Hotel is mostly fine. The room is ok but the bathrooms are uncomfortable. The hotel has a museum attached to it that it’s truly interesting. The restaurant I s fine and breakfast is good. Our last night they apparently planned some repairs in the room above use so at 2 in the morning we had enough and had to get dress and go to the lobby to complain, few minutes latter they stopped the work.

Wow! We had a fantastic time at the Santa Cruz Plaza hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely attentive and helpful. The property is beautiful, restaurant delicious, and it’s very conveniently located. Parking was easy and secure, too. A big thanks to the hotel staff for going above-and-beyond. Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel

The Plaza is a gem in the wine country. It is old but well maintained. The architecture is interesting and features many items like bas relief sculpture and stained glass. We had a comfortable room facing an inner courtyard which was quiet. Outside rooms on the plaza might have a lot of traffic noise.
The grounds are beautiful, with a small stream running through the property. The restaurant opens onto a pleasant, tree shaded outside courtyard by the outdoor pool. The is an indoor pool and spa but we did not visit.
We had good lunch on the day we arrived. We went to breakfast each morning and found very mixed results, ranging from a great omelette bar on the weekend to weekday buffet that featured cold, hard bacon and lukewarm, mostly liquid scrambled eggs. The service was attentive and friendly, however.
The concierge, Pablo, was fantastic. We had a great time chatting with him and getting laughs for our weak attempts at Spanish (we are English speakers, and found most of the staff could handle this well). He helped us plan excursions into the wine country, recommended great places to eat, and gave advice on the best way to drive to Vińa del Mar (our next stop).
The hotel is next to a museum and a casino. We spent several hours enjoying the museum, but did not check out the casino. Maybe next time.

a very pleasant stay with very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. if you come by car on a busy weekend, you may have trouble in parking inside and will need valet parking to park the car at a secure outside facility from the same hotel. to get it next morning may take a while.

We normally stay at VIP hotel as they treat you special. We do not mind spending a little more. Room was not upgraded. In fact it was probably one of the worst rooms in the hotel as we looked out to white wall. With all the great balconies they have this is how they treat VIP’s. Will not return here

This is a great hotel. Far exceeded our expectations. Service was excellent and the property itself was beautiful. Felt spoiled the entire time. Highly recommend.

Hotel Santa Cruz has a lot of PROs and a few CONs. I’m an American who travels frequently to other countries and use reviews as a guide. will be very honest with my observations.
PROs = property is very nice with resort feel in the quaint city of Santa Cruz. Location was perfect! grounds beautiful and our room was spacious with nice view from 4th floor to the square. Security guarded with a lot to do on property. Ate there twice, both great. BBQ dinner was fantastic. good experience with concierge and restaurant staff. Santa Cruz is safe, easy to walk.
CONS = floor/carpet in our room was very dirty. Glad they gave slippers, carper needs a good cleaning. disappointing hotel tour assistance (RoutaTours) and manager we spoke to about a RoutaTours issue not good. We didn’t find all front desk staff to be friendly. My husband speaks fluent Spanish, so it was not a translation issue, more a hospitality issue. RoutaTours took $80 from us and said we were “out of luck” when the wine tour they did not honor one of the tours when we ubered to the location. Hotel did not refund or reschedule. Thier response was that the winery took the money paid and won’t refund back. Manager said there was nothing she could do. Concierge was helpful telling us where to go on our own so we could avoid booking tours from hotel after that.
There are a lot of children and families. If you don’t want children running around, playing in pool, screeching, etc., you might want to go elsewhere.

the hotel is well located, close to shops and visits to the vineyards. It is spacious, comfortable, with lots of vegetation. The attention is very good for its kindness and good disposition. It has different spaces where to eat or dine that makes the stay very pleasant.
Although the hotel is in good condition, the rooms showed deteriorated paint, and details in general such as the shower was loose, clothes hanger in the bathroom does not work. the nightstands and cushions already show deterioration due to age. the cushions on the pool chairs were dirty.
On the other hand, the benefits of VIP ACCESS I did not obtain.

Its the best hotel in town, they say ,and I booked 4 roooms. Its got great features and very convenient. Valete parking but it lets its self down. I advised that room 407 the air con did not work on arrival. We went out . On returning they said it was fixed . That was a lie. Next day i reminded that the air con did not work . Retuned in the evening. It still did not work . They advised that they could not get engineers. They said they would move us to anothervroom, and someone would come for the luggage. No one did. We did it our selves in the end.
I requested to speak to the managers. Seems he is not available for clients, or there scared and they dont want you to see him.
If you don't speak spanish its also difficult.
For me disappointing. For the rest of the family it was nice. With lots of features

The place is OK, but our experience wasn't great. First, when we got there the fridge was leaking, the floor wet, right after we realized it we call reception and there were supposed to fix it while we went out for a while. We got back later and everything was exactly the same. the day after we were able to exchange rooms, to andother building, wasting some time on moving everything around, would have been nice if they gave us a room in the same building in order to move faster and easier.
The parking system is full so you have valet parking taking the car to another location, so in order to get your car you need to call at least 20-30 minutes before. We did taht but anyways we had misunderstanding, since we asked where our car will be delivered and they told us the wrong place, waiting more than 20 minutes autside the building, when it was inside, if I did not asked, we would have waited even longer...
There seem to be a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding, since we were not able to get always the certain information we needed, like the issue with the car and the room.
You would have expected that this kind of hotel would have better response tothis issues, we could have had a much greater experience, I don'tthink I will get back

The rooms needed complete renovation. Air con very noisy and ineffective. Shower in a bath with curtain unhygienic. Toilet didn’t work well. Carpet stained.

Great character and super location. The rooms were comfortable. The La Palapa was a great place to have a casual dinner. Breakfast buffet was very bountiful and tasty. The vineyards in the area are fantastico!!

Good Location on the square, with a nice pool and spa area

Situation excellent, friendly, lovely breakfast, very good choice in restaurant.

The hotel is larger than expected and locating our room was challenging. The front desk staff could be more helpful in this regard. There is limited parking on the hotel premises. The rooms are comfortable. The pool area is quite busy with families. The hotel providing complimentary admission to the adjacent private museum which is worth visiting, and to the casino. There is not any other activity or restaurants in the town centre.

The hotel is nice.the rooms are tiny and they don’t have a usable terrace as you might think from the description. The restaurant and breakfast is good. The main problem we had was that some of the staff in reception were not helpful. The rest of staff were very pleasant. OK hotel but expensive for service you receive.

Overall the hotel was comfortable and included a nice breakfast. The woman who checked us in was not very friendly and when I asked to store our luggage until our room was ready she chuckled and said something in Spanish which she knew we did not understand as we were speaking English.

Hotel is very outdated in rooms, nasty carpet, safe didn’t work elevator didn’t work. Staff refused to give me a receipt upon checkout and seemed to be pulling a ruse. Couldn’t tell really but they refused to even give me a copy of their receipt which was less than what Hotels.com charged. I would appreciate it if Hotels.com contacted me by email about this issue. Basically property was all show but under the surface less than mediocre.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is awesome, close to so many restaurants and vineyards. Even though you are in the center of the city, the hotel was quiet and gave the illusion of seclusion. The beds were a bit too soft and bouncy for our taste, but the rooms were in general comfortable and very clean. We loved the general feel of the hotel, capturing traditional Chile at its best, but some areas were in need of maintenance. And the dirty windows around the indoor pool really detracted from the ambience in that area. The breakfast buffet was abundant but a bit on the boring side. We did, however, love the jacuzzi session for two offered in the spa, and my massage was wonderful as well, so in general it was a good stay, just not necessarily an extraordinary one.

We stayed at the Plaza on our way south from Santiago, Chile, headed toward the lakes country, based on a recommendation of a family friend. We went out of our way to stay there on our way back to Santiago to fly home because of the quality of the hotel property, its staff, grounds and amenities. English speaking staff, secure on-site valet parking, spa, pools, beautiful grounds, business center, wonderful included breakfast, world-class museum on-site.

This hotel is very dated. They desperately need a make-over. The original room was very tiny but they upgraded us to a larger room. Still not up to par. The towels are extremely thin and carpeting is worn. The furniture is quite old.

This hotel could be amazing! Being a travel agent I booked for my own personal travel - and walked the grounds to check out for future referrals to clients. I loved the grounds around the pool. Very lovely. The decor was nice, BUT this hotel needs a good cleaning from top to bottom! The rug in our room was patched meaning they replaced parts of the rug and it shows - the rug was absolutely dirty. Overall it is a bit worn but that doesnt typically keep me from using a hotel. As an US travel agent I hear from many clients how they do not like rugs in hotel rooms due to a cleanliness standpoint. I have to agree. Ceramic tile is much easier to keep clean. The lights in the room were dusty as well. I do like this hotel and I myself would stay there again BUT I could not recommend to clients since most would not appreciate the conditions of the rug and the worn overall look of the hotel. BUT for a location was great. Bar and menu a bit limited. Although that didnt bother me as well since I was there to explore all my surroundings. The staff was very pleasant and eager to please. A bit more attention to detail and get rid of the rugs in the rooms and you have yourself a GREAT hotel!

The location was excellent for our needs. Our room was delightful and clean and the staff were most helpful. Unfortunately the Sunday we were there was Election Day so the museum was closed. Overall 9/10

Breakfast service was good, all else was marginal.

Very nice hotel in Colchagua Valley , close to La Ruta del Vino where you can taste most of the best chilean wines.
Good hotel , the only thing I didn't like was the room with carpet, tile would be much better.
Don't miss restaurant La Famiglia de Santis just a block away and Viña Santa Cruz just 15 miles from the hotel.

The hotel was wonderfully cute. They put out a nice breakfast and it was definitely kid friendly. It was centrally located in Santa Cruz. Parking was free, however, there was not a lot on site and they would periodically move your car to an off site location, they did not always tell you they were doing that, so ask, as it takes about 10 minutes for them to retrieve. Sometimes they let you self park, other times they park you. The rooms had a sweet little terrace.
Only complaint was that the mattress seemed a bit older, they tended to sink towards the middle. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. we arrived with a 3rd adult which we could not pre-book into the hotel, but they were accommodating when we arrived and we paid the extra adult fee upon arrival.
There was a tourist office in the hotel which was very helpful.

A great hotel to stay at from which to enjoy the delights of the surrounding Colchagua Valley wine region.

Excellent hotel - food could be better though

Santa Cruz Plaza proved a quality hotel of character. Rooms at the back were generous with a balacony and views over the museum courtyard. Pool area relatively small but attractive. Dining was good: food and wine excellent, although the service was patchy. Excellent location for vineyard tours. Could be noisy at front of hotel from town square and evening entertainments.
