Nice location
4.3
Excellent Residence. Large quiet rooms. Great staff.
4.3
This is a lovely property in the "Ville d'Hiver" part of Arcachon. It is about a 12min walk to the city center, but it is a lovely walk thru a park or viewing gorgeous architecture. The building is a bit of a fading beauty, however, the place and rooms are very clean if dated. Comfortable beds, large rooms, quiet area. I've stayed twice and would do so again.
4.3
Bed really comfy and good facilities except for shower where attachment to wall was broken.
Good location and love Arcachon.
Pool area nice and hotel was really quiet and peaceful.
4.3
Lovely stay. Characterful, though exteriorly a little jaded. Terrace a little unkempt. Interiorly very clear and spacious. Reasonably priced. Ideal as a base.
4.3
The property was full of character but basic in some respects- eg no air conditioning.
4.3
The hotel is located in the Ville d’Hiver, which is a historic residential area of Arcachon with beautiful villas. Very quiet and elegant. It’s on the hill and about 10 minutes walk from the beach/restaurants/shops of Arcachon. The villa’s exterior and interior is somewhat dated, but in a good way. Our room was great: spacious with high ceilings, clean and well equipped.
4.3
A beautiful Belle Époque house turned into apartments.
4.3
Clean comfortable and friendly!
4.3
Clean, cosy, spacious, the host is adorable and has given us some information about what to visit, where to eat.
4.3
Overall okay but lack of amenities,
The towels had dirt marks on it.
4.3
Modern room, perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. Good facilities.
Service and welcome excellent.
Breakfast good value.
Common areas (e.g. corridors) a little tired.
4.3
The location is the biggest asset - lovely quiet area and a short work into the centre of Arcachon.
However, the decor of the villa is depressing and old fashioned, the apartment needs updating, no air conditioning. No availability of clean towels and did not see a cleaner for five days.
Pool area only open from 10am to 7pm and (2pm - 7pm on a Saturday), seems villa is run for the staff rather than the guests.
Poor value for money :(((

Villa Regina was an ideal self-catering base to enjoy Arcachon. Wonderful setting in the winter town and close to the park, which we enjoyed walking through several times each day. The room was quiet and a good size for a couple. Staff helpful when we needed them. Sufficient parking either in the grounds our close by. Charming old building in need of some updating and maintenance. Would visit again.
4.3
Nice location away from the beach Quiet, surrounded by some beautiful Villas. Only a 15 minute walk down to the beach.
4.3
Quiet. Lovely area of Arcachon. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Pretty walk to town centre and beach. Problem when the lift in the park wasn't working. Steep hill to climb back. Could have done with air conditioning during hot days.
4.3
Great place to stay, lovely & clean, parking is free & it's safe. Not too a far walk for the beach & shops. Would stay there again.
4.3
Huge, former grand hotel, now converted to an aparthotel. Very pleasant lady welcomed us.
4.3
Helpful and nice staff!
4.3
The price is low but the room and service is quite good. Also it is convenient that small kitchen exists. We have traveled for 10 days and have been bored to eat outside. Buying materials, cook here and eat with wine gave us a happy time. Our original plan was to stay here for one night, but we plan to stay the third night tomorrow.

3 nights in the area. Walking - boat trip. Excellent. Outdoor pool very cold .... you will need a very hot day !!!.Quiet location at top of town.
4.3
Having renovations done, so electric drills and mattresses being brought in during our visit. Otherwise relaxed and friendly staff. Good stay.

Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. French windows opened onto a small balcony, overlooking the garden. The whole building had the air of faded gentility. The area itself is in the historic Ville d'Hiver, once the haunt of the fashionably wealthy who came in pursuit of the spa waters and mild climate to improve their health. Sadly, like a Grand old Dame of the Belle Époque, this hotel has seen better days and has lost her youthful lustre. She, too, is in need of a cure, or at least a stylish makeover. Though, renovations have already begun. However, it was a fabulous stay. The ability to self cater was enormously helpful for two Veggies in a town built on oysters. The whole area is amazing, a cross between the Hollywood Hills and a Hammer Horror film set. I loved it. A short stroll through the park and either a lift or steps will lead you directly into the fashionable end of town, full of chic shops, boutiques and cafes, and of course, the golden beach. The location could not be better. And so peaceful at night that you can sleep soundly even with the windows open, if you can tear yourself away from standing on the balcony to count the stars.

I imagine in its day this hotel was fabulous. These days it is slightly dated and faded, but it was still a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and helpful (although they had very little, if any, english). The room was comfortable and clean with a cute kitchenette (hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and cutlery/crockery). Its in a nice leafy location, just a 10-15minute walk from Archachon centre (though a fairly steep hill to walk back to the hotel unless you take the lift in the park - bizarre, but true!).
We'd have no problem going back to this hotel in the future, and Archachon itself is lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights at Villa Regina & it met all our expectations about from the pool temperature, not heated but didn't mind too much after a very hot day in late Aug visiting the beach & the huge dune, a must see! The place was quiet & our room very sunny & HUGE! Bigger than our flat in London and nice to have the ability to make our own food, had just stayed at a place in St Emilion without even a glass so made a nice change. The neighbourhood Villa Regina is located in is lovely with lots of pretty houses worth a good wander around. And don't let the location put you off. We only used the lift to town once & only because I wanted to try it, if you have a good level of fitness you don't even get puffed walking up the hill.
4.3
The Villa Regina, located in the heart of the only non commercial area of the city of Arcachon, lies still at a short walking distance of the city's center and the beaches. We appreciated the cheerful assistance of the staff and the quietness of our large studio opening on its patio in the garden. We were treated like the royalties who spent their summers among the exotic trees of the Ville d'Hiver. October is a nice time to visit.
4.3
This was once a grand hotel - but it has been converted to quite modest self catering rooms. The furniture in the 'living'area is basic, the bedroom small. This is not a home from home.
4.3
We loved this hote. and felt like royalty as we arrived. The building is beautiful, the pool excellent and the rooms large, well equipped, and clean. It was wonderful. We recommend it highly.
4.3
We were extremely impressed by the impressive layout, the large well equipped ensuite rooms and great overall comfort level. It was an easy walk down to the beach front with the convenience of plenty off street parking. On the way you pass the market and can access the excellent seafood restaurants near the railway station. The friendly concierge showed us old pictures of this old luxury hotel which looks like being on its way to former glory levels. Great value accommodation.
4.3
We stayed here for 1 night in July 2007. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The continental breakfast was ample and served in a magnificent front dining room, high ceilings, huge chairs, crisp white table cloths and served by attentive staff. The room was clean and airy, fully equipped for self catering (we didn't use as only stayed 1night). Villa has a pool, we didn't use (colour of water a bit off putting) but other family with children didn't seem put off by this. Villa is in need of coat of paint outside...however some would say this added to its appeal and carpets on stairs a bit worn in places. We would go back though. Its about a 5-10 min walk down steps to town we got a taxi back 10 euros. There are few taxis operating in Arcachon - we had to wait nearly one hour for ours.
4.3
Definitely a no-frills place to stay - basic self-catering accommodation: nb no meals except light breakfast by prior arrangement. But - everything works and it is clean and efficient and sensibly priced. Check-in desk is closed between 1200-1500. Located on the hill above the town about 10 minutes walk from the seafront. Plenty of parking.
4.3
This hotel could not offer us a double bed - all the rooms are equipped with a pair of small single beds for children and a 'sofa bed' for the adults. Not at all as we had imagined as we had booked a double room - expected at least a proper bed - so we left - did not stay - a real disappointment for our longed for weekend break. When we asked staff if they had any other accommodation they were very unhelpful
