This stay corrosponded with a 50th birthday we were invited to, and chose this accomodation as it was fairly close! We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. I was upset at first, that my sister was on the ground floor, and I was on the top floor, but the gentleman carried up my case, I am 67 my sister 75! However both rooms were in very good condition extremely clean, and as I said to the gentleman on checkout, I was thrilled to be in a penthouse suite, but I find the stairs difficult now! The gentleman, sorry I dont know his name, again apologised for me being up the top, but I said it was fine, I also realised that I had stayed at this guest house before, it was at least 15 years ago! Ha! Ha! The only criticism I can say, I found the room chilly, there was a radiator, and also an added electric one, but I think it is possible the double glazing might need to be replaced, and in the shower room, the windows need a decorate. Apart from that great! The TV was a smart one, so I must admit it was a bit lost on me, but I managed to watch what I needed! Excellent couple of days. Thankyou

A warm and comfortable guest house, the staff were welcoming and helpful. A perfect place for my overnight stay in Loughborough.

Can do with new carpet

Lovely B&B. Would recommend as a place to stay.
3.8
Good location, good parking, comfortable bed and excellent cooked breakfast.
3.8
room large but very sparsely furnished. A chair to sit on, at least, would have been nice. No toiletries, just handwash from Tescos.
Shower OK but took me a while to work out how to adjust it
3.8
The room is old, the toilet is new but was not clean. The mattress is very uncomfortable and the noise of the road comes straight to the room where I was.
3.8
Basic & dated decor, room a bit cold but clean - not convinced sheets were fresh on the beds. Showers dreadful -
3.8
The hosts were very good but room service happened once in a week so towels were damp as heating was intermittent and cold in room. No signal for tv so had 2 channels for the week. Plus points, small bar, good hosts, good parking.
3.8
Very uncomfortable bed and pillows, door handle was broken, radiator valve was broken, bathroom was so tiny with a bi fold door that met with the sink as so small and you couldn’t even close as it was too big for the frame which is not ideal when sharing a room! If you are a little overweight even you could not use this bathroom..The wardrobe was hard to access as it opened over the dresser that had the tea tray and tv on so not really useable! Also Most of the milk cartons were soured.. It was advertised on their site as bed & breakfast and ticked with available along with WiFi, and parking so it seemed it was a part of the package... It’s not so don’t be fooled like us! The diner and lounge look good as in an updated extension but the rooms are old and dated & you can smell the food being cooked in the room!

The hotel is situated just off a busy road and a little bit noisy, although I had no trouble sleeping. The room itself was big and had a large double bed, however the bathroom is very small. There was no plug in the sink and a broken handle on a drawer. The room was cold as the central heating wasn't on all the time.

Located close to centre. Spacious rooms. Free parking. Comfy bed.

Great price and really helped that it was pet-friendly, good that the room was separate to the hotel for the dog

Amazing service and the room was great. Will be staying again

Good off road parking, and friendly service. Te breakfast was very good.

The hotel was very clean, good size room with a large bed. Easy to find with a decent car parking area, would recommend.
3.8
everything ok but could not get shower to work

Old hotel in dire need of renovation, bar is not open staff, what staff?? Only met 2 persons during my entire stay!!

I had a great stay here at the Charnwood regency. The room was spotless and very comfortable, I had a great quiet sleep. Shower room and WC very good, good pressure in the shower, could not fault the room. Proper size cups for tea making was appreciated. The hotel itself is clean and very well cared for and has a relaxing calm ambience.
Did not have breakfast so cannot comment but the tables laid out for breakfast service looked great.
Would not hesitate to stay again.

Stayed here the night before attending university open day. Lovely hotel, very friendly and charming host. Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. Shower could do with an upgrade, but this didn't detract from our comfort. We were even allowed to leave out car in the carpark the following day while we visited Loughborough uni. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Staff were friendly and professional. Room was airy and comfortable.

Very easy to reac it.

We had one overnight stay to meet my brother and his wife, the next day. We arrived and Matt was the person who greeted us and looked after our needs throughout our stay. He was very helpful and offered us a complimentary drink as the weather was very hot. The room was as requested, at the rear, very clean spacious and comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast with plenty of options to choose from. All in all we will definitely use this property again when we stay in the area next time. We were very impressed with our experience and would recommend this B and B to friends and family.

Very nice room with comfortable bed. So peaceful here with a shop and petrol station just a few minutes away. Friendly staff

The property went into receivership and booking canceled

We stayed here for 2 nights & had 3 different rooms. We had to look for someone to book in with. When we found someone we weren’t expected & didn’t have our details. It was only when he checked his phone that he found our booking. We were told there wasn’t any Wi-Fi even though we were told there was free Wi-Fi. The 1st night we found that our room had no hot water. At first there was no-one to complain to. We finally found a staff member who told us 1 of the hotel’s boilers was broken which also supplied hot water to the kitchen. At 21.40 we moved to a room which had hot water but no working TV. Next morning we complained about the TV. We found a note in our room that the TV had been fixed. Now there were only 3 channels. Again we could only find 1 person. Tried to fix the television after nearly an hour he wasn’t able to & we had to change rooms again. Our third room in two nights. The third room had a working TV & hot water though a tiny bathroom & the shower’s controls were so awkward that it was easy to scald yourself. The room had bedside lights but there was no way to turn them on we couldn't find any switch for them. No room had any of the advertised toiletries. On our last morning we complained to the manager who had booked us in when we arrived. We’re disgusted that we’d had three different rooms in only two nights. We have stayed in budget hotels with better service. The manager apologised & said he’d arrange a partial refund for us 2 weeks later & not contacted.

Very nice place to stay, good food and comfortable.

Everything was smooth where checking in was concerned. We loved that our room was very close to where the car was since we had woken up a little late. Definitely a bonus for us. And no stairs!!
3.8
Stayed to visit the local university. Lovely people who run this little hotel. The main bar area and lounge is beautiful but the bedrooms and dining area doesn’t quite live up to this great first impression. Would stay again though and hope the owners go on to renovate every room. Special mention to Matt in the kitchen as he was on duty when we came back after dinner and found a hairdryer for us.

This hotel went into official receivership before our visit and your sophisticated computer systems failed to pick up that we had booked accommodation for 8th June. We’re it not for an email from the official receiver we would have been stranded if left to your totally inadequate customer services
3.8
Tried to give me a single when I’d booked & paid for a double, even asked me how much I’d paid for my booking, trying to catch me out?!
I spent another 3 weeks in the area working, and stayed elsewhere - even the travelodge in the centre was cheaper and to a much better standard
3.8
Very clean and comfortable. Staff polite. A few loose ends here and there in the room. Public areas more recently renovated. Didn't have food so can't comment. Check how to get back in before you leave for the day...it wasn't obvious at 10pm!

Very good service and room
3.8
Outside room ideal when you take your dog away. Right near the town centre
3.8
Easy parking close to amenities.
Accommodation very comfortable very warm and welcoming staff

We were disappointed we could not get an evening meal.
3.8
Just what I needed on a work trip. Friendly, comfortable, safe, convenient.
3.8
An absolute shambles. Booked 2 rooms bit when checking in they only had 1 room. The reception gentleman started cursing and swearing in front of us about the situation. Eventually got a second room in a house next door which was clearly under renovation as the room looked half finished - no mirrors, live wiring hanging out the bathroom wall and a smashed window. Then to make it worse 2 days after checking out they took money off our cards without any explanation or authorisation. Needless to say we will not be coming back.

Everything nicely presented, and hotel was quiet despite proximity to the main road we didnt hear any traffic noise. The walls are thin though, and you can very clearly hear guests in other rooms using the bathroom so earplugs are useful at night.
They did seem a bit understaffed on the day we arrived - with one fairly new chap doing everything (cooking dinners, checking people in, booking taxis and sorting out problems all at once!). We had a couple of small problems with our room, nothing major but it did take a little while to get settled. The flush also broke on the toilet but they moved us quickly to another room which was fine.
Breakfast was very tasty and nicely cooked and all the staff were very pleasant and easy going
The hotel well positioned, only a short walk up into Loughborough but a bit studenty so we took the car into Quorn and had a very nice dinner at the Quorndon Fox, which is a few minutes drive
Beds lovely and soft, we could have done with some bedside cabinets to put things on but we were very comfy all in all :-)
