The staff were very friendly in reception and bar.The room was very clean with an excellent bed. The bathroom had a great shower.
We were suffering a three day power cut after the storm so it was so nice to book into a lovely warm Inn and shower and relax. The food was also very good and reasonably priced

Hotel tired & in need of refurbishment in my opinion.
Room was so stiflingly hot we had to sleep with ground floor windows & front door open on safety chain. The bed was also pretty uncomfortable.
Evening meal was OK to be fair but breakfast was very poor; my wife's scrambled eggs were poorly cooked & my avocado was pre-made, unpalatable & wet so made the sourdough soggy.

Staff were excellent.

food was good, plenty of free parking, nice clean rooms, pleasant staff. The bed was not very comfortable was the only downside. Happy to stay again.

I like the location,
The courtyard rooms suit me perfectly, ample parking.
Only complaint was the noise from heating system/fans.
But was just the unlikely room.

Overall the stay was very good. Service at reception and in restaurant was extremely good. Slight problem with the availability of some wines we like.

Nice little find, great food, friendly staff and nice and quiet, definitely will return next time in the area

There was no tab to put on the door so cleaners will not come in and later in the evening I asked the staff at reception and she said that she will put a note for the cleaners, but the next day in the evening when I arrived I can tell that the cleaner was came in.

A surprisingly good Inn, on the outskirts of Barnstaple. Good value for money, comfortable clean, quiet bedrooms. Friendly and helpful staff and tasty food. I'll be back.

My one night stay was a good experience. The staff were very friendly. My room was very spacious with a huge bed. Breakfast was good. My only complaint is that the bath is super slippery when having a shower. I know there is a grab handle but I almost dare not let go of it. I put the bath mat in the bath in the end which solved the problem. I usually take my own shower mat with me but forgot on this occasion, I will remember it next time. Other than that one point my stay was very comfortable. Thank you.

Great stay as usual. Unfortunately breakfast cost was £12.50 (company allowance £12.00) so had they not had a 20% off promotion, I would have had to find breakfast elsewhere. Such friendly staff at this inn.

Great room, great breakfast, lovely staff at breakfast. Very happy, will be back.

It was a lovely comfy room, easy to get to from the car park. Lovely and clean ensuite. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to help find meals that didn't contain my unusual allergies, and the food was absolutely lovely for dinner.
Breakfast was a nice relaxed meal, although some patrons seemed to expect silver service and for their cooked breakfast to arrive in less time than it might take to prepare at home! It just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time. All the staff were polite and appropriately friendly as well as approachable. It was a lovely stay, and I would recommend this quiet place for solo travellers like me, or couples. Such a lovely stay.

Stayed here before. I’m pretty sure I booked a double room however I walked into a twin room! After a long day I couldn’t be bothered to ask for a change, I’m glad because I slept really well, the room was warm and the bed really good. One criticism is the soundproofing is quite bad as I could hear a conversation next door. Overall pretty good and wound stay again. Didn’t eat food this time as I didn’t have any energy to be bothered!!

A good central place to stay, this was our third short stay in 12 months.
Good food, good service, friendly staff. My only critisim is that the rooms are beginning to look a little tired. Having said that, an ideal place for a short stay.

Great staff, restaurant, only complaint was a cracked washhand basin and water ran out over your feet. Housekeeping knew so really the room shouldn’t have been let

as we had booked the top room i was cross that noisy live( and awful) entertainment was on the night before we were flying home to Greece in the room almost below ours!! If we'd been told about that we wouldn't have booked that room. The coffee at breakfast was truly cheap and terrible even when a fresh pot was made.Staff are all lovely and very helpful.

This was definitely a step up from the standard Green King options. I think I may have been upgraded, as it was laid out as a suite with sofa area. The bed and room were very comfy and the bathroom was equally spacious. My room was away from the main building, but only a very short walk in the rain, and mostly covered. This had the benefit of cutting out any small risk of noise. The food was very nice, and a superior selection of drinks as well. Overall recommended, even if it is a little out of Barnstaple itself (which suited my needs)

The building needs a little TLC and a clean up. The mattress was far too soft, hubby and I both sunk into the mattress which made us roll towards each other or away and onto the floor.

I will go back definitely.

‘’Old, somewhat tired and out of the way. Look out for the low ceilings in the middle of the night. This was probably a special place once, but not so much now.

Whilst we only stayed one night, the staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. All requests were met and our room was spacious and very comfortable. The food was fresh, local, beautifully cooked and delicious. The steak and ale pie was so big that it defeated me!!! We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks to everyone.

Room was damp and stuffy with no ventilation. I contacted them directly about this after my visit but no one bothered to get back to me.
