Stayed here for DN1 festival. Parking and very good staff. Nice rooms, bar and food. All good.

Came for the racers, perfect location nice clean room friendly staff ,tea coffee in room but no biscuit only thing i can complain a out .
3.9
A lovely dog-friendly hotel in the centre of town, which totally suited my requirements.
I was a little surprised to have to pay £10 per dog when it says £10 per accommodation though.
3.9
Cosy and modern, but keeping its older warmth.
Efficient and quick service. Checking in and out was no bother.
The shower was hot and the bed really cosy. Perfect stay for a night when up early for a course the next day.
3.9
Lovely hotel, and friendly staff, nice location 5 mins walk to plenty pubs and restaurants and a nice short work to the races, we will certainly be back
3.9
Lovely service from hotel staff and owners. Genuinely warm welcome and helpful in anyway you could ask for.
I can’t give enough praise for how well I felt looked after during my stay
Great Hotel

Great staff, central location. Comfortable rooms. Great value
3.9
The hotel looks nice from outside. Reception and bar area nice and great service when we arrived. However the room itself was a let down. Tired, dated and in need of redecoration. It also had a kitchenette in one corner which made it feel like a bedsit rather than a hotel room. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul and had definitely not been cleaned. No glasses in room either. Woken up by the cleaners putting their key in door to get into the room!
3.9
The room was excellent with a nice view from the window, see the attached picture, but a little cramped to get past the bed (only about 12 inches). The bathroom was adequate however there was a danger of banging your head on the sharp corner of the sink unit when your were sitting on the toilet if you weren't paying attention. The bed was very comfortable which is what it's all about, and all in all I would willingly recommend the hotel. The free car park is a bonus as long as you can get in. I had to give it a couple of goes before I managed to get parked.
3.9
The hotel was close to family a good central location parking was an issue as it was small and hotel was full.
3.9
The room was desperately in need of refurbishment. Extremely uncomfortable bed and the room was cold.

My partner and I stayed for anniversary and the staff were super friendly and helpful when we needed it and the staff were so kind and we would definitely stay again and definitely recommend this facility to our friends and families

Unexpectedly stranded in Doncaster last night after train cancellations and I couldn't have chosen a better emergency stop. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding both in the evening and morning. My room, although basic was so comfortable. I don't usually sleep well in my own in hotel rooms (even though I travel a lot alone), but I had a great night's sleep. Great water pressure on the very basic shower, and the towels are even big enough to get around a big girl like me! Thanks guys!!

1st impression - good. Room available from 12 noon on way to races. I asked if I needed a reservation for dinner & was told NO.
Wanted hotel for 1. walkable to races. 2. modern, comfortable room. 3. On site restaurant so I didn't need to look for food after races.
Regent seemed to fit all & I booked Executive Double which has "picturesque views of tree lined Regent Square". Restaurant was popular with guests & locals & offered "home made dishes & daily specials from our quality chefs".
I admit I wasn't in the room much as I was at the races during day but I do feel I was treated as a second class citizen, perhaps as I hadn't booked direct & therefore saved money.
Staff were friendly & hotel was just one walkable mile from the racecourse, however everything else was disappointing.
No quiet tree lined view. I was over the main traffic lights on the main road & was disturbed several times on each night with heavy, noisy traffic.
Room had large bed but rest of room very dated & cheap old furniture. Outer window was open & inner window was broken.
I realised after 2nd disturbed night I had been put in an "apartment" which is normally available for £150 pw (contractors & workmen room?)
After being told I didn't need restaurant reservation I ate in hotel on Sat night. "chef is off" so I was given light bite / lunch menu. I asked about Thai menu & manager asked kitchen to do a Pad Thai. I ate in empty restaurant alone.
Sunday night restaurant is closed !!!
VERY POOR !!

Great location, very friendly staff.
Room was too cold.

Tired rooms. Noisy and heating was constant too hot and was broken so couldn’t be turned off. Needs refurb.
3.9
Staff were very very helpful. Easy to get in touch for questions. Had turn down service.

This hotel has gone down hill, very tired looking now and in desperate need of updating and having money spent on it.
We stayed in room 26 and we reported a loud buzzing noise on our way out to enjoy new years eve.
On our return after being asleep for a short while the noise came back, then stopped then woke us up again several more times. I reported it to reception while checking out to be told " i will let the boss know"
We certainly wont be going back to the Regent.

Friendly day staff. Old, tired rooms, wouldnt stay again.

Stopped here whilst on a course room perfect clean warm food was very good even delivered it to my room . Staff very friendly from the moment I arrived
3.9
excellent location, right in the heart of the city centre...good value on room rates...breakfast very good but too expensive at £15 although it was all freshly made...would stay here again
3.9
Stayed a few times but this is the last.
02:25 and a loud buzzing which vibrated the wall of my room caused by next doors malfunctioning toilet which lasted till 04:10.
Other residents came out of there room to locate the issue which also meant quite a few doors opening and shutting.
You expect a decent night in an exe room but no. Reported to reception in the morning and they said they will look into it.
Bar and staff are good but can’t comment on the food as always ate out.
Car park is small but additional parking on road out front.

Rooms ok, the rest needs a good clean

Loved staying at the Regent hope next time will be longer,Breakfast was absolutely delicious well done to the chef and staff

This place has been run by the same family since the 1930s. Even the Beatles stayed here. Very warm and friendly staff. Very small room (I chose a single, although the bed was full size and took up most of the space!!!!). Still, the breakfast in the hotel dining room was great -- as were the dinner options in the evening. My window overlooked Regent Square, a quiet peaceful little park bordered by some of Doncaster's nicest old homes. All in all, it was a wonderful, down-to-earth place to stay for a few nights.
3.9
A warm welcome on arrival at this hotel which stands in pleasant surroundings just a short walk away from city centre. Room was very comfortable with a nice view over a leafy square. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but otherwise cannot fault the service and would recommend The Regent for a short city break in Doncaster.

Cleanliness not great
Had to clean the bath before using
Carpet not clean including old contact lenses.
Decoration not very professional and looking tired already.
Staff very good however and the age of this property is hard work for all
3.9
Easy to find, parking was shocking thankfully I have a small car but the staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Presumably its only a 3* as some things are out of date and bathroom could do with an upgrade, more sealant etc but it was all mostly clean and the shower worked well. It was quiet considering the location although it was a Tuesday night we stayed
3.9
The bedroom was in a poor state , very dusty , bathroom to see a spiders skeleton on a dusty web , who inspects the rooms
3.9
The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
The room was spotless and all in all it was very good value for what it cost to stay there.
3.9
delightful find in a great area, exactly where i needed to be for access to a few local places - hotel situated in a quiet square, has good bar and restaurant - highly recommended at this price level.

Spotlessly clean hotel. Huge room and comfortable king size bed. Staff very pleasant. The hotel is wellsituated fir town centre.
3.9
Hotel was in the perfect location for what we needed. Staff were all friendly and accommodating.
Car park is small and it was very tight to get parked. Pillows were quite flat and uncomfortable.
3.9
Really nice hotel in a great location for the racecourse and town centre. Lovely outdoor seating area, nice room. The only thing was bathroom not very clean
