why some reviews say not big enough and can be difficult to get a seat if arriving later in day. Staff super friendly and breakfast great choice.
Only real negative is we hired out bikes 4-5 times and every time there was an issue - locks not working, child seat missing, chain had come off and would recommend they are checked more regularly.

This is a beautiful, very quiet spot. Pricey on the food etc but you never have to leave if you don’t want to. Book your massage ahead of time-they are full. But great pool/sauna etc. you can watch the tide come in and out and the staff are very helpful, friendly and happy to help with my lousy French.

Every member staff were super welcoming and helpful, especially Bastian who happily sorted our transfers for us. The facilities were excellent and the general environment displayed at the hotel was incredibly relaxing, exactly what my wife and I were after. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and stay again.

Nothing to dislike here. Quiet, beautiful. Good food, lovely spa areas sre spacious & cl an. Best bit probably the outdoor salt water pool. Tranquility perdonified.

Hotel was lovely and location fab. We enjoyed using the spa everyday and felt very relaxed.

Beautiful location and wonderful staff. There should be food service all day on Sunday at both the hotel and spa.

Stunning hotel in a great location with a superb spa! Super decor with attention to detail.

The whole place was very tired and scruffy, the communal areas smelt of body odour especially the corridors. Their was no usable beach as it’s all rocks and the pool area was too small for the number of guests, we couldn’t get a lounger. We stayed in the suite and it was tatty, stains on the furniture and walls. It was a lot of money but really wasn’t worth it.

The WiFi was very poor strength, the pool too small for the number of people staying there

Stunning property with helpful staff. A dreamy escape. Only suggestions would be to have water available for self serve 24hours and food available at all hours of each day since the location is secluded.

Great stay. Staff went out of there way to take care of us. Even when the restaurant was closed we were able to get room service on the patio.

Very nice hotel, spa, pool, excellent restaurant, very good live music, very friendly and accommodating staff. Expensive in August, worth booking in advance with spa treatments included for better deals.

Situated in a quiet spot on the island we found this to be an excellent hotel. Our renovated room had its own terrace on the ground floor looking out to the sea. Rooms on the second floor will have a better view due to the sand bank directly in front of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful place located in a great spot. The beach in front is not for swimming but the view and the area is worth the stay. You are only a few minutes away from everything but a car is a good idea to have. The staff is SUUUPER nice and the brunch although a bit pricey has very good options.

Gorgeous hotel in île De Ré! The staff was so helpful with speaking English. They made a dinner reservation for us which was super helpful. I would recommend this place to everyone :)

The staff were nice but that was the only good thing about the hotel unfortunately

The hotel is in a beautiful location on the island of Il de Re. It is in the beach and also conveniently located on the cycle routes that go all round the island.
The spa facilities are excellent and the pool area is very calm and relaxing. The rooms are simple and clean and most have a balcony or veranda, although ours didn't. Breakfast was good, although at €20 quite expensive for what was on offer.
We ate in the restaurant one night - the food was excellent, but it was extremely off putting to have the waiting staff setting up for breakfast before we had even finished out main course.

Room was very odd and although been refurbished, AC didn’t work and room was small for the price. Long walk to the spa/pool with very early closing times. Again this was a very old facility.

Very well located, good stuff, friendly service, but, for a four stars hotel, the quality of decoration is very poor in the room and the cleaning team is not solid.

Nice location but hotel not as nice as pictures suggest and service weak.

The place is very nice and staff very friendly. Too bad the swimming pool closes early and even more on Sunday.
The room was big and confortable, the view to the vineyards is actually a view to the parking lot which is very deceiving.

Nice hotel close to the beach, on its own. Some areas on, the island, had a lot of caravan and campsites near to the hotels. The remoteness did mean that it was difficult to go out for dinner in the evening unless you had a car.But the hotel food was excellent. Early booking required for reservation if you dont like eating late!Hotel bikes were good quality to hire. Spa was an added bonus for us but changing rooms very much in need of refurbishment. Outside area and salt water pool very nice.

Enjoyed stay though little view of the sea from our Premium Ocean View on ground floor. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room comfortable though a better standard of pillow would be good. However there is the need to refresh the hotel as it is showing signs of neglect e.g. paint peeling.

No fridge or mini bar. No aircon. Have to pay to use the pool. Stained carpet in room. No shuttle facilities despite somewhat remote location. Restaurant, however, pretty good. No in-room coffee machine - Just a kettle, sachets and no milk/creamer. In - room toiletries were not as advertised in the brouchire but a cheaper replacement brand.

It was excellent, friendly greeting good room and facilities

Pool area missing out on a lot of potential. Needs more lounge area and chairs. Also, guests who want to use the pool during midday must go all the way to the next property and come back through a tunnel sonce all on site gates and doors are locked and unattended. Very very strange, and inconvenient since the beach is not good. At low tide, the basin is almost unwalkable with thick black mud and sharp rocks.Restaurant food is very good but hours of operation extremely limited--feels like cruise ship seating hours and reservations required always. Drinks selection for kids very limited.

Hotel rooms great - v spacious and nicely decorated. Hotel staff great - v friendly and helpful but beach not at all like photos - lots of seaweed and rocks - not at all child friendly and also loads of flies - and difficult to access from hotel.Pool was pretty but v small...

The hotel sits next to remote beaches, with walks and cycle tracks to the nearby village. Its a couple of storeys high and was extremely quiet when we visited in October, though given the number of rooms and balconies would be quite busy in season. Small lounge area at reception and excellent food in the restaurant, if a little pricey. Complementary access to the spa, which was excellent, with outdoor terrace and pool leading to the beach. Rooms large but not especially well furnished - but great bathroom. Excellent, quiet stay, with fantastic food in the restaurant.

Loved Ile de Re. Hotel had great service but first room was not in good condition. We were able to change to a different room the second night.

So I got off the Ferry in Caen and took the toll roads towards La Rochelle... until I was going the wrong way... twice. In the end, it was almost midnight when we arrived, but this was no problem for the night-porter. The politeness and ease with which we checked in at this unsociable hour was a started for our week in Sainte-Marie-de-Re. The staff were, on the whole, friendly and helpful (this was always the case for the ladies on reception). Beyond the reception staff, English was occasionally unspoken by other staff, leading to awkward conversations through mime in the restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable and looked out over a vineyard. The beach was only 15 seconds out of the reception and the spa (which I suspect is the reason many people stay here) is just down the beach a little. The advertised pool is a seawater pool, though there is a sauna and steam room as well, free to hotel guests. The local village is close-by, though for most things you'll probably want to go to La Flotte or Sainte-Martin-de-Re, which are both accessible by car or bike.

A great place if you want to stay in Ile-de-Re, but don't want to be bothered with the crowds. The hotel is located outside of Saint-Martin-de-Re, which seems to be the sleepiest of the island's main villages. Atalante is itself right on the beach and if you have an ocean facing room then it is like having your own coastline. The staff are friendly, if not overly eager to serve, and if you want a bike be sure to get it early; they are strictly first come, first serve. The rooms are modern and beachy, without running into kitchsy. They're also clean and the beds are very comfortable. The guests tend to be nice salubrious people from France and Spain (at least for our visit) as well, so you won't have to contend with undesirables.

The staff on reception could not have been more helpful.
They went out of their way to help us, even coming to pick us up when we were stranded and couldn't get a taxi. They organised food even though the restaurant was closed. They were a shining example of excellent hotel service.
The meal in the restaurant was superb and the beds the most comfy ever. A wonderful relaxing holiday. Our only gripe was the spa staff didn't really make the procedures very clear but this may have been partly a language thing. An English translation or time learning from hotel staff may help.

A very relaxing experience awaits the visitor to this hotel. Situated at the sea and with a lovely sea water heated indoor pool, this is a very good hotel. The treatments available at the Thalasso are very nice especially the massages on offer. Food was very good especially the breakfasts. Dinner was good but a little expensive but the waiter service was slow.
