We had a great stay in one of the privilege rooms.

One night and provided all we needed. Short walk into beautiful Rouen

Easy check in and check out

Must admit I’m confused what to expect from Mercure these days. It’s hard to tell the really quality from the more basic in the same band. This is one of the more basic. It shares a lot of its facilities- check in, bar, restaurant, parking with the attached Ibis. The location is a bit off putting at first but is only a 5-10 min walk to the main centre, restaurants etc, The room was okay for the money, clean and spacious but pretty basic. The parking underground is ridiculously tight for large cars but do-able with care. Costs about €15 for 24 hours. Disappointing that in the fitness room only the treadmill seemed to work & on some days both the sauna or steam room were turned off

Great property however a bit far from the beaten track.

Really nice hotel conveniently located on the outskirts of Rouen. Property was in excellent condition, modern and clean rooms and well equipped bathrooms. Very welcoming front desk who were predominately multi-lingual.
The surrounding area felt safe, but was busy as you’d expect for a city centre hotel.
Parking was secure underground, really good if you were stopping en route to another destination, and very reasonable rate (something like €1.50 per hour).
Breakfast was of great quality and a decent variety of options (continental, cereals, cheeses, some fruit - our only minor observation is there could have been more variety of fruit!)

This is an average business hotel.

Rouen is a lovely city to walk and visit. Great place to soak in history, talk with people and rethink your life priorities.

Every day something was broken: plumbing problems flooded floor, shampoo holder, telephone to reception, stop working keys, paper cups in the room , no apologies, breakfast is extremely poor, espresso machine was broken, dirty bathroom, dirty glasses, very difficult parking. Staff is rude, almost no English.
We were stayed in the basement room near the garage exit: smell, noise. One star hotel could be better. Nobody cares about anything.

We booked a ‘privilege room’ for my partner & 2 children age 5 & 7 as this was the option for sleeping 4 people.
When we arrived it was clear the hotel was undergoing building works internally with no apparent reception desk for the hotel which shared an entrance with the Ibis hotel next door.
Our room smelt strongly of paint, it had a separate study room which had a sofa bed for the kids.
The furniture was really sparse. In the entrance hallway, it was really dark, it needed extra wall lights and a console to put items on. The main bedroom needed at least a chair & side table.
Plug sockets didn’t work by the headboard. No sockets in hallway so we had to charge our phones in the kids/ study room over night.
The coffee machine was in the kids / study room so not ideal for making a drink when the kids have gone to bed.
The windows were able to fully open in both rooms with no safety closing mechanism, not ideal for two young children sleeping in the sofa room.
The bathroom although well presented with soaps, shampoos, etc didn’t have a heated towel rail which we found very odd. The toilet room was separate without a basin which we find very unhygienic.
The ‘privilege room’ felt very ‘temporary’ with very thin walls between rooms, decorating details such as paint work, grouting in bathroom all very messy, not to a 4 star hotel standard.
It was disappointing to have all of these items dampen our experience at the hotel and we would not return because o

Hotel under reconstruction. The sixth floor was being painted and had the floor covered with plastic. Room was decent but had a view of the fire escape and parking. The parking was incredibly tight. Good luck if you have a mid size car. The restaurant was new and some items were not available but the staff was just great.

Nice place to stay near Notre Dame Cathedral.

Ok

Very friendly, helpful staff. Immediately upgraded us when our air conditioning did not work. Clean, modern rooms. Appreciated having on site parking.
4.1
The location was great, parking on site was also
Appreciated, & the staff were very friendly & the breakfast buffets was delicious. However, the cleanliness of our unit—the bathroom in particular, needed attention! The bathroom tile was moldy; the shower curtain was dirty. & full of mold & scum at the bottom; the mirror light did not work & was not fixed even when we told the front desk person about it twice.

It was a last minute decision to stay at the Mercure in Rouen. The directions were hard to follow. The parking lot was awful. The hotel lobby, staff, and room was very nice. We enjoyed the stay.
4.1
Don't be fooled by the outside appearance of this hotel, inside is of a very good quality.
4.1
This is a good hotel and was great for our one-night stay. Large room and dog friendly. Unfortunately the window had clearly been left open so the carpet was very wet in places, but that's probably not the hotel's fault. The room service food was incredibly good and breakfast buffet was lovely.
4.1
Disgusting! Rooms are weared, filthy, and the sinks were blocked. Smells horrific. We got a list with rooms to "pick" a suitable one however all rooms are in the same bad state. Refurbishment regarding this hotel is painting the bathroom tiles. We run away after one night and had paid for two nights, but they didn't want to refund the skipped night and one breakfast. Don’t go here if you respect yourself.

The location is very convenient for the cathedral and old town. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walk. There are also good cheese, bread and charcuterie shops nearby (ask at reception for directions) and a large Intermarché. Good vfm if you don’t mind being slightly less than central. We have stayed here a couple of times.

In a great position with parking on site. The room was small for a 4* hotel and the bathroom a bit tired. The staff were amiable enough but I found dinner a bizarre experience. The layout of the menu was at best strange, the wines on offer were limited and the food did not excite. Breakfast, however, was good.

Great overnight stay with welcoming staff, fantastic breakfast and a lovely room.
4.1
Nice room w/comfy beds
4.1
To be avoided: dirty rooms (hairs on towels, chewingum on the floors), extra small and very old towels. Unprepared staff (only 1 could comminicate in english, nobody knew anything about surroundings). Breakfast: not enough personnel, poor quality quantity and variety of food and drinks.
4.1
Good location, friendly staff, good service

Lovely, clean hotel with really friendly staff.
Could probably make gluten free breakfast better but otherwise perfect place to stay.

It is ok

Clean & very comfortable. Back rooms have view from juliet balcony of a small park with large fountain. Kettle & supplies in room. Short on toiletries but I had what I needed. 4 nite stay included fab bkfst buffet.

If you’re planning on parking at the hotel. rent a small car.
4.1
Central location. Close to all major attractions. Underground Parking was very difficult to navigate with mid-sized vehicle. We had 2 rooms, therefore had plenty of space.
4.1
Property good very well located

My husband fell in our room. I went to the front desk to ask for ice and explained why we needed it. I was curtly given a plastic bag of ice. No one at the front desk seemed concerned about the fall or asked if we needed other help.
4.1
A very nice hotel, clean. The staff are kind and helpful.
4.1
Recently (and well) refurbished, this is a comfortable, well-located hotel on the edge of the city centre. The road system provides easy and fast access and the dedicated on-site parking means parking is always available.
4.1
Great hotel with secured underground parking. Our “prestige” room was large. The hotel is nearby a city centre. We could communicate in English with the staff at the reception.
4.1
Modern hotel within an easy walk of the centre. Large Intermarché on the doorstep. Half an hour's walk from the station.
4.1
Wonderfully large room with brilliant views over the next door park and fountain! Very convenient parking under the hotel. Modern decor and good quality bedding.
4.1
Pretty good location 10 minute walk to cathedral. Parking is on site which is great but tight and reasonable.
4.1
The hotel is pretty standard for Europe. Clean, somewhat stylish w basic services. My room was my favorite on this trip. It had a picture window that swung open all the way allowing for beautiful crisp air and a lovely view of the garden. Areas of improvement are: coffee in rooms is instant w a hot water pot. The entrance is for smokers and the garage dumps out far from the hotel leaving us to fight traffic to make our way back.
4.1
Room good apart from grey towels
Good location near to cathedral and other sites, also a lot of restaurants there, but 5-10 minute walk
Told parking was 60c per hour, but somehow the barrier opened for free.
Thought breakfast at Euro 19 was a bit steep, so went to Ibis next door for Euro 9 instead
