Great stay

An Absolute gem and so quiet! Watch out fir restaurant hours on off season. I picked up dinner on my way so no need to leave.

This place is such a gem. We were there for a hockey tournament and they were so welcoming, I almost thought they were joking - but they're actually just THAT welcoming. We had a recently renovated room that was *stunning,* but spent most of our time in the super cozy and warm resto/bar area with the other parents. We ate several meals there; kids enjoyed the pool and they gave them a vacant meeting room so they could have a teenage lounge space (and we didn't have to worry about them disturbing other guests in the hallways). They also helped us order pizza for the teenagers from a local pizzeria, while the adults ate in the resto. They had a bonfire going out back and the chef found some marshmallow sticks so the kids could roast some. The staff (Chef, Sarah, Eli, and Julie) felt like they were part of our group, they were so lovely! I am now envisioning lovely girlfriend weekends away there, and combined family ski trips this weekend.

I booked 3 double rooms for my kids (all young adults) and their partners for the night of 25th July 2024 at a cost of over $1000. At 12 noon that day, the hotel informed me that due to construction these rooms were now unavailable and instead they would all be moved to a house where other guests (some strangers) had also been moved (a total cost to all occupants of nearly $2000). I have been trying to arrange a rebate with the manager Marcy because this is not what we paid for, but to no avail because she does not return messages.

Visited here in the off season and was given one of the condos as our room for the night. Truly amazing, large open concept space of kitchen, dining and family room. Tastefully decorated. Spacious washroom with walk in shower and jacuzzi tub, and larger master bedroom. Even though the hotel was area was virtually closed, the wonderful staff brought us continental breakfast the night before to put in our fridge and coffee with cream. There was enough food for 6 people. I hope to come back here some time. Also close to the town where we dined for lunch based on their recommendation and dinner later.

good hotel, good food, convenient, close to Ottawa

This property is in need of some serious updates,The breakfast area is not suitable and extremely small. On a positive note the pool was up and running.
1.0
Room very cold and no hot water for showers. I mean no hot water the shower was very cold. It was awful. On top of that the price of the room is extremely expensive for one night and they cant even have a TV bigger then 24 inches. Not happy.
2.0
Tap leaks, phone in room not working, food in resturant expensive and lack taste, water in hot tub low, pool water inclean and carpet dirty.
5.0
No issues. Enjoyable stay.

Very expensive…and room not clean. When ask staff about cleaning the room properly, not helpful at all.

It was unfortunate i had no hot water to shower around 7pm.

Shower was warm only a first few minute then cold. Quite isolated area. Only the place we can get dinner is the restaurant in the hotel.

Be WARNED, check in time ends at 10pm. We arrived around 10:30pm to find the reception desk and the hotel empty. There was an after hours number posted, but no one answered. We stayed for 45 minutes, walking around the hotel, looking for staff and calling the after hours number. Neither myself nor the Expedia rep could get a hold of anyone. We ended up driving an hour to find a different hotel where the concierge laughed at my story. Neither one of us had previously heard of a hotel that ends check in at 10pm, nor one that leaves their guests stranded overnight.
I requested a refund the night of our arrival, October 4th. After attempting to contact the hotel and following up with Expedia five times over the course of two months (Expedia also couldn't reach the hotel during this time), I finally received a reply today (December 1st) that Calabogie Peaks had refused to provide any sort of refund, discount or credit.
I hope you make some much needed changes to your policies.

Nice property and quaint warm feel. Had a nice view of the mountain and fall colours.

Stayed for 2 nights, beautiful fall colours. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and loved the outdoor fire pit. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance and we were not able to use them. Continental breakfast was not a lot of variety but okay. Would be nice if there was a coffee/tea/got chocolate station for guests in the lobby as a suggestion

This property was fine everything and went well except the following. We were on a motorcycle trip. I specifically booked this place because it had a restaurant ( with a chef), so was going to be fine. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The last think we wanted to do was get back on the bike. I’m not sure if Expedia is to blame for this false advertising or the hotel itself. But was certainly disappointed! Oh.. we were there on Monday!

The room is full of flys, and asked hotel to provide Raid or other insecticide, the answer is no. I fight tens of flies all night, they climbed your face and let you unsleeping .

The good: The staff were friendly enough. The food in the restaurant was great! Really liked the head chef. The king bed was clean and very comfortable.
The not so good: The pool and hot tub were not open which was very disappointing! The hotel looks in need of a solid renovation, everything is tired looking. The sofabed in the suite was not good. The small suite kitchen needs things like a cutting board, knife, wine opener, can opener tea towels etc.

Spacious room and clean
Toilet was broken, bathroom door squeaked terrible,
Breakfast awful, (asked for a bottle of water, said no, asked for a glass of tap water said they had none, room was out of coffee. When we arrived (early) we had a pleasant lady on the desk after that we had a lady who was not pleasant. Would not go back. P.s.
First time I have written a review, 1st time I have been so disapointed

Great value and service - large room, convenient dining, continental breakfast, and thanks for the campfire! The pool was closed but will hopefully be open next time.

Hotel gone very shabby, room was very dusty , stayed three days and room never cleaned. No cups in room for coffee and continental breakfast downstairs was absolutely deplorable. Unfortunately calabogie peaks resort is way past its peak and the hotel has gone down hill .

Room was nice, comfortable bed

Nice enough hotel, a little sleepy, everything shut at 9pm. No complaints, people were nice, had a decent meal in the restaurant.

Hotel needs a major renovation to bring it up to standard. Carpets were dirty, bathroom was not functioning properly - free-running toilet - chair in the room was filthy so we didn’t sit down! Everything was dirty and old. We felt unclean the whole visit, musty/damp feeling room and hallways. Poorly lit throughout (although 3 of our rooms lights didn’t work at all!!)
Food in the restaurant was okay. Service in the restaurant was great - one lady doing it all - run off her feet, but capable and super friendly.
Service from lady on front desk before our visit was rude and abrupt. Service at front desk was mediocre.
Breakfast was in a small meeting room with grab and go items that weren’t fresh, and the room was unclean as well.
Didn’t dare try the pool area.
Grounds were unkept, pavement at entrance from parking lot had missing stones making it an unsafe walk.
Overall - I do not want to stay at this hotel again, and am surprised that Ascend links their name to this location.

The room could use updating. The carpet had tears and the window locks didn't lock. Also the hot tub was not working at the time and the pool was cloudy.

The stay was very nice our first room was quite cold and we were re routed to another room which was an upgrade and it was very comfortable. The breakfast spot was very good with many muffins coffee and assorted jams jellies and toastable breads :)

This nicely renovated condo has very nice amenities

Expensive and not worth the money. We checked in and the room did not have any hand soap, shampoo and conditioner as advertised and only 3 towels for 4 people. No housekeeping during our stay. Too expensive for what they offer.

Beautiful area but as someone from outside the area I would appreciate a small map guiding me to local attractions (particularly restaurant options) as I wasn't aware the on- site restaurant wasn't open Monday and Tuesday.

All good overall

It was okay for a one night stay.

Lovely property. Beautiful lake. Very nice staff
3.0
I really like the views and friendliness of our check in receptionist but nit the stain on bedroom carpet or lack of electricity for the wall with the tv coffee maker. The beach I'd consider unsafe to approach as no one was directing the diggers or trucks as we drove in and out. Pretty otherwise down at waterfront but you cant bring your own food.

It was nice with lots of potential activities to do. Weather did not allow us to take advantage of this. The personnel was very nice and room very clean and spacious. The only down side is the included continental breakfast could be a lot better, no fruit, had to ask for more croissants and the only protein was a already made english muffin sandwich that we had to heat up. No peanut butter... I would of like some yogourt, peanut butter, nuts, seeds and or fresh fruit. Tks.
3.0
Property looks very tired and needs TLC. The pool and hot tub was out of service. Disappointed it wasn’t posted. The main driveway needs repaving.
4.0
Atmosphere. Beautiful surroundings very pleasant to walk around.

None of the restaurants were open. The heat was still on so our room was uncomfortably warm. One of the windows wouldn't stay open. There were no facial tissues (Klennex) in the room and I have stayed at Roadside motels and used gas station restrooms with nicer toilet paper. For an exclusive resort it was one of the most disappointing stays
