Fantastic location, epic atmosphere with panoramic views - if you need a hotel in the region this is the place to book

the air condition had to be services, and even then then room was warm. there was no way to have coffee or a toast as you were forced to take the full breakfast and the cafeteria did not open until 11. AM. the restaurant choices were very limited and some foods were no longer available .sad because it's a beautiful place with a great view. the staff was nice and worked hard , but the whole place was under staffed

Old convent in the top of the mountain right next to Monforte de Lemos. The nice town is a short walk downhill.
Hotel needs newer tv set, rugs and curtains. Internet was weak in our room at the annex building.

On Sundays everything was close, no food near by

Very nice hotel, lovely old features which felt wonderful. Restaurant service was amazing but the food was not great hubby had a nice piece of veal shin but the suckling pig was slimy, full of fat and the skin was chewy. I sent the skin back and asked for it to be crisped up which came back very dark and charcoaled. It was better but not the best. It was almost like it had been boiled and then put in the oven briefly. Potatoes were barely cooked and only veg was green bell peppers which o don’t eat. Very disappointing. Service and breakfast the first morning was great the waitress was very friendly and attentive. Second day we were a little bit later 8.45 and the restaurant was almost full we were sat right in a corner in the extra room and forgotten about. Had some food from the buffet and our coffee still hadn’t arrived. I noticed another table ask for a pot of coffee and it was served within a few minutes I asked the waiter for coffee and it came out about 4 minutes later. The food arrived and the scrambled eggs were like a broken up omelette and chewy. Went up to get a croissant 3 times before they put some more out but they didn’t put any more pan au chocolates out so make sure you get in early for better service
Amazing views and comfortable large rooms. The shower was hot but not very powerful, beds were comfortable and pillows were nice. No coffee and tea in the room. Gym isn’t very good and we didn’t bother with the pool as it was outside and didn’t stop raining

I liked the serene atmosphere at this hotel. Very quiet and relaxed. Amazing views from our room. It was a bit out of town but the Cafe on site was great. The rooms were warm but bathrooms are a bit dated but fully functional. Montfort is a lovely town close to the river Sil national parks.

Amazing location and great experience. Are at the hotel, could not fault the food.
Check out is 12 noon but house keeping let themselves into the room at 10.15 which took us by surprise!
Overall had a wonderful stay

Astonishing building and interior. Luxurious accommodation with incredible views. Opulent decor to a very high standard. However, there was zero room information and no one to tell you about the restaurants or their opening times. We had breakfast and an evening meal in the restaurant which were both superb. The service in the restaurant and the beautiful open courtyard left a lot to be desired. As overseas tourists we certainly felt that we were treated less attentively then Spaniards. This somewhat tarnished our stay which would have otherwise been 5 star. Such a shame.

Beautiful old historic building, public places were very elegant. Bedrooms comfortable but dated.

A wonderful stay in a castle…close to town and wineries…only issue is restaurant onsite-I recommend planning meals way ahead of arrival…dining-room is not special, food was ok-but the restaurants in the town Meson JM and the dinner at O Grelo-perfect!

We were very lucky to have been able to stay in this amazing parador during the Covid pandemic. We were well looked after and had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant.

Stay was ok. Hotel could use some updates and maintenance. Overall given the city this is like the best in town.

Stayed here for a family wedding - Perfect hotel and perfect venue. The best hotel in the area by a long shot! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic hotel perched at the top of a hill - The views were incredible! The hotel is a contrast of traditional with a modern twist which works very well. It is very elegant, very clean and the staff were great. Couldn't fault it :)

True to Parador standards, those on Reception (Rocio and Sonia) made all the difference to the stay, by giving us a friendly welcome, and listed a wealth of things to do and see in the area. In some ways there was no need for this as this Parador is a jewel and a lovely place to relax. It also has a small gym and a swimming pool (closed during the winter months). The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The personal touch lies in a range of books on local topics. In the restaurant Patricia went way beyond what could be expected and the service was outstanding.

Somewhere it stated that the Parador was 1000 meters from the train station-WRONG-take a taxi-you will never find it at night, and it would probably be a half a day hike up the hills to get there.
Wonderful space; wonderful service; wonderful experience. WOW

Excellent hotel, beautiful location, fantastic value for money breakfast. However, the hotel restaurant's food was below average and we decided not to take any further meals there.
