Great location in Downtown Gettysburg

Absolutely wonderful! Walkable, lots of options literally at the Brick Houses front yard! Only complaint.... I was alone upstairs in Virginia room my 1st night. 2nd night a family came & was about 1030pm before they settled down. My first night super quiet! Even if their are ghosts, they let me sleep! Definitely would stay again! Might be a spirit 16 year old named Cheryl in the Virginia room.

Better off staying at local Gettysburg Inn.

I was traveling alone and stayed in the Virginia Room. It was very clean, cozy, quiet, and nicely decorated. Sam was friendly and very helpful. I couldn’t make the socials but it was nice to know that there’s an option to get to know other guests. They have a very nice patio area to sit and have coffee and it was an easy walk to shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.

We travelled with a group of 5 couples and stayed in the Welty House, known for being part of the ghost tours in Gettysburg. The rooms were decorated in period furniture. There was a beautiful courtyard with tables and chairs where we were able to gather. The beds are very firm, so this made it difficult for some to sleep. Rooms have electric fireplaces (except the Georgia room) which warmed up the rooms nicely. They moved me from the Georgia Room after the first night as the gas fireplace was not working and the weather had turned very cold and rainy. The staff, Sam, was very helpful and took great care of everyone. Note: nightly ghost tours took place in the basement, so those with rooms on the first floor heard their voices late into the evening.

The Inn was conveniently located downtown Gettysburg, PA. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants.

Wonderful historic inn.Like taking a trip back in time. Quiet, comfortable, great staff.

Bed linens were aged and terribly faded. Pillows were heavy rocks. Curtains were shabby. The rug in my room was burgundy and visibly soiled even though dark. A single bath-shampoo-conditioner combo attached to the shower stall. Uncurated, un-themed antique decor picked from thrift. Tired, tired woodwork in my room, not sanded before the last coat of paint. Breakfast not included. Utility areas always on view.

Beautiful building

It was neat staying in a historical house.

Communication from the Brick House Inn was excellent. We did not stay for breakfast this visit. We did not see any staff this trip because we arrived in the evening. Thank you!

Manager was excellent in troubleshooting our reservation. We needed something a bit more handicap accessible than what we were originally assigned. We didn’t see anyone once we got to the property, but the directions we had were great. We didn’t need to see anyone.

I had a question upon arrival. There were two numbers posted on the properties door to call/text with any questions. I texted my question to both numbers. A response was never received.

This is was perfect for what we wanted to do in Gettysburg. It is centralized, so it made walking around easier. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hunny loved the cookies that are left for everyone in the dining room. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Beautiful and comfortable. Conveniently located in the middle of historic Gettysburg. Loved our quiet getaway.

Property was in the perfect place for seeing the battle grounds of Gettysburg.

We very much enjoyed the stay. The ladies who were there to help were awesome. Snacks and coffee available. Breakfast , which was yummy, upon request.

We got the California house which is the separate two story room at the back of the property. Loved the seclusion and quiet over what I assume would be a more noisy shared space in the main house.
The location of the property could not get any better. Its just the right walking distance to everything. Now that I've been there I would never want to stay in the Gettysburg Hotel, you'll have to walk too far south every time you want to do anything.
4.5
Great property, well located. The property itself is beautiful and the room was comfortable and decorated matching the historic structure.
4.5
Nice historic hotel within walking distance of restaurant, shops, etc. Also close to civil war battlefields & other historic sites.
The room was clean, a bit small but ok for a couple of nights. The air conditioning was great & very quiet. They provided a small shared frig downstairs & water, but no ice.
Very nice sittings areas outside & comfy swings on the front porch too!
The only hiccup was our check-in. Our code didn’t work, we had to call for assistance to get into the building.

Thank you !! Very pleasant stay

A very pleasant and cozy historic building

The staff was wonderful, especially Sam! He assisted us with a problem getting into our room and checked back with us several times during our stay to see if we needed anything. He also happened to give the evening took we took. He is definitely one of the better guides.
They recently changed owners and haven't quite got their I.T. caught up. Between the website, emails and texts there were conflicting information (ie: check in time listed as 2:30, 3:30 & 4:00). The code we were sent to get in was missing a number. The website also said the California House didn't have keys, but it did.
Parking was an issue. There are exactly enough spaces for each room to have one car. However, no one was enforcing this. Several times the lot was full, which meant either someone there was using more than one, or outsiders were parking there. We suggested having assigned spots for each room and/or a permit to place in the car. Overall, we loved it and will probably be back. :)

Sam is a crucial part of the Brickhouse team. He would supply advice, champagne, and good conversation. The breakfast was always delicious and the coffee was always good.

Wonderful Stay! We loved the breakfast, it was safe and convenient! Sam was very welcoming and we enjoyed the champagne social. It was a great stay if I would change anything we would opted for a bigger room . Although nice South Carolina room was small for a weeks stay. We will miss it and be back !!!!

a beautiful property close to many great dining stops

Just the quiet place we wanted.
4.5
The house was quiet (a good thing) and the bed was comfortable. Parking, once we found it, was plentiful. The house/room was older and not as comfortable as I would have wanted. Not sure I would stay again.
4.5
The building is old but they updated everything nicely. The room was comfortable and thankfully the AC worked great. They sent so many emails and it was a little hard to find the proper info for the keypad on the front door.
Otherwise it was a nice stay, comfortable, had coffee water and treats out at all times, and very nice people.

I have stayed at the Brickhouse a few times now and I keep coming back because they are a first class B&B. The rooms really make you feel comfortable and at home and everything is very clean. What I also like about them is they have ceiling fans! You’re in the heart of town just steps away from everything. You can’t go wrong, so give them a try!

Great historic house. Great view of the street from our room. Very convenient to shops, restaurants and historic places.

Old civil war home, liked its charm and character. Really helped put you in the time period. Authentic. We loved this place! We will go back!

Cute little B&B right in the middle of it all in Gettysburg. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Check in was easy with the door code. Highly recommend and definitely thinking about a return visit.
