Check in went well. Hotel advertised breakfast but it doesn’t qualify. They had a coffee and a couple of prepackaged gross pastries. The room was nice but ceiling fan was very dirty. Room was also a dead zoom no cell service. Overall stay was ok but a little over priced for what it offered.
4.4
Awful! No breakfast for the whole stay; the hotel claimed that the food delivery didn’t make it and it is once a week
Hot tub not functioning although they called for service again
Water pressure almost nil to zero pretty bad
Mold all over see attached pictures
Toilet very dirty and after several requests they never cleaned it see pictures
No working elevator which is problematic for people with neurodiverse capabilities
Quite a pity, this hotel could be very nice if the owner were to be more involved

I really enjoyed the stay and the room was very nice and comfortable. I was very disappointed that the spa wasn’t working and the elevator. I wish they would have mentioned it when they had called me to confirm my reservation. Also I wish the staff would have controlled all the horse playing by children in the spa. I had went there for my anniversary for something romantic. Overall I loved the hotel.
4.4
The room was nice. The staff does need more training in customer service. They didn’t check us in until late which was disappointing and did not clean our room while our stay of two days.

This hotel used to use unscented cleaning/laundry products. I called directly to ask if they still did & was assured they use unscented products. When we got to the room, a strong unpleasant scent hit us immediately. We went to the desk to explain we were told "I can't imagine who would have said that. We use very fragrant products." She suggested we air out the room. We tried for several hours & even slept w/the doors & windows open. The scent was so strong it impacted our sleep & it still smelled in the morning. [Some of my clothes still smelled after washing & hanging for a week.] We weren’t offered a solution (clean the room w/another product, suggestion to move to another room, nothing). We left for the day w/the windows open, but the room still had a strong smell. We ended up leaving after we returned. First we were told we could not get any refund. When we went to check out, we couldn't because she couldn't figure it out. They eventually refunded part of the stay, but our vacation was cut short.
Telltale signs: no one at the desk (for 10-15 minutes–no sign/note). We were told that, although breakfast was supposed to be included, “They’ve wiped us out, but there is a little oatmeal & cereal.” Re: “spa”: no massage therapists working that week & the only spa-like things were a steam shower & jacuzzi. Every issue raised, the desk clerk said she’d have to call her boss. Poor management. Empower your staff, ensure desk coverage, food as advertised, etc.
Stay elsewhere.

The rooms were updated and large but the hot tub area is small and hot tub was not very hot.

Great Location and very cleaned Room.

Nice hotel, good location, breakfast was pretty minimal, clean, easy to get around

Arrived late (12AM) and before we arrived, we got a call from the front letting us know the front desk was taking off after 10PM or so. They were helpful and left a voicemail when I wasn't able to take the call (no service on PCH) and when I called they were happy to share instructions on how to successfully get access to our room. Otherwise, there was no access to the front desk and there is little to no cell service there so you're unable to make a call to the number left for emergencies.
There was no wifi (and we couldn't gain service to call any staff for wifi) which was a bit difficult. They technically have wifi available but it would not work for us no matter what. Perhaps a room issue or a temporary issue.
We booked evening of for a quick stop during our road trip. It was a cute place to stay with a couple complimentary breakfast items available such as bagels, cereal, etc. The front desk was sweet in the morning and was happy to restock the cream cheese for bagels when I asked. It sufficed for our last minute needs but it was a bit trifling to not have access to wifi and not be able to contact anyone for any problems or issues we could have and did run into.
I also saw a spider hang out in the room. Overall it's a cute place to stay for a bit that feels locally run if that's your vibe and you want to support local businesses in the area.

Our stay was ok. We expected more from what the website said it offered and the price point. Our room was noisy and overlooked a gas station. Our bathroom had empty soap dispensers only one roll of toilet paper and 2 towels. The staff was friendly and did correct the problem when we let them know . I was clean but we were unimpressed.

It is a very nice upscale property. Rooms and bathrooms are quite large and spacious. All the amenities are nice. There is a fridge in the room but no microwave. But there is a microwave in the lobby. Safe and secure basement parking. Some of the rooms have Hot Tubs. Hot tubs are relatively small for two people and there is an extra charge for the rooms with hot tub. Overall it is a very nice and clean property. Well maintained. And our experience was very nice. The location is also very nice. Close to the city and close to the beaches and park.
4.4
The room was fine, but the service was very basic and not what you would expect at a hotel that advertises spa services.

I liked that the hotels location was apart from the more developed section of Moonstone Beach yet easily accessible to the wooden boardwalk that runs along its length. A nice place to walk …
The back of hotel borders a natural wooded area but the front is nearer to the access street

We were disappointed. This was a spontaneous romantic getaway that was bad only due to the hotel unfortunately.
1.WiFi was suboptimal. My wife had to do some work over the internet and it was very slow. I ended up using my hotspot so she could work. It was just computer charting so we weren’t sure why it was so slow. When I asked a staff member about it she said they upgraded it recently it used to be worse.
2. We were supposed to be on second floor but when we mentioned my wife had a service dog we were told we could only be on the first floor. This seemed questionable at best and illegal at worst.
3. The original room we were given was 110 super close to the lobby. We paid for a “superior room”($360) for one night. It looked nice but was smaller than the photos. No couch. Hot tub malfunctioned and didn’t turned on and off. No hand soap in room, no tv remote.
3. Room 112 bigger and had a couch. We went to dinner around 730 staff had went home early as they said they locked Bobby at 9pm? We came back around 10pm used the bathroom only to find out toilet didn’t flush. Called number on desk it goes to morrow bay inn said not much they could do. No maintenance or anyone to come in. But “feel free to use lobby bathroom”. Really?? Next day spoke to staff, we left @10:30 no one came by to even try to fix it. We were told the manager would try to make it right. Didn’t happen. We left feeling unappreciated and regretting spending our money at this place.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Close to the ocean.
4.4
The advertised bar consisted of 4 pour taps.
4.4
The room was spacious and comfortable. Really liked the fire place and hot tub. The beach was only a 5-10 min walk. Will definitely be staying again.
4.4
We had a very nice and relaxing time. Our only complaint is that the WiFi service was very bad. Would not play on demand films available in the room, so we were stuck with cable TV.
4.4
Second time staying here because my dog is already familiar with the place. Super pet friendly and close to everything.
4.4
Very underrated place. Ideal for couples it seems. Worth every penny
4.4
Nice room. Not on beach but within earshot. Short walk view of woods. Construction finished.
4.4
We stay here regularly, and went to stay for a relaxing few days, but this time we booked they were painting and renovating and the place smelt so bad from the paint. We were then told they were only doing construction between 10 and 4, but they started at 7:30 am in the morning right above our heads while we were sleeping and of course could no longer sleep. We complained to the young girl at the front desk when we checked out and said they should let people know when they book, if they are doing construction and limit the hours if people are paying full price to stay. She just said oh ok, no offer of discount or any apology. We have not been back since. Not the best way to treat paying customers.
4.4
I loved the staff
4.4
Lovely place, near downtown Cambria and walking trails. Ask the front desk for welcome to Cambria brochure

We had wanted to stay here for years and finally did. The hotel is nice, small and well appointed. The advertisement said it had a "bar,". It has a "self-serve" area with two wines and one choice on beer that you have to purchase a debit type card to purchase. Free breakfast was OK, everything is packaged, nothing fresh.
4.4
Clean, comfortable, and great service. It’s a short five minute walk down the boardwalk to Moonstone Beach.
4.4
The outside of the hotel was very appealing and the location was perfect for our stay. I appreciated the clean room and the staff were really nice and helpful. Just wished there was indoor jacuzzi/pool since the day we stayed the weather was cold, gloomy and raining very slightly (misty).
4.4
Found stained sheets and no one was on property to get replacement.
4.4
I was dismayed upon entering my room to find that there was no security bar on the door. Security is my first concern, even more than a comfortable bed.
The hotel was otherwise fine. I liked having a fireplace in the room, although it took a bit of searching to find out how to turn it on!
4.4
Walkable, close to the beach. Quiet and clean
The front desk person when i arrived was rude
Will not allow you early check in
4.4
Not not on the beach. Price too high.. Dark.

Excellent choice for a getaway weekend.

We checked in late in the day. Bernice called me around 8 PM to let me know that she would leave at 10 PM and gave me instruction on how to get our keys if we arrived after she had already left. When we arrived, Bernice just got into her car. Even though her shift was over and she was already leaving, she got out of her car and helped us check in and made sure we were well situated before she left for the evening. Great customer service!! Thanks again!

Great hotel!

The room was beautiful with a view of a peaceful natural setting. Open the window and hear the waves crashing on the beach. Walkable to one of the best coffee houses in Cambria. I recommend that if you have a chance, stay at this hotel.
4.4
The room is nice and clean but the fireplace did not work
4.4
Overall, love the layout of the hotel. The hotel is undergoing construction so our view was limited- I think we would have seen just the street leading to the hotel. So, I have no complaints! We would love to stay longer the next time because the beach is so close!!!
4.4
The rooms are spacious and comfortable
4.4
Don't be fooled by the name. It's not a spa. They have a hot tub and steam room which they closed due to construction. Don't think you can book a massage! And it's not on Moonstone Beach. You have to walk on the trail to get to the beach. No view. Backs to a forest. Entire 2nd floor was under construction.
Said they had 'grab n go' breakfast. It was all gone before 8:30am. Another guest said the construction workers had eaten all of it.
Very disappointed. Hotels along the water were priced abt the same or even less. Lesson learned.

Very quaint Santa Fe feel
