Room was clean and comfortable. The gambling was terrible.

When I checked in. Within 5 minutes I tried to use the toilet and it wouldn’t flush. I call the front desk and by the time someone came I tried to fix it myself. 10 minutes later it still wasn’t fixed so I let the maintenance man come and he said it was fixed. Later that night after shift change another maintenance person came and replaced the handle and lo and behold it still wasn’t fixed. They only offered to return the resort fees. I believe I was entitled to way more than that!

Check in was quick easy and fast.
We had plenty of room for friends to hang out before gambling. The shower was impressive, felt like a sauna while enjoying the seat. Pillows were soft and bed was comfortable.

It was ridiculously hot in the halls and in the room. We set the ac to 69 and it had to be at least 80. We could not sleep and friends had rooms on other floors with the same problem. Then the power went out and the pitboss did not handle that legally or cordially. I have been to the property many times of there years, dating back to it being the isle and I’d never been treated so poorly or miserable. I don’t like to complain or stir things up but it was disappointing and there was no attempt to set thing right. Power outage and HVAC problems can be out of the control of any employee, but how they are handled and compensated for are 100% in their control to make it right.

Got food poisoning from brew brothers I ordered my burger well done and got rare as they could serve a hot patty. Honestly this was ruined my beginning of my 10 day stay. Humiliated by the staff and their rude comments. I honestly never thought I would of had such a horrible experience. I just wanted to spend my recent winnings of 17k in peace. I was well know and respected by staff members but after this experience I'm never going to return to horseshoe casino.

The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The entire stay went downhill from there. The amenities lists AC however there is NOT AC and in the room. Our room was 78 degrees. We had to keep the windows open just to achieve 72. Plugged one curling iron in and the breaker blew in the bathroom. No lights or power. Re-set the outlet and finally got power. Had to curl hair in by the bed. Coffee maker did not work. When we went to the front desk in the morning to discuss the AC, power & coffee pot; she acted like she could care less. We did have a new coffee pot when we returned at the end of the day. We drove 6 hours and were tired when we arrived. A "valet" approached us and offered to park our car for $10 in valet for our entire stay. So we agreed. Only to find out the next morning, "valet" is complimentary. How can you have these con-artist working at your facility? Not once did we receive maid service. When we would return after being gone all day, our towels (that were hanging up) were taken and a pile of clean towels on the counter. Every day we got less and less towels. They would remove 2 wash clothes, 3 towels and one hand towel. They gave us 0 wash clothes, 2 bath towels and 5 hand towels. I prefer you don't take our towels that are hanging up if you are going to short us daily! Not once were we ever greeted or acknowledge when leaving or returning from the hotel. Very rude staff. There are many other choices to stay at....choose them!

The room was nice. I am housekeeping manager and there was hair on the toilet as well as the floor next to the toilet. Stain on the pillow case and on the mattress pad

I did not book with them. And I have tried telling them that and they won’t refund me. They were suppose to cancel this and never did. Now they won’t let me submit this review.

Last minute local-type reservation for one night. Decided to stay on account of another decent review. The room did not disappoint.

It was an okay place. Smells like smoke. But overall fine for the price
2.0 / 10.0
Upon arrival we were given a room that was so stale smelling from smoke , that we could hardly breath. So we went back to the desk and asked for a “ non-smoking “ room. The next room was nice, but the a/c did not work. Maintenance was notified , but never showed up. Luckily it was in the 50’s at night, so we opened the window. The parking garage was not lite very well , and ice machine on our floor was out of order, as well as very rusted. It didn’t look like it was in working order for quite some time. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights, and we had no room service , nor did we even see any cleaning staff or their carts in the hallways. The desk staff was great to work with , but that is as far as it got.
Not sure where the pics or the the info on the Horseshoe website came from !! But we were disappointed at best, with our experience.

Limited places to eat and cafe didn't open till 11 am.
Desk staff seems shorthanded and not very friendly or helpful like they are annoyed at people checking into their hotel…gee sorry to bother y’all, maybe next time I’ll stay across the street.

It was fine, was charged a 10.00 early check in fee even though the room was ready and it was only 15 minutes early!

It’s very convenient walking to other hotels. The room was a typical hotel room except that our shower door was broke. It wouldn’t slide open on one side. Also, the electrical plug would short out in the bathroom when I tried to use the hair dryer. All the lights wouldn’t work in the bathroom until I reset the plug. We ate at the brewery at the hotel. I got a patty melt and it was fine. My husband got a steak for $35 and it was awful. Would look for some place else to stay next time.

Liked everything except did go home rich. Also miss buffet

Nothing seemed to work in the room. Mini fridge, coffee maker and some outlets weren't working. The light in the bathroom would turn itself off and on by itself. Soap in the bathroom was scarce. The floor was noisy part of the night.

We arrived about 20 minutes before 4pm and the front office 2 associates sitting behind the desk were not helping anyone. I ask if I could check in now for our room and was told if I wanted to check in now I would have to pay $10 extra dollars for the room or wait till after 4pm. I was very surprised to hear that. In all my travels I have never encountered such a thing. They could have checked me in but let me know that the room will not be ready till 4pm. Instead they made everyone wait until 4pm to line up for check in.

The check in and check out staff were rude. Coffee maker was broken. Room was hot and the staff didn’t do anything about it. Room smelled on cigarette smoke and it was a nonsmoking room. Not enough towels in the room for the number of people staying. Food was okay. Parking was confusing. Overall my experience was not good. I would not recommend to anyone and I won’t be returning.

Rooms smelled of smoke,
The food on site was horrible. The waitress was friendly and let us know people were not happy all day with the food.
The front desk agent with the glasses and ponytail is the rudest person ever. $11 to check in 20 min early. Casino is dated, rooms are meh. Monarch is definitely better choice in Black Hawk.

Prior to booking I confirmed with central reservations that the hotel had strong, reliable internet access as I needed to be able to work remotely from my room. The reservations agent confirmed with the front desk that the WiFi in the rooms is strong and reliable. Upon arrival I discovered this was not the case. I hoped it was only down for the moment, but the WiFi was unavailable for the majority of my stay (6th floor). I contacted the front desk three times asking if they could report the issue with IT. These are the various responses I got:
- First attempt: “Our IT doesn’t get in until 11am, but I’ll let them know”.
- Second attempt: “I just clocked in. Can you call me back in 10min?”
- Third attempt: “I don’t know how to get a hold of IT. Sorry.”
- Fourth attempt: “I radioed IT about it.”
I was not able to use the WiFi for work my entire stay, which was very disruptive for me.
To cap it all off, upon check out, the front desk agent (in black suit), said, “I’m sorry. We always have issues with our WiFi because of the mountains.” Most people (don’t need an IT degree) know geography has nothing to do with a business’s WiFi strength and reliability (and I’m an IT engineer). Plus I was told prior to booking the hotel has strong and reliable WiFi. Clearly this woman had no idea what she was talking about, and instead of trying to make it right, she provided a ridiculously uninformed reason for the service failure.
Overall I do not recommend this hotel.

Dont stay here. Employees rude, dont understand their own app, overcharge if you dont watch carefully and my bathroom lights died mid stay.

The beds are super uncomfortable and the front desk staff are either not kind or not professional. Saddened by our stay here, especially since it was our honeymoon.
