First of all, the best thing about this hotel is its location. Location, location, and once again, location. The hotel itself is a bit shabby, and its golden days were about 10-15 years ago. The toilet is constantly leaking. Sometimes the sink doesn’t drain due to a clogged sewer, other times the light bulbs are burned out, and there are issues with broken towel holders. They forgot to provide large towels and only remembered the next day. Despite the good location, keep in mind that it’s not easy to get to from the port. And then you’ll be greeted by a surprise – there is an elevator in the hotel, but it’s accessible only after climbing 48 steep steps.
The staff is friendly and can call a taxi or order pizza. The breakfast consists of boiled eggs, bread with butter, coffee/juice, and sliced cheese and bacon. There are two cold pools and one warm pool downstairs.
So, if you're willing to put up with these things, then the hotel will be decent. Don't expect perfection from it.

The Strand Delfini is a lovely hotel in a perfect setting. Beautiful rooms, fabulous terrace views, with a lovely swimming spot at the base of the property. The bathrooms are lavish but the extensively equipped shower needs a lot of limescale removed.

We could not have asked for anything more. The staff were gracious and friendly, the amenities, including the indoor and outdoor pools but mainly the platform on the sea, were spectacular. The view can’t be beat and it is convenient to the port by bus or a short taxi ride.

The property has incredible views. It looks like quick construction and you can see some repair being need it, but it is barely noticeable. When I tell you… The staff cares so much about your comfort. Genuinely, they go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. A beautiful view, an excellent complementary, breakfast, and lovely staff… Please stay here.

There is only 1 great aspect to this hotel and its the view. Everything else was not great. We waited over 2 hours after check in time to get our room. Hotel is very old and not maintained at all… pool maintenance was not kept up and we did not even attempt to use the pool or provate beach area. Bug disappointment overall.

Room was clean, but no A/C and couldn't sleep comfortably at night. Too hot. No access except for many rock stairs which was hard to drag luggage up and down with no help from the hotel staff. Ruined our wheels and bottoms of our suitcases from dragging on the steps. No ammenities and no one spoke much English; very hard to communicate to the staff except a couple good waiters.. Pools weren't cleaned and the property did not have a beach or access to the ocean. Very disappointed for the money we paid and no one to talk to about it because of the communication translation issues.

Stayed for one night in February, excellent views from balcony friendly staff ,outside pools closed at the moment but inside there is a thermal pool . There is a bus which stops right outside hotel and goes to the port

The hotel needs a lot of maintenance and up keep. The views were the memorials parts. The AC in our room died on the last day and it was so miserable we could not even sleep that night.

The hotel is in the most exclusive part of the island. It is beautiful with many amenities. The room could have been cleaner, but otherwise the stay was excellent.

The view from the property was incredible and having the sea on your doorstep was a lovely benefit. However the room itself was a huge disappointment. I’m not sure what the strong smell was but it seemed to be a pungent whiff of stagnant water. The shower was probably a great feature at the time of installation but the electronic screen had seen better days. It barely worked and had to button bash for about ten minutes to have water coming out of the jets intermittently. The service was ok...

Amazing location and views of the sea
Bit outdated and could do with some renovation

The hotel was a little run down and breakfast was appalling (no milk in the whole hotel) it was out of season and as a consequence it felt like we were an afterthought. Otherwise a lovely location and cute (slightly kitsch) interior with friendly staff

Well, it ain't the Ritz! Nestled amidst the emblematic coastal monoliths of Ischia island in the shadow of Castle Aragonese, Stand Hotel Terme Delfini takes "off-season" to new depressing depths. Begging the question: "Oh, we still have paying guests?" The rooms are quaint albeit tired and the staff are pleasant yet sparse, however overall the hotels public amenities were in abysmal condition. The "private beach" was a dirty sand pit filled with garbage; the pool deck and various terraces were strewn with broken chairs and construction materials; and the pathetic breakfast was tantamount to a scene from "Birdbox" when Sandra Bullock scavenges through the kitchen in an abandoned house 5-years after the plague. Fingers-crossed they spruce this place up during the high season. After all, the hotel sits on an amazing property with dynamite intrinsic value.

This is a hotel in a beautiful location, with a lovely swimming pool and sunbathing areas next to the sea. The hotel was ok but very dated. My family and I found the staff to be very unhelpful and not interested in sorting out problems. We found google translate the only way to communicate - but they were still unhelpful. The breakfast was not up to 4 star standard. Lots of steps, not good for people with mobility issues. Overall we enjoyed our holiday - Ischia is a very beautiful island.

We stayed Friday night through Sunday morning and other than getting caught in a rain storm saturday morning, we had a great stay. Loved the hot tub after we got back from walking around town and getting soaked. Hotel had great views and was really clean. It was really far away from the center of town and the port, so that made things a little difficult. there are 2 buses that stop right in front of it but they only come every hour. We were there in the beginning of March and only the Aragonese Castle was open. We talked to locals at a coffee bar and they said it's a lot more alive after Easter! We may try to go back in April or May.

We went to Ischia as part of a long trip to Italy. My husband and I went to Ischia because that is where his great grandmother is from, so we wanted to see where his family came from. The hotel has a gorgeous view. The front staff is very nice, however they speak very minimal English. There were definetely down barriers between my broken Italian and their broken English. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. I actually checked in the pillow case to see if there was actually a pillow inside. The hotel was close to the castle and there was a shuttle from the hotel that brought us there. The spa they had was a little sketchy for my taste so we did not partake in that. We were there Christmas Eve, so we had dinner at the hotel. Waiter was nice, but the food was our least favorite meal of our trip. Overall staff was nice, location was okay, but the hotel looks and feels as though it has not been updated since the 70s. Most likely if we go again, would stay elsewhere.

The food was very disappointing not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. A lot of the quests we spoke to felt the same. The hotel is situated in an amazing position but the owners could do a lot more to enhance the experience of your stay. The staff didn't seem happy in their work ....the cleaners were excellent. There are a lot of items that need upgrading. The shower in the spa area needs replacing as this fell off the wall when I tried to use it. The jets on the multi shower unit need descaling as you just get a couple of squirts from each one so not a massage shower at all. Some tlc would go a long way to improve the hotel. We were fortunate enough to stay on Ischia for 2 months and feel that the hotel only achieves a 4* rating due to its amazing view. The rooms are not soundproofed as detailed on the Expedia site. You can hear everything from the other rooms so take earplugs.

We had ordered this hotel for one week mid-July. We´d order a deluxe room for 4 people and a dog. When arriving at the hotel, the view and site were beautiful. Looking closer to the hotel, it was a clear lack of maintenance. Big spots with paint falling off walls, worn out furniture i.e.
They handed over a key to a hotel room situated to one of the terraces. When arriving at the room which was laying in the corner, the door was very narrow (app 70 cm). Entering the room the disappointment was total. There was this little room, without any windows, a bunk bed on the side, and a double bed. There was absolutely no extra space. No space to put luggage or anything. The bathroom was maybe 3 sqm. The room was painted white, with no pictures on the wall, and just a roof lamp with some fluorescent light bowl. The room was absolutely terrible, and would, in my opinion, fit better in a 1 or 2-star hotel, or youth hostel.
We complained since this was not according to our order, and we absolutely could not stay there, not even for one night. They explained that our De-luxe double room we had ordered was not available before the day after, but we could get an extra room for just this night. We got an extra room which was small but acceptable for one night.
The day after we got our new room. This was as small as the one we got the day before but even more worn. The solution would involve 4 moves in 5 nights. Not acceptable. We checked out and left the hotel.

We booked a stay for Easter for ourselves and our 11 year old daughter. Unfortunately it was literally the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The room was tiny and certainly not the family room we had paid for. Upon asking for a family room we were moved to a slightly bigger room, smelling of sewage and with lots and lots of insects inside. There was no ventilation and the sheets were damp. I asked the manager for our money back as I would rather have gone to a B&B than stay in either room. He flatly refused and said it was non refundable. They offered free dinner in the evenings which we had no choice but to accept - or lose the £700 we had paid. However, at the end of the stay they then tried to claim it had been only one night dinner they offered and tried to charge. There were many guests complaining and the hotel is in a state of disrepair and dirtiness. Breakfast was very poor, with my daughter witnessing the waiter dropping a croissant and then replacing it on the buffet. There were 5 breakfast bowls which one had to wait to be washed if you were not fortunate to get there early enough to get one first. I cannot warn enough of this hotel. I wanted to leave early but because of ferry times we were stuck for the duration. To top it all, my husband found a cockroach in the room on the final night. Avoid at ALL costs.

This hotel has one of the best views of the castle (which is what I looked at when booking)but is the poorest condition of any hotel I saw on the island or in all of Italy for that matter. One person working there when we tried to check in. Not very nice. Even taking into account that it is not the main tourist season, this place is in terrible disrepair. Dirty, unkept grounds. Broken light fixtures in the hallways. Terrible stale cigarette smell in the rooms. The location is at the end of the road high on the hillside and the bus route to Ponto which is on the south end of the island near the castle. It is a long walk into town with both up and downhill portions. Bus route was not very timely. I was very surprised that Expedia allows this property to be listed on their site because of the total disrepair and run down condition. We moved immediately and I would not recommend this property to anyone, especially if you don't smoke or if you have small children. Practically any hotel on the island would be a better choice. We moved to Porto and stayed in a totally non-smoking property with many amenities and close to all the open shops and restaurant. On the waterfront and easy access to the ferry for the same price. Expedia was not much help getting moved so be careful and be sure you really want to stay here before you book it. I ended up having to pay twice for a hotel in order not to be stuck here. But it was a small price to pay not to have to spend the night here.

A gorgeous seaside retreat with amazing views, a private beach, a restaurant, pool, a spa with warm thermal bath. Mara gives a fantastic massage. There is a taxi boat to town and the staff was helpful at arranging ground transportation. A friendly fun, Italian retreat. Tony was great and the little dog Bella made us feel at home

Ischia is beautiful --go. The Hotel Strand Delphini has substandard service. After traveling 24 hours I was shown to a small, dark, dirty, ragged room. I barely had the strength to complain, but after trying to get me to stay in the tiny hole they finally agreed to another room -- definitely not four star. The hotel did not like having a single woman in the restaurant, and the only bad food (quite bad) and bad service (surly and churlish waiter and waitress) I had anywhere on the island was in the hotel restaurant. I had a long stay at the Delphini -- eight days. When very cold it took me 2 days to get a blanket like cardboard. I had the feeling, reinforced by an Austrian woman I met, that the Italians at the hotel were getting much better rooms and better treatment than single women from other countries. I paid for a double room -- cold and not terribly clean. Shower stall was moldy. For all its rot though it was most spectacular location and view on the island. It's a hike to town, so if you don't like to walk a few miles ... Ishchia was heavenly, and I do want to return someday...but never to the Delphini. They were rude and dishonest. I do not speak Italian perhaps a contributing factor... the staff didn't really speak English, but I really don't think that was the problem. Every other establishment I went too treated me beautifully. Ischia is the Garden of Eden, but avoid the mean nasty Delphini.
