Convenient to walk to restaurants, shops, boats. Free parking, great rooftop bar. Great little beach

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff especially in the sky bar, so friendly.
Rooms brand new.

Hotel had an excellent location and had friendly staff. Lacked some little touches, which would have taken the rating to very good.

Very friendly and helpful people, but for the price we felt our room was quite small and the balcony tiny- literally 2 chairs and small table filled it. The larger 'junior suite' room was another 60 a night - but i just didnt think it was worth that- it was the size i would have expected for what i paid! Pillows quite hard and no option for softer pillows. Breakfast good and good that they have a small pebble beach with beds , all that said we had a great time but feel we should be able to get a better room for the price at other mediterranean resorts- although it must be said the area is very beautiful indeed and very good local restaurants.

Hotel was adequate but bar staff were rude would not stay here again

Lovely hotel. Newly decorated room and the staff were great. We found our stay perfect and will definitely return.

Large well equipped room with comfortable bed and plenty of storage. Good to have a fridge and kettle. Spotlessly clean.

I had specified that i wanted a room with a view as i wanted to do some writing. My room was on the first floor, and my garden view consisted of white walls two storeys high with some potted trees on the ground floor. I could only see a patch of sky by leaning right out of the window. The room was very small and hot (in mid october) and a dog barked incessantly at night. Having spoken to other guests, i decided against trying to upgrade as some of the other garden views sounded even worse than mine, and the side sea view rooms were even hotter as they faced south. The full sea view rooms were more than i was prepared to pay.
Air conditioning was an extra at €6/night. I decided against it and slept with my window open, though in the height of summer it would be a must.
Rooms have a very small safe (it would not contain a larger ipad) that locks with a key. They charge €2/day; I pointed out that it would be far fairer if they just had a deposit for the key (as they do with beach towels, which is fine). Unlike air conditioning, there is no higher cost to them whether i use a safe once or 10 times.
The food was good (I was on half board) and very plentiful, and the restaurant is very well placed on a jetty over the sea. There are also lovely views from the sea bar on the 4th floor. However, even when i was there on my own, the bar tender said he could not turn the music down.

We were there for 11 nights July 2015. Overall we were very pleased by the convenience of the hotel and the value for money. The facilities are maybe not top notch but certainly good - especially for the costs. Staff were friendly and chatty - they felt genuinely keen to make sure things were as they could be. After a few nights we paid extra to upgrade to a sea view room which was again good value, though the bathroom in this room was on the pokey side. The beach right across the road is small, but there are free sun loungers and umbrella's. Also a bonus is the fact there is a car park which could get a bit full, but the road outside was also available and in a small town like Elounda access to parking is very helpful.... We would have no hesitation in recommending this place to people keen to get a good experience for a reasonable price.

Right on the water with a private beach and rooftop pool and bar. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend.

We stayed half board at the Akti Olous and found it great value for money. The location on the waterfront is amazing and the views from the rooftop pool and bar area are stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were varied. Our room was small but clean and had a kettle and hair dryer. We found the pillows rather hard but the beds were comfortable.

Had a lovely stay, hotel breakfast was first class and could sit on the jetty to eat. Nice private beach but could be bigger. Rooms cleaned daily fresh towels every 3 days. Courtesy room to shower before travelling. Would go again and good deal through Expedia.

Well placed hotel. Lovely views. Get a room with a sea view, it's worth it. Friendly staff. Great value for money. We'll be back next year. Excellent restaurants close by

Hotel is nice and looks recently refurbished. It's nicely located by the beach at the quiet end of Elounda. The food there is good and the Skybar is nice with great views over the bay. The staff were also friendly. Only drawback was the standard rooms. Ours was next to the lift and was noisy when it was in use. The bathroom was very cramped and the shower head had to be hand held as there was no wall fixing. Plug didn't work in the sink and hot water was a only available occasionally. Other than that, we had a nice stay.

The restaurant and breakfast is the best part! Great view and a very quiet location.

It was good value for money but just a bit too Brit friendly. Baked beans and full english breakfast might suit some holiday makers but we want a more authentic Cretan experience when we travel. Rooms clean and comfortable but not a visually appealing hotel. One receptionist very friendly, the other quite stern.

The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay and spoke excellent English. We stayed on a B&B basis and were happy with the choice of food for breakfast. We had main meals for 3 out of our 7 days, and were very happy with the food. We were pleased that they made the effort to provide spit roast lamb as a traditional lunchtime meal for Easter Sunday. The views from the restaurant were lovely and it was great to have seats by the sea.
The location was fantastic, very close to the main Elounda village and harbour but also close to a pleasant walk in the other direction.

We found the hotel to be in a very good location just minutes from Elounda square and a bars and restaurants. The stroll from the hotel to the square passed many nice waterfront restaurants and the hotel itself had a lovely restaurant with good food and good value for money on a protruding pontoon providing a lovely place to sit and enjoy your meal. The view towards Spinalonga was beautiful. It was nice to have the pool and terrace on the 4th floor providing superb views across the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My main critiscm was that the room was quite basic and small. You would want a room close to the front (as ours was) to get a sea view. I would definately recommend this hotel.

This is a family run Greek hotel. It offers exceptional service from all the staff, they are so friendly and welcoming, you will feel like a long lost cousin.
It sits at the quiet end of town and most of the guests are over 25 so little chance of any hi jinks or loud neighbours.
We had the mega cheap room which was small but immaculately clean with its own tiny balcony. The TV had no english channels, so no news catch up BUT who goes on holiday to watch TV? The shower is traditionally Greek ( a floor pan and a curtain) but it does the job. They have upgraded the pluming so you can flush paper down the loo, something you may not find in all greek places. The free lobby & bar wifi was great.
You must try their restaurant - great home cooking and first rate service.

Staff were friendly and hotel was clean. But swimming pool is not suitable for small children, even I could not stand on the bottome. I thought room was air-conditioned, but you have to pay extra. Over all it was nice but can be expensive with extra charges.
