Melany and Pasquale were exceptionally nice! Cute hotel and most spacious we’ve had so far!

Great property in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the centre of Rapallo

Very charming hotel with excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff!

Lovely family room with balcony view. Nice amenities. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend Hotel Canali.

The hotel itself is very outdated and desperately in need of some upgrades and renewal ( for example, bed mattresses are lumpy and thin, bathroom supplies are bare minimum, some floors covered in artificial grass carpeting … just overall odd). For the nightly rate, you would expect a little more — even for a European hotel room. That being said, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the complimentary breakfast was wonderful.

When you book a JUNIOR SUITE you need to expecct that it is on -1 in the building, has a handicapped bathroom and toilet, need to look through a metal grill window and it smells moldy - all not the standard you would expect

What a nice hotel. A lovely old building but beautifully maintained in a quiet part of Rapallo. Friendly helpful staff; a good quality self-service breakfast and free parking all made for an enjoyable hassle free stay. To get to the main part of the town from the hotel it is about a ten minute walk through a park. If visiting Rapallo again we will definitely book this hotel.

Grate place for relax. Big room, delicious breakfast. Many restaurants near the hotel.

If ever you find yourself in Pontevera, then this is probably the best place to stay. The hotel is nice enough, but the surroundings have no redeeming features. The only attraction is the Piaggio Museum nearby. My only other comment is why does this hotel exist?

This was our last bit one stop on our French Italian road trip & was the most expensive & only dissapointing one of the trip.
The staff were lovely and rooms were comfortable, but it was a very tired looking hotel in places & in need of some refurbishment.
Also we really didn't like the resort of Rapallo either. It was crowded, noisy & scruffy.
This was obviously just not our taste as it seemed like a super popular resort!?

Poor maintenance of facilities
Cleanliness of the room
Tiny safe, no chance to place a passport, wallet and phone at the same time
Maids were extremly loud early in the morning

This hotel is unsuitable for disabled people.
The management has no compassion and no understanding of people's need. My poor husband has Parkinson's and found this hotel extremely unsuitable. The management would not refund our credit card. I am extremely angry as my husband has not recovered from this terrible experience. The hotel does not have a restaurant. This is a very difficult property for those with disabilities.
Actually this is the first time I have posted a review.
I have contacted my credit card company and i am now being informed by them that I have been charged four orcfive times by this hotel. Although I had paid for the whole trip in three separate bookings.

Very pleasant except for steet noise going late but it was Saturday night. The receptionist was outstanding!

We are not happy to be at this hotel.. That is it...

We had a superb welcome with such lovely staff, who felt like friends.
We had a fabulous room with two balconies, a sea view and beautiful surroundings.
Easy to get into seafront of Rapallo...walking only took 10 mins.
Everything around that we needed.
Very peaceful back at hotel in evening, as just off beaten front track of madness.
We loved every minute of our holiday and would go back again.
Absolutely couldn't fault it.
Thank you for a fab holiday...we went for my 50th birthday, and came back engaged too !! Brilliant XXX

The hotel sounded good on hotels.com. but when we checked into our room there were two things that really annoyed us.
1. We could not get any sleep cause the walls are too thin and we could here very thing that our neighbours were saying. Everything !
2. We could not sleep cause the bed sheets were of subpar quality and it felt like something was biting at us. Bed sheets were itchy...not good.
No sleep makes for a bad vacation. Hence I give this hotel a very bad rating

Enjoyed our stay. Location was good - an easy walk in to Rafallo. Although we had no real problems, parking was very tricky. Like so many places in Europe, wifi was not robust. The staff were EXCELLENT and Breakfast was EXCELLENT.

I don't think a hotel in Rapallo with parking is easy to come by. Luckily this hotel was more that just their parking lot. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. You can purchase ferry tickets directly at the front desk that will take you to Santa Margherita and Portofino. If you drove, plan on just leaving your car and taking a nice stroll into town. Getting into town is easy, but coming back is a little tougher uphill. Our room did not have a balcony, but the windows fully opened for a great view of the fireworks. Without knowing we happened to stay at the perfect time during the feste at the beginning of July. The rooms were very spacious. I loved the large chunky door keys and the decor matches the era of the hotel perfectly. You know your in a luxury hotel when you have a bidet in your bathroom. The shower was a bit tight for such a large room, larger travelers may even have difficulty getting in the shower. I saw the jacuzzi and was planning on going in at night, but for some reason they do not allow changing the temperature and it wasn't warm.

Very good service, mainly Ms. Sonia at front desk.

We stayed here as a stopover on our way to SanRemo. The girl at the desk who checked us in was not very pleasant, she seemed annoyed that we used hotels.com instead of booking directly with hotel. We didnt let that bother us as the hotel was outstanding'The town of Rapalla was a nice little place with plenty of restaraunts. The rest of the staff were very nice, parking was a little tight but you left your keys with the front desk & they moved your car if needed.Breafast was served also but not included in price.

Love this hotel! So cute and really sweet. Staffed 24 hours a day and the woman working at the front is really helpful. Located about 10-15 minutes away from the heart of the city so it's a little bit of a walk but there is parking and the walk is not bad.

Great hotel about a 15 minute walk into town. The only complaint is the shower. Dont know if its a European thing but the tub was not enclosed at all which made it awkward to shower and not get everything wet. Also the hairdryer was somewhat inadequate. Other then that I would highly recommend.

We had a great time and the family owners were very attentive and helpful in every way. Loved the location and the rooms.

Hotel is a beautiful old building with pretty grounds just outside the main town (10 minute walk) however staff were not overly friendly. Room was clean but our double bed was two singles pushed together. Breakfast was not great, €5 charge for orange juice, croissants were burnt.

Pros: good location, free parking, friendly staff, stylish authentic building with original decor
Cons: small rooms, small bathrooms, old windows, no slippers
I believe a four star hotel should have bigger rooms and bathrooms, provide bathrobes and slippers. The old windows are absolutely not soundproof. While birds morning songs are absolutely bearable, occasional scooters rattle is not. Also we have small ants in our room. They were not a big disturbance but....
On the bright side the 24/7 reception is friendly and welcoming and the stylish authentic original decor of the building common areas is a rare gem (even sterling silverware for breakfast). If it was presented as a three or three and a half star hotel I would give it 5 stars, but for a four star accommodation (and four star price) it lacks a lot.

A romantic and charming classic hotel. Step back in time to the 1930's. A nice walk to the beach and ferry for rides to Portofino and Santa Margarita. Room is classic, we had a private terrace with an ocean view.

We stayed at Hotel Canali for three nights. We found it clean and comfortable with enormous free breakfast, free carparking and free wifi. We had room 21 which had double aspect windows and small balcony. It is a 10 minute stroll to Rapallo where there are good and well priced restaurants. We took return ferry to Portofino for walking and return train to Cinque Terra for walking which both worked well.

Good hotel a short walk to the main town.
Nice and clean and good breakfasts.

Genuinely friendly atmosphere by all staff. Well located, highly recommended. Breakfast on the terrace is recommended. Ask massimo for a cappuccino. He will deliver pronto.
